I’d love to see a comparison rolling resistance wise vs say gp5000. For half the price is it way behind on performance rollin wise and grip or giving up a tiny bit for huge savings.
I run 35mm x 700c Panaracer TLC slick Gravelkings. 310g. On 19mm internal Hunt road wheels, come up 36mm. Bought recently £60 pair free delivery. Light, supple, fast. Great tyres, great value.
Ha ha, I just put a new set of tires on my '71 Motobecane. The Veloflex Corsas cost more than I paid for the bike originally, I should have gotten a pair of the American Classics.
Just bought the Timekeeper (tubeless) unit because of your review, thanks for posting it! Installed it with no issues. The rubber quality seems great. Any idea what mileage one can get out of it?
I would consider these if they made normal width tyres in 650b. Many bike companies sell smaller frames with 650b as standard (like my grail with 38mm 650b) but almost zero tyre companies sell compatible tyres ;(
Hi, I also own a TCR, I have 28mm tires, do 32mm tires have enough clearance? I would like to change to wider tires, the roads of northern Spain are very worn. Thank you
Interesting, I've been looking for a decent replacement for my gp 4 seasons for training that won't bankrupt me! 2 quick questions, did you notice any measurable stretch in the tire(increased measured width) over your weeks of testing compared to when they were brand new? And, if the 32's measure 29mm on your 20mm id rim does that mean it'll probably measure a little smaller than that on my 19mm id rim, or wider? Thanks for the videos!
I've not noticed any difference in measured tyre width in the time I've been using them. Yes I'd expect they would be slightly smaller on your 19mm rims but doubt the difference would be that significant
@@davidarthur Ok that's good to know cos my bike only has clearance for up to 29mm(measured width) tires. I'll prolly look at the 28's then. Thanks for the reply!
GP Four Seasons (and GP5000!) are only 5£ more. I think they are way better than these heavy tyres from American Classic and worth the little extra cost. If you are looking for cheaper tyres, that are still lighter and have great puncture protection: Schwalbe Lugano and Vittoria Rubino are under 20£. The Conti Ultra Sport III (folding) under 25£ are way cheaper and recommended by this testing side that Dave always mentions. Forgot the name ... I saw even a version of the Pirelli P Zeros on my quick look around, that are cheaper than these 35£ tyres in the video...
Honestly tires is the one place where where saving money simply does not make any sense. I would much rather ride a high end tire with Sora groupset than Dura Ace with something cheap.
I pray they will continue with their old hub design, I have a set of 2015 terrain hubs on tcx rims and I have battered them. Ride all through winter and just hose the bike down after a ride… Never had a problem, never dinged a rim, never trued a spoke, never changed a bearing BUT the pawl spring died in summer and I cannot find a replacement anywhere, can anybody help ?
I'm sorry David the union man in me like the name "American Classic", just not where they are made, it reminds him or the American F1 Team Haas. The team is owned by russians assembled in England from Italian parts. It's like everything American is made somewhere other then America.
Oh, so everybody who considers 415g is way too much for a road tyre is a weight weenie now. Even a pair of older Schwalbe Marathon Supreme (which are, in theory, touring tyres) in a size 32c were lighter than that, at 380g. Amazing how not even 5 years ago the exact same cycling channels and influencers were discarding 300g tyres for being way too heavy and now everybody suddenly normalized the idea that it's acceptable to ride heavy bike components. 1000+€ groupsets weighing in over 3kg, 3000+€ bikes weighing in nearly 9 kg with pedals and accessories, 1000€+ disc brake wheelsets that weigh as much as a pair of Mavic Aksium wheels from 2008 if you add up the weight of the discs, literally any excuse to promote the agenda of the cycling industry.
Don't kid yourself you can still get decent tires at a reasonable price if you shop around. This channel is a bit like good housekeeping magazine all the things that are advertised are very bloody expensive.
Impressed that you managed to match your kit to the packaging on the tyres here, David
There is a Giro helmet that has the same sunset accent colors.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah he did… lol
I'm not, he's the consumate professional!
I'm going to try these out. Thanks for the review!

I used panaracer on my old 26er
I just ordered the 32mm slicks for my diverge. I use teravail ramparts 32 now. 390 grams.. I'm saving 100 grams going to the tlc slick
Love the jersey David!
Nice tires, great review! Personally, I stick to my Rene Herse ultra supple and light tires, doesn't get any better. Happy trails, Gelach.
I’d love a set of RH but they are $160 a tyre where I can find them in Australia so it’s not really the same market.

Those Krumbien tires look exactly like Teravail Rutland!

What was your long-term review/opinion?

Another great video, David! Any idea if their road tyres would be compatible for Giant's own hookless wheels for my TCR?!
It’s been a few months how are these tires holding up?
Nice jersey
Love the bike.
On their website, it says 100psi max even on road 25c road tires? Is that just for tubeless version or tubed as well?
Hi, I also own a TCR, I have 28mm tires, do 32mm tires have enough clearance? I would like to change to wider tires, the roads of northern Spain are very worn. Thank you
This latest TCR has clearance for 32mm tyres so yes!

for only $30 more you can get a pair of GP5000's lol
Generally you'd find someone riding dura ace won't go cheap tyres.
bold of you to assume everyone can afford high end tires. sincerely, a sora user.
Warning: the sizes are not true. Got the 700x50c tires and they actually measure 45mm, so that's a big difference.
Was looking for 700x44c so maybe I could consider this option! Haha could I check what’s the internal width of your rims? Thank you!
Awesome. I just ordered the 50s for my frame that’s only meant to take 47 so I should be bang on.
Do update on the actual width! I’m on 18mm internal width on my rims.
@@inxlee it’ll be a while they have to get to Australia.
Yeah mine measure more like 47mm so definitely smaller than advertised but that suits me.

Can these be mounted on hookless rims?
Im gonna have to buy a pair of these tires at that price ....wow ....
Maybe my memory is shot, but I recall paying over $100 for conti clinchers in Oz in the early 2000’s….
Probably tyres were quite expensive in Oz pre internet stores.
Bike tyres are ridiculously expensive compared to cars. My cars 21 inch tyres aren't double that of my road bike tyres.
plus $8 for carriage to the UK.

Appropriate for a nation whose demographic and cultural composition is such a diverse melting pot of imports, no?
@@vomErsten No.

Excellent commercial for Taiwan Classic Tires.
32s measuring 29 on 20 rims??? WHAT? lol i think thats more on the tire than the rim
David, you need an Amazon affiliate link, cuz next stop is Amazon
They are in the description 👍
Sad there is no 559 option. As someone that's short & built like a ape. My preferred tire size.
GP5000's with latex tubes and I'm happy
you can find gt5000 for $80 pair

Weird request: Could you sniff your tires and tell me if they smell like xxx? I've already asked Dave Rome and he confirmed my findings.
Cinturato Gravels are 45 euros here, I was able to afford them.
I run Cinturato M’s, both in 650bx50 and 700 and by far the best gravel tires I’ve run. I picked them up for less than 90 USD a pair.
