Walt Disney World's POP Century Resort Walking Tour | Hotel Tour, Pool Locations & More!

- In today's video we visit Walt Disney World's POP Century Resort. Pop Century is a value resort themed to different decades ranging from the 1950s all the way up to the 1990s. We walk around the grounds and show off all of the decorations and theming. We also show off all of the themed pools as well as the front lobby, gift shop, and cafeteria. Pop Century also has one of the largest arcades I've seen since I started going to the resorts to show them off. Of the two low cost Disney hotels we have looked at so far this one is my favorite. We usually always stay at Pop when we go. Little tip. If you're waiting for the bus and the art of animation bus shows up first...GET ON IT!!! it's a short walk from the bus stop at art to Pop. And may even save you some time!!
I have no idea why this never occurred to us, but we'll definitely be using this next trip!

I did that in 2017 when we stayed at All Star Sports. When Music showed up first I just took Music and Walked to SPORTS. It was a Nice walk.
If I were staying at Pop Century I'd probably go to the food court at AoA. From what I've heard they're pretty much polar opposites of each other.
I really love this hotel. My family wasn't the wealthiest, but we could still afford to take 2-3 day vacations to Disney World every once in a while (we lived in Florida). No parent wants to compromise their child's experience because of money, and that's what this hotel is perfect for. Colorful, well themed, and filled with activities so I felt I was getting the full experience. As an adult I still get excited seeing the statues of Disney characters scattered throughout the resort. One day, even if I can afford the nicer hotels, I will be sure to give my children a Pop Century experience.
knokout1 same exact story here man, I feel like as a kid I didn't really appreciate the sacrifices my parents made to take our family here, watching this video really makes me appreciate my mom a lot for letting me have such a wonderful experience here.
knokout1 I went there last year and it was so fun and now I’m going in a month and a half and we’re staying in this animal kingdom resort for a week and a half do you know if that place is any better or as good as pop century
knokout1 I have stayed at all levels. I’ve stayed club level at the Polynesian and have stayed in value resorts. I can afford to stay in Deluxes but I don’t want to pay $400+ dollars a night for a room that would be mediocre in the real world. So, my next trip we are staying at Pop Century. We have fun no matter where we stay.

In 2010, i stayed at the POP. I didnt get my room location request but i had no complaints as i was placed on the top floor of the 50's facing Hourglass lake, midway. I discovered that you can watch Illumations from there!!!
I really love that all of the comments about this hotel says that it's beautiful, cause it really is, the guard always said welcome home every time we came back at night from the parks and it was so true, you feel at home. Can't wait to go again
I’ve stayed at this resort twice and it’s really nice!! They play movies on a giant blow up screen next to some of the pools almost every night and the hotel staff is so helpful. And oh my gosh,,,, the fooD IM IN LOVE

Oh man. My parents surprised my brother and I with a trip to Disney World when we were 10 and 8. I know we stayed at Pop Century but as soon as you panned over to the bowling pin staircase a ton of memories came flooding back to me. What a special place, I hope to go back someday
Previously read where the area that became AoA, was intended to become the 1900's through the 1940's but due to the econ impact of 9/11, the plan was suspended. Later, the property was re imagined as AoA.

I stayed there in 2014 and 2016. Will be there again June of 2018. It was clean and quiet and all we needed since we spent most of the time at the parks. Thanks Tim for bringing back fond memories!!
Love Pop Century Resort. The newly renovated rooms are awesome!
Right! So contemporary and the double shower heads and huge screen t.v. The room has all the amenities as a moderate and it just feels so summery with all the palm trees!

POP and A.O.A. are the two resorts we like to stay at when we stay on property. It’s like having twice the resort, food and shopping options for the price of one!!

I'd always gotten the Impression that Pop was a "cheap" Resort. In every sense of the word. Glad to be pleasantly surprised.

Tim,art of animation was never going to a million wing.it was to be a sister resort theme of 1900 they 1940. That is why the lake is hourglass lake and genation gap is the bridge between them

This is our favorite resort! The food is great, rooms are nice and it’s usually pretty quiet! We stay there at least 2 times a year!

