Chris Collins is one of the most underappreciated houses out there. Their stuff is unique but accessible. Lots of signature worthy profiles but none are boring.
I love Russian tea! It smells like a fall day and a pile of dried leaves after doing yardwork. You know where the staCk of leaves are so high that the leaves on the bottom are damp to wet. That’s what it reminds me of.
Papilefiko! Thanks to your recs, this is my favorite from the house! I actually wear this when i want to feel good and it def puts me in a good mood. The opening preps me for a good 5 hours of a good time!
Russian Tea is amazing but soo expensive. Bought a 3ml decant and loved it but not at the first sniff. I thought it was weird at first but later that day, i sprayed it again and i was like "damn i kinda love this". Something about the smoky leathery tea raspberry is so addictive to me
Oudgalore is my signature fragrance. That fragrance jusr amplifies me. The Chris Collins house does so well for my body chemistry. Can you do a review or short on renissance from the house of Chris Collins please 😊?
Great video as always, JC. I love 40 knots and agree with your comments. Not what i expected and it took a wearing to appreciate it, but boy i love it now. Love how it makes me feel, it jumps off my skin and it's just...so pleasant. I was wearing it last night and my gf said she loved it and I smelled like the lobby of a fancy hotel 🤣🤣
Blind bought 40 Knots. Did NOT like it when I first sprayed it. Was going to list it to sell, tried it again, and then I really appreciated it the second time. Definitely a try before you buy but I did end up really enjoying it.
Strong list, no pun intended. I haven't owned that many fragrances, but regarding performance 2 really stand out: Xerjoff Alexandria 2 and Mancera Red Tobacco. I don't know what they did there but even on my skin I detect them literally 24 hours later. On clothes it's apsurd.
Very recent discovery: Nishane Kredo, also from the time capsule collection. supposed to smell like TF oud wood but cant confirm nor deny. All I know is that the drydown smells magical especially in the air.
Hey Justin, I'm trying to figure out how to organize my fragrances. What do you recommend? 1) By house 2) By style (scent profile/main notes) 3) By season 4) By occasion or something else? Thank you!
@@stayfreshproductions I've got about 100 fragrances. Nothing insane but definitely need some shelf space. I'm leaning towards arranging by style. Blues, greens, gourmands, florals, etc.
For me it has to be Loubiprince from the house of Christian Louboutin, whenever I go somewhere a little more upscale/classy or if I have a really nice date night planned I will most likely reach for that fragrance and I know that it is going to perform and I just enjoy being in that fragrance bubble throughout the night. Definitely suited for the colder months coming up I would say but that would be my top pick for sure.
Armani Code Parfum, Ombre Leather EDP, Sauvage Elixir and Papilefiko (although I've only worn it twice, I was surprised at the longevity it has. And it somehow reminds me of Oud For greatness)
Out of all fragrances that I have now or had (full bottles or samples) , Amouage Opus XIV: Royal Tobacco is the only one that I can say it lasts literally 24 hours on my skin and more and I LOVE that fragrance not for it’s performance but smell so it’s a win win 😁
I like my Amouage perfumes. Don't really care about performance, but it happens they're quite good in that department. Currently, I'm a sucker for King Blue, Royal Tobacco and Jubilation XXV, in no particular order
Wearing Beach Hut as my SOTD 😎👍 I have Russian Tea as well. Don't love it as much as I did when I first got it but it's still an enjoyable fragrance. It's one of those ones that I have to really be in the mood for to wear it.
Nice List 👍 40 Knots is really amazing ❤ (not just because of it's performance) I love the freshness and the ambery nuances of this one and how it evolve on my skin. It is like they combine a citrus woody amber fragrance like Bleu de Chanel Parfum with the ambery and powdery vibes of Dior Ambre nuit with a subtle aquatic, salty touch. I sampled it a few months ago on Justin recommandation and after 2 full wearings i immediately committed to a full bottle. My favorite from Xerjoff collection with Renaissance.
Great list! I really like Ébène Fumé, but haven't been willing to commit to a full bottle. However, I recently tried TF's new Black Lacquer and immediately purchased. Smoky incense, gorgeous! I'm eagerly awaiting breaking out my Papilefiko when the weather turns cooler; I love that it's their scent for Reykjavik, one of my favorite cities in the world. I agree that Oud Bleu Intense is gorgeously fresh and intriguing -- got a decant but it's been hard to find a full bottle at a reasonable price, they seem to be sold out lots of places.
@@stayfreshproductions very curious to hear your take... it's super smoky, less complexity than Ébène Fumé, but also much more intense and to my tastes more intriguing. I'll keep my eyes peeled for your impressions.
