I have used heat shrink tubing for this for 14-15 years and it works VERY well. I put a short plastic or rubber peg at the tip to make it strong against wear before I heat shrink the tube around the tip and the peg. This is a VERY light, easy and cheap solution. There are different colors of heat shrink tubing, so you can always play with that if you want. My daughter has pink on her bow and she loves it. I use brown on my bows.
Hell yeah buddy! Like you,I've struggled with this issue since, well, early 00's,lol Rubber, leather, etc, have been lost. Even bought silicon wrist rocket bands and cut them up,and still lose them to the rubber degrading. Have the tape coming my way soon now, thanks for the tip@
Such a great idea, Jason always learning good stuff from you, my brother by the way just got a lease on the north side of Jacksonville, Florida, where I live actually above Jacksonville more towards the Georgia Florida line hundred acres of lease land that’s mine for the duration of five years and it’s just me and two other guys it’s packed full of hogs and deer. If you ever wanna come hunting, let me know you’re welcome to come anytime you want alone or with me
Ok I have an idea. The leather limb protectors. Sow a small strap with Velcro on it and glue a small piece of Velcro to your bow limbs. Then it doesn’t fall off and easily removes for stringing. 🤔
Hockey tape or tennis racket tape works well too. A note for the rubber ones add alittle heat and it’ll shrink a bit (not a lot because it will expand too and or hurt the limbs if laminated) or buy a size smaller and throw alittle wax to help slip it on. Love the stealth strip idea too!
Hey Jason i had same problem with those rubber protectors i cut them as well and lose them , i started using black rubber electrical double sided tape i started cutting a 1/4x 1/4 piece of the tape and stick it to limb tip then put protector on it wont come off and if needed you can still get it off without damaging limb tip then just replace with new small piece but it will keep it on if you still want to use that protector and cut it down
I usually put the rubber ones on then cut out the string grooves put the string on and bingo it can't come off the string pinches it on , maybe an idea for some other viewers , good idea with the strips too but I just have an aversion to adhesives , that's just me though 😎
I’m pretty sure the bow tip protectors (from 3Rivers anyways) can be heat moulded for a tighter fit. Also, maybe a dab of silicone on the limb tip then slide the rubber protector over?
great ideas. I like my string loops super tight. so I have to remove the rubber to make brace height adjustments. the stealth strip is my new favorite.

Thank you. I shoot alot of weddings in Jacksonville. Beautiful area. sounds like you have a perfect set up there.
Great tips. The wire nut on the bow hangers is a great thing. I started doing that 25-30 years ago and it really works well

You might cut protector bout 1/8” longer to make up for the room tape takes but it works great
@@rodneyburton8078 excellent idea! Thank you
Thank you Excellent Reallly appreciate it.
Great tip!!😊
😂
Thats a good new tip I haven’t heard before. Have you considered heat shrink tubing before? Your vinyl tubing idea made me think of it
shrink tubing might work as well.
A dab of silicone glue in the rubber tip protector seals the limb tip from water. Easy enough to pull it off as silicone glue is not overly strong.
I'm gonna have to put some Stel strip on my bow because both of the points are really Pointe and sharp.

great idea on cutting for the string

Been using electrical tape for years on my longbow tips.
another great idea
Dr. Shoals mole skin! And it didn’t take me 8 minutes to tell you!
sounds like you should start a youtube channel! Then you can make fast videos.
I've been watching your channel for a couple months and you talk a lot about longbow hunting but I've yet to see you actually hunt.
That statement doesn't really deserve a comment.