I'm surprised you didn't point out that the giant cell phone actually had the phone number to call to make reservations for Disney World.

Really enjoyed this. Pop Century is where we stay when we travel to Disney World. We are in Washington State so Florida is quite a distance. We like inexpensive resorts as we spend very little time at our room. When we travel to Disney we do Disney all day and into the night. There is a lot to fit into a very limited time and paying for a fancy room we will spend little time in makes little sense. That said, we stayed at the 60's on the back by the lake. It was fantastic. Quiet. We could swim in the beautiful pool and catch a bus to where ever we wanted every hour on the hour. The food may seem limited, but we spent a lot of time eating at the parks so we found it was more than sufficient. For us, it is the perfect place to be.

I stayed adjacent to the Computer Pool in May of 2006 and I'll tell you that the Pop Century Resort was 100% fun!

This will be our third year to POP we love it its a great resort.
Me and my son stayed at Pop and it is our favorite resort - that Pac-Mac air hockey game is awesome - we played every day - so much fun
I love Disney's Pop Century Resort! It is my favorite of the value resorts. I always request the 50s buildings 4th floor. I have stayed there 8 times and only once did I not get what I requested. Staying there again in Feb. 2018. Great video Tim!

M*A*S*H was one of my favorite shows when I was little it was also my mom's way of knowing it was time for dinner (it was reruns by the time I was born in 91)
I am so happy you went to Pop!!!! We will be there in December, the week before Christmas. Our daughter will be celebrating her 16th birthday. We have stayed at Pop Century for the last 4 times we have went to Disney. We love watching your videos.

We stayed in the 60's facing hour glass lake and LOVED it! We were still close to the main building and the Hippy-Dippy Pool, but it was relatively quiet w/ a pretty view!
I would have LOVED that new rumored wing they were talking about awhile back. Ugh, would have been cool as I am a 90s baby. The very start of the 90s.
We stayed there a week the first summer it was opened. It is more spread out than All Stars Resorts. I remember it being terribly hot waiting out in the sun at the bus stop. I hope they have added an awning on the building like All Stars to wait under. The rooms are a little smaller than All Stars. It was nice, but not my favorite. Good to see that Disney has enclosed all the pools with fences. Not everyone watches their small children when they leave the main building and head for their room. Over the years, I have witnessed several small child make a beeline for the pool and almost fall in. Plus it helps keep out visitors that are not staying at that resort from pool hopping.

This is our resort when we come home again. We have stayed there three times and love it. We have been talking about skipping this coming up early June trip to take a year off. Then I watch these videos and second guess myself...lol
The first (and currently only time) I've been to Disney World, we stayed there and we were in the 80's section. I honestly loved it. It may have only been for a few days since it was our schools senior trip, but I loved it. Loved the food court, loved the arcade (this was also when the arcade allowed a prize area), loved the decorations, and just really enjoyed my time there. If/When I go back, I will probably stay there again, not only because it is one of the more cheaper resorts, but because I enjoyed it. Yeah some things could be better, but that's how a lot of things are in the world, lol. I would recommend this resort to pretty much anyone!.
YES POP CENTURY! My family and I stayed here in September of last year. It was so so awesome! I miss it so much. My fiance and I are honeymooning to All-Star Sports, but I wish we were honeymooning to Pop Century again. It is just a great resort overall.
We stayed in the 60's section. The Play dough statute was my favorite!!!
I know this is an old comment, but we're planning a trip for November 2019 with our then 2.5 year old. How was traveling to and from the parks for you?
We stayed here once. We got placed in a room behind one of those giant people dancing. Our view wasn't great, but we were in Disney the whole time. It's a fun little resort.
Stayed two nights at Pop in September (we were in 50s) and really liked it. Rooms are on the smaller side but its a value resort. Was also impressed by how big the merch store was in the main building. Would definitely stay here again.
I've stayed at POP many times and love it! Never had a problem with noise, buses, or anything! Thank you for doing a video on it!
We've stayed at this one many times. Not only is it usually the cheapest to stay at, but IMO, it's the best because of the nostalgia. Tim is right about the 50's being quiet. One of our stays was facing that lake and it's amazingly quiet. The pool areas are usually pretty bright and loud (especially around spring break!). Something we noticed at Pop was the bunnies. There are so many wild bunnies roaming the grounds, it's adorable!

