    Love that last piece of terrain with that overhang, reminds me of that episode of Game of Thrones when Jon snow went to capture a white walker and needed to be saved by Daenerys and Drogon. Congrats on the 200th episode

    Omgoddess, I am soo glad 🤗 I found your channel...
    I'm an arty 🎨 crafter, and I've always been a big believer in finding out what you've got in your home 🏡 before you venture into the
    shops!...🏪
    With my children growing up we loved rainy make & do ☔ days, we made all sorts, pictures made only with things we found on our nature walks, one of my favourite makes was a pair of
    👀🐊👀 "croc-binocs"
    (binoculars in the shape of a crocodiles head) they were toilet roll tubes, yoghurt pots and newspaper soaked in flour & water, then we painted & coated them in pva glue, my daughter still has them and shes 25 now!...
    And funnily enough we made a landscape like yours just not on such a grand scale, we have a lot of great mumories, and the best thing is I now have grandchildren and the "rainy day make & do box" has officially been reinstated!!!...🥳...
    My eldest grandson is 7 and absolutely loves dragons, we've been trying to find a good project to do, he wants to incorporate dragons (obviously)
    So I've come up with an island idea, it's going to be a 3D treasure map including the sea and a pirate ship!, and it's your staggered cliff idea that's given me the inspiration for "Hangmans cliff" we've been planning and sketching out plans for "Dragons 🐲 Hollow" for a while, but I keep trying to put it off until after Christmas... because the updated and alot bigger version of the "rainy day make & do box" is their Christmas present..
    ...🎁🤗🎁...
    I'm soo excited to show him your videos...📽...
    I'm soo sorry I've just realized I'm waffling on & on...
    ...🙄...
    I hope you have a wonderfully magikal Sunday my lovely...
    💫🎨🐉🏝🐉🎨💫

    Really happy to have found this paper mache method. I've been looking for a way to make a pond for my Christmas village, and I think this is exactly what I've been holding out for! From there, I'll expand into D&D terrain for sure.
    One question I had was about your 50/50 glue/water mixture. Do you use the Glue-All for that, or would cheaper white glue be fine? Just wondering since it'll be watered down glue anyway, if it mattered whether I bought some Dollar Tree cheap stuff, while using the Glue-All for all other aspects of the craft. Trying to get the most bang for my buck with the glue.

    • @theDMsCraft
      @theDMsCraft  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Drying times can vary quite a bit due to conditions. A fan or leaving in a hot car will speed up the process. Also when dry to the touch paint on a layer of glue with a wet brush. When fully dry it will harden up quite nicely if you soaked all the towels and TP in the 50/50 solution.

    i have questions
    first, if a minture made of paper mache or paer issue mache like you is good for Painting actylic paints?
    since all my crafting years i made mintures out of Paper mache and that time i uses coloured papers to add colours but now i wanna paint it this
    second, If i made Floor street or medieval Tiles out of your paper mache techique is good? i have a idea if is wet i will use pencil or sitck to create floor tiles
    Third, there a guide videos thar for painting mintures and terrains but short like only 8 minutes instead of 30 minutes

    • @theDMsCraft
      @theDMsCraft  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you make paper mache as I have here you can paint it with acrylics. The paper mache is wet so anything that will bend as it dries will not work. As it drys to the touch you could put a weight on it to keep the tiles flat.

    Congrats...
    As for the video...
    That's one BIG spitball... 😆
    Fantastic though; I can't wait to try it. Reminds me of some of the cave/cavern techniques you showed during your 2.5D Next days - like the natural stone steps leading to a bridge.
    I really like this recent streak of videos you're doing that are oriented around demonstrating techniques, especially showcasing updates to techniques from years ago.
    Will you be demonstrating an updated version of your 3D structure builds with removable outer walls & roof, and 2.5D tile/interiors? Say, your mausoleum graveyard build? I ask because I really want to try out a newer structure build, but almost all crafters use xps foam (I have no plans to get into hotwire table cutting).

    Wow. I mean cool. But. Good grief. This has to be the most work intensive, time intensive, glue heavy and expensive papier mache technique Ive seen ! It's like rich peoples masochist papier mache !

      Looks a bit harder than it is. Cardboard is free and you won't use near to one TP roll or roll of cheap paper towels so that is negligible also. One bottle of Glue-all would work so that is less that 3 bucks. Much less if you buy in bulk. The only thing is the time which i find to be less that normal paper mache. Putting the object in front of a fan or in a hot car speeds the drying considerably.

      @Bork Have you ever even bought terrain or tiles? This is leagues cheaper than any of that bro

      @@BraxtonSharkboy Yes bro. Former scratch builder of terrain from 35mm down to 6mm scales, fantasy and sci fi and buyer of pieces when I couldn't be bothered. Did that for 20 years. Thanks for asking. That it's cheaper than something shop bought is a bit like saying cleaning the yard with a toothbrush is better than getting in a guy to do it for you.