40 knots, Papilefiko, Enclave, Burlington 1819, Gris Charnel Extrait... just to name a few. I know so many wonderful fragrances because of you. Really love your videos and taste.
Such a great list💯, recently got Pour un homme de Caron le Soir, so underrated, beautiful presentation and such a beautiful scent, smells incredibly elegant, i get kind of a mix between Prada luna rossa black and la nuit de l’homme with a more natural and enhanced lavender. I def recommend it, has become one of my favs instantly, and its affordable :).
Gucci Guilty Elixir is unique, gets a ton of compliments and i can still smell it faintly after a shower. I get just a many many men asking what it is as women saying they love the smell.
Cant thank you enough for suggesting Danae even when the notes suggested it might not be up my alley but i found it to be a lovely scent. Now im gonna get 40 knots from this list. Thank you again JC
2nd Soul is the best CONSIDERATELY performing fragrance in any frag collection (i.e. it's not offensive like Sauvage Elixir) and is STILL the GOAT. Y'all musta forgot, but good thing I'm an effing G and I still hold it down for 2nd Soul, even though it's long gone (except for the 1000 or so bottles that George Z is hoarding in his basement that he's bound to sell in the inevitable re-release, a la Business Over Pleasure). JC, you BEST be putting me at the top of the list when this happens, or...else? Much love, homie!
Man, where to even start. This list has frags & or profiles I absolutely loved and or frags towards the top of my "need to try" lists. The video: -As you know, i enjoy your style of humor included in the video. In particular, the face warp 😂. -😢 oooof. Man thats real right there 12:51 . I think any of us that do try to add an element of consideration for our chosen environment can relate. -lastly... man, how you guys cram so much info/personal experiences/ ect in an understandable fasion is a skill in itself. Packing that into such a short time frame is near impossible for me. I've never been able to "microwave & serve" thoughts/opinions/concepts like that. To me, transmitting data like that takes me time.
I’m not an expert in Oud, but I would imagine that if you’re paying luxury prices from a reputable brand, the Oud is natural. But synthetic Oud isn’t a terrible thing!
Man it’s so hard to pick one that could last the entire day. For me it would be in between Haltane, Layton Exclusif, 40 knots, and vanilla oud. Layton exclusif is one however where it really needs to be the right occasion. That fragrance will last you 15 hours and can wear you if you don’t dress it right. If I really had to pick one, it would be 40 knots. I too was fooled by online reviews and bought it for what I thought would be a marine fragrance. I smelled it the first time and was totally confused and even didn’t really like it. After a couple of wears, it has become one of my dumb reach fragrances. It is such a unique smell that you just can’t get tired of once you get used to it. It is one of my most complimented fragrances just because of how unique and yet not overpowering scents.
On my skin lot of frangrances don't want to last. But when I spray ganymede extrait it lasts days on me. My gf says she can smell if im in the building while she's outside and im inside wearing this
you weren't lying about papilefiko. The opening is very familiar; a green barbershop fragrance for sure. It's a love for me and I'm hoping to pick up a bottle soon. As far as performance + scent, my vote goes for Town & Country. Awesome scent and another solid recommendation on your part.
Justin you should do an episode titled “ 10 fragrances that used to be mine, but I gave to my wife” 🤣… because my wife has taken some of my unisex fragrances from MindGames and Day Three (Bani)… I know Grace has to have a few of yours by now. Maybe have her explain why she loves them? Just an idea . Keep up the great content
Chris Collins Oud Galore is amazing many others from this house should be in your collection Harlem nights Tokyo blue African Rooibos or long kiss good night are just a few do sample this house.
I was recently gifted a full sized Le labo myrrhe 55 . The longevity and sillage is borderline ATOMIC 😅 Still can’t justify the price point even if it was a gift
Maybe I got a bad batch of 40 knots, but I could bathe in my bottle and it lass about an hour. That’s weird because xerjoff scents tend to last forever on me c
Hi Justin Have you tried Angham from Oman Luxury and Patchouli Sauvage Eau de Parfum from HOUBIGANT PARIS ? If you get the chance to sample them please can you let me your thoughts.. thank you.
I ran THROUGH my BOTTLE of Papilefiko. I plan to BUY another BOTTLE. I also have Russian Tea. I usually wear 3-4 sprays. I get 10-12 hours of WEAR and GOOD but NOT beast mode PROJECTION.
Bro, my skin literally eats fragrances. My normal daily driver during the middle of the summer time and I live in Pennsylvania, so it gets hot and humid is a layer combination of Tom Ford noir, extreme parfum, and Tom Ford black orchid perfume works perfect.