Pop has the best resort arcade. I've been to many of wdw resorts. Trust me, it's the best! I love Pop! Great job Tim!
LOVE Pop Century. Stayed there twice and love every minute.
This is my go to spur of the moment hotel. As a pass holder and Florida resident it is just as affordable as a standard chain hotel off property. I love the big Mickey phone and always swing by for a photo no matter where I'm staying!

The arcade in Pop Century really needs to be 80's retro. I would stay there just for that.

We love Pop Century. It is a nice quiet place to stay and what's also nice is you can walk over to Art of Animation to see what food options they have for that day/evening.
We stayed at Pop Century for the first time ever back at the end of May. At the time, we had gotten a discount price because they were under construction. We were able to get one of the newly refurbished rooms, and it was beautiful. In the morning before we had to leave, we took a walk around and I would definitely stay there again. Between the beautiful new rooms, the very nice Resort, the easy walk to Art of Animation and they're great food court, and coming soon the gondola system? This is going to be our Resort.!

I went to pop back in June, loved it! It was just as quiet back then too in the summer fun. Pop is my favorite value priced resort (I say value price because although art of animation is considered value, it’s priced as a moderate... ☹️) but pop is awesome and the staff is 100% Disney staff, friendly and fun. And literally there is ALWAYS something to do there. I told my daughters father that one time I would like to go to pop and just stay there for my whole visit without going to Disney itself because the resort has that much to do 😁

This is our favorite value resort!
I stood at this resort. The layout was confusing for me because I could never figure out where to go to get back to my room. I also had this delicious tye dye cheese cake. LOVED IT.
Pop century is my favorite! It's honestly the best.

That Arcade looks Waaay more fun than the one at All Star Sports. When we stayed at POP we stayed in the 50s. Our pool was a Bowling Pin.
Our favorite value resort for the price and we have stayed at every single one!!! Have stayed at POP many times when on a budget or just having a quick trip. I can't wait to go back to stay in a refurbished room!

I wandered over to there while I was staying in The Art Of Animation Resort, both resorts are so cool!
We have stayed at POP several times. It's our favorite value resort. We stayed our 1st time about a year after it opened. Music from the decades was pipped in each building. It was pretty loud back then. We have stayed since then several times and haven't noticed it being so loud.
I had the pleasure of staying at this resort from March 3rd-8th 2020, and it was the first WDW Resort I have stayed at ( There was Fort Wilderness my family stayed back in 1991, but I was too young to remember). Anyway, loved the place, food was decent, prices were manageable, and the layout was cool...

My family and I took a 5 day trip to Disney back in 2014 and stayed at Pop Century. It was honestly really amazing, one of the main things I remember was just wanting my parents to take me to the arcade every day after we came back from the parks lol. I really recommend this place especially for families like mine that don't have all the money in the world to spend on a vacation

We stayed at Pop in August and had a lovely time! The renovated rooms are very nice and clean (it's amazing how much of a difference queen beds make), and it was quiet even back in August. The bus stations being far away was the main downside, but at least the buses went from Pop to destination without stopping at any other resorts. The food court was usually delicious too, especially the mussels at the Italian section. Definitely our favorite Value! (Plus, Power Rangers on the wall in the lobby. Kids didn't care, but I my husband and I geeked out) Thanks for the video!
I love Pop Century Resort ^-^ great place to stay at Disney in my opinion!
Tip for Large Families. We have 6 kids, and need 2 rooms. At Pop (or any of the value resorts) we always request connecting rooms and it is still MUCH Cheaper than any of the other suite style rooms at other WDW resorts. POP and AofA are definitely our favorites!

I love Pop! Fun fact: there is a resident turkey that lives on the grounds! My husband saw him over by the 70s building near the lake.

My family and I stayed at POP Centery one time and I loved it. I do see some improvements like the gate around the pools. I did love walking around the resort and reading all the information about each year. When we stayed we couldn't cross the bridge yet due to they were building Art of Animation. This year when we go we will be staying at Art of Animation. We are excited!
