Sl2 outsole is not as grippy as the puma grip, but I think it will hold on for a long distance. I've done some run in the SL2 and can barely notice any wear on the outsole.
Team Sl2 - 2 months, 330km, perfect shape. Universal training shoe, workhorse. Ideal to take on 2 week holidays (tested) Normal shoe size 45, Sl2 -> 46
Unboxed new Velocity Nitro 3s today. Took them for a slow run to see how long it'd take for them to go plush.. After just 5km they'd loosened up & felt great. Keepers
I find the upper of the SL2 really comfortable but it's not a shoe I find easy to raise my pace..too squishy especially in the heel...Prefer the Velocity for picking up pace out of two shoes and even though the Velocity is heavier feels lighter on foot to me😊
I have both SL2 and Velocity Nitro 3. Personally, I like SL2 more than VN3, I'm still waiting for my VN3 to break in because compared to SL2, it's quite hard straight out the box. SL2 has the cushion and bounce on my first run. I'm in 30kms with VN3 and still breaking in. Maybe it'll take 50km to fully break in. Hopefully.
The best surprise and best daily trainer of the year for me is the Puma Velocity Nitro 3. Especially when I did not like version 2 , but I gave a chance to Puma and was amazingly impressed how well it works for speedy sessions because of its speed, stability and grip. I now wonder if Puma will wait another two years to launch the Velocity Nitro 4 ...
I've started using running shoes in everyday life for comfort as normal everyday trainers don't do it for me anymore. Which one would your recommend for that ?
Not tried the Velocity's but just got rid of my SL2's after 60k. They're a great shoe but the only shoes I've had that consistently gave me blisters after every run. Find it odd as I use Takumi Sen 10's for all out shorter efforts and have no problems with them. Swapped the SL2's for NB Rebel V4's and they work much better for me for daily work 🤷♂
Puma and NB shoe length's are more or less the same. Adidas however seems to be 1 size smaller ie. 1cm shorter in the front. My toe's tend to rub on the front or upper which causes blisters on my toe's or nails to turn purple. Whenever I go for a run I almost always ten to lean towards my puma velocity, foreverun or deviate shoes.
Adidas sl2 is narrow . Nb rebel wider cut . Oddly adidas Boston 12 is pretty wide for adidas and works great for me. I am avoiding both of these as need some width in toe box .
@@pbnotj1 It is odd. I've had multiple pairs of Adizero shoes (using Takumi Sen' 10's for lung busting efforts currently) and the SL2's are the only Adidas shoes I've ever had this issue with. Actually enjoyed using them but felt like I was keeping Compeed in business after every run! Hey ho.....loving the Rebel's at least!
I have been using barefoot shoes for walking and best decision I have made, been wearing the Hykes Flex and love how they feel, once you get used to them you will never go back to regular shoes.
Have both and love them equally! Spot on with verdict , even use puma as trail to road shoe,

not 45 1/3?
Yep, u are right. 45 1/3 too narrow -> 46
Also need a 46 but normally have 44 2/3
Hello, what socks do you use in SL2? Are you using standard cotton socks? Or Running Thin socks?
@@rayvinceedelcastillo8170 running socks / thin to normal

Tbh, I like both shoes. Puma and Adidas really nail the design and performance of both shoes.
I loved both previous versions of the Velocity Nitro, and have just picked up a pair for $110 NZ (about £50). Looking forward to getting them on foot!
Team Puma ❤

Don't these two shoes make a good combo in a two shoe rotation? I hope you can include the Saucony Ride 17 into this discussion in a future video.
I like both shoes and agree that the outsole of Velocity 3 is better than SL2 and that SL2 is better for interval sessions
PumaGrip is great in the winter when I might have some snow/ice on the path. (From Colorado)
Nothing can beat puma grip out there 😅 it's like a tank
continental beats it 100%
I just bought a pair of Velocity Nitro 3 for 2700 PHP (35 GBP). Excited to use them.
San bro? Shopee?
I like both shoes but I had to go up 1/2 size in both. The U.S. version.
Really like the SL2 since it is more bouncy but unfortunately the medial side feel rather unstable to me

Had both kept the puma. The sl2 was a Little to soft

I have the same experience with the SL2. Having blisters in the arch of my right foot every after run. 😢
Team Puma ❤
the velocity nitro 3 has no bounce and is more like a brick. puma needs to get rid of the pro foam and just make it all nitro

that's what all barefoot users say initially. they all end up back to cushioned shoes in a few years
