    One of the things that I like most about your guys' videos is how you, basically, offer different views in the same video. For instance, in this video, you have one guy saying, "just carry a bic lighter." Then, you have another guy saying that he carries 5 different methods of starting fires. Also, you are all working together.

    • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't usually carry that many versions of fire. I did that time to demonstrate options. I do however think that you should know how to make all fire options and carry at least three, to include a zippo or bick lighter. Thanks for watching.

    Nice. I don't have an EDC bag, but if I did, I'd have the following:
    . Small fixed blade knife
    . Swiss Army Knife
    . Pepper Gel
    . Flashlight
    . Batteries
    . Spare phone charger
    . Hand sanitizer
    . First Aid Kit/Trauma Pak
    . Spare keys
    . Water bottle (s)
    . Bandana(s)

    EDC bag makes sense, I call mine a "get home bag". Bug Out bag is a 72 hr or more type bag. Good video.

    A good EDC bag is the Red Oxx Roadster Ruck. It's pretty expensive but it has pretty much the same warranty as an ESEE and is tough as nails. Also it looks pretty darn cool. Also it's really low profile.

    Good stuff gentlemen. It looked like a fun trip and a chance to work out any bugs in your systems. What you guys described was a get home bag. I keep one in my Jeep when I am wheeling. An EDC bag is something you have with you everywhere you go on a daily basis. Much smaller than a get home bag, but carrying the most likely items you will need if something goes wrong at work or at a store or out with your family. Y'all be safe and keep making great videos.

    To my knowledge ( Ive been doing EDC for two years now) EDC is the tools and gadgets to get you thru your day for example a knife, a torch, your wallet, your phone your sunnies ect. your bags are much more of a small get home bag type this is not meant to be rude.

      +James Hinrichsen Finally someone who understands this. Huge pet peeve of mine. There is a huge difference in EDC, get home, 24, 48, 72, bug out bag or what ever. Like these guys, they get so carried away.

    6:12 Get a Ziploc bag for your snacks, to prevent package breakage & crumbs in edc bag & keep the mighty bush mouse from making your bag into swisscheese. Going light weight is carrying a 1-2 ounce Ziploc bag of dehydrated mixed-Veggies (500 G of frozen mixed Veggies) compared to the 12 Ounce x 2 (340 ml) per Can of Veggie juice. Cheers ;-))

    I like your videos, but I think you missed the mark on this one. If you carry this bag as an "Urban Every Day Carry", you'll only make it a month and leave it at home.
    Instead, I would call this a "Get Home Bag". That would be a bag you leave in your car that will allow you to spend some time away from home, but ultimately affect your rescue.
    Ideally your EDC bag holds things you need in your every day life like a water bottle, tablet computer or ereader, a ball cap, bug spray and a first aid kit, maybe a cell phone charger to use at your desk or in your friends car. This bag should hold the things you use everyday so you'll carry it and not mind the extra weight and cumbersome bag. If you can fit a small amount of self rescue gear in it, all the better.

    • @BladeHQ
      @BladeHQ  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're right this is more of a get home bag, we just happened to call it an EDC bag; though there are subtle differences in what those two types of bags might hold.

    • @LudosLP
      @LudosLP 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My EDC Bag includes GetHome-Elements and stays for my GetHome-Bag too... it weight abeout seven to nine kg and I have it nearly everyday with my! :D

    • @MrDanielWP
      @MrDanielWP 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blade HQ - nothing subtle about the difference. One bag has cell phone chargers, headphones with mic, several pens, tablet/laptop, etc. The other has shit they might fire you for having in the office. Just saying.

    NEVER rely on a Bic lighter or any lighter of the sorts when living outside and camping /hiking. Once they get wet your SOL..Definitely get a rod and learn how to start a fire using it and different techniques.

  • @BladesRKing
    @BladesRKing 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Finally someone said "just carry a few Bic lighters"...about time! All these survival pros using fero rods, magnesium, etc to light fires the old school way. But, carry the high tech tactical folder or fixed blade with a high tech bag. Just seems funny u wouldn't use a high tech lighter. Not being a hater, just an opinion.

    • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard to permanently break a fero Rod. Also the fero Rod doesn't run out of gas.

    I love your videos. I am a new subscriber. However, I completely disagree with your medic about carrying only a couple ways to make fire. Other than a cutting implement the only other resource I covet is a fire making tool. I carry 2 on me in my EDC, and I probably have 12 or more in my EDC. A lot are redundancies, but I'll carry 4 or so on my person, then others stashed in kits, or seperate bags. No offense, but if you've never spent a cold night on the trail its hard to understand. I once had my Jeep break down on me on a long trail run. I didn't want to leave her, so my buddies left me overnight while they drove back for help. I had everything I thought i needed, and could not make a fire with what I had. I ended up cannibalizing my jeeps speaker wire to improvise a fire off the battery. I won't go without fire again.
