  • After learning that elite runner Molly Seidel puts 90 miles per week in her Velocity Nitro 3s, I committed to running all of my weekly mileage in my pair. I managed to rack up 100 miles over the course of six days, including multiple double days, a rainy run testing the Puma Grip and a 22 mile long run on the treadmill. This video documents those six days. Full review coming later today.
    0:00 - Day 1
    0:36 - Day 2
    1:30 - Day 3
    6:13 - Day 4
    13:34 - Day 5
    14:56 - Day 6

    P.S. I was using Strava math so 12 + 46 = 59 ;)

    Just got my Pace 3 about 2 months ago and absolutely LOVE it over my Apple Watch as well! Best watch I ever had :)

      i'm enjoying mine so far - battery life is the biggest upgrade. haven't charged since sunday AM and it's at 71%. apple watch would be at 71% by the time i was done making my coffee 😂

    Great review. The Puma Deviate Nitro 2 WTR is not waterproof but water repellent. I ordered a pair 2 months ago. It does keep the water out much longer than other non-repellent shoes but still lets some water through after a while (around 15 minutes in heavy rain). The good thing is that the shoe doesn't get soaked in water even in heavy rain.

      That's good to know. Sounds similar to my triumph 21 runshield - I'll have to do a comparison with those two and throw in a goretex shoe to see how much better it is

    Bought a cheap shoe dryer off amazon for after wet runs , game changer 👊

    I have the WTR Deviate Nitro 2. I feel they do a good job of keeping enough water at bay and feet warm on my winter runs. I like the fact that I also can pick up the pace in them.

    Finally you got a proper running watch. Based on other reviews, the HRM on Coros isn’t that accurate, the Coros arm HRM strap monitor is highly recommended to pair along with the watch. Looking forward to the full review of the Puma tomorrow 👍

      @@JoutarouKuujou1 yes, thats even more accurate. May be an idea for a follow on video - measure accuracy between chest strap vs arm strap 😂😂😂

      the apple watch was great for me for 3+ years of running - it's def a solid running option but i wanted to try something different. in terms of the heart rate monitor, i ran with a polar chest strap for a while but found the apple watch heart rate monitor was just as good as long as i had the watch fastened tight. from the 22 miler i did with both the coros and apple the heart rate data was almost identical which is a good sign for the coros (again, it just needs to be cranked tight). i don't love running with extra gadgets and am not married to heart rate training so will prob rock with the watch solo for now without the band. i still have the polar tho so maybe i can do a 3 way comparison - thanks for the idea!

    I used my deviate nitro 2 for some soft trail and trail+road runs and the puma grip was awesome. The water resistant version (which i have) can handle just a bit of drizzling not proper rain 😬
    Coros pace 3 top value for money 😁

    • @supwell
      @supwell  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      thanks for the insight - that's disappointing! i wish these brands would just license goretex instead of making a halfway version. and i'm enjoying the pace 3 so far - can't believe the feature set it offers for the price

    Pace 3 is working real well for me. I charge it now and then whether it needs it or not - 7-10 days. I also got the COROS heart rate arm band and think it's a great companion for a little more reliability on the HR.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      currently on day 3 without charging and it's on 79% 🤯 trying to see how long it can go without charging. and the heart rate has been decent so far - comparable to the apple watch which was really accurate for me. i don't love running with extra gadgets but i do have a polar chest strap lying around if i want a little more precision

    Does this mean you're almost done with your MBA (?) ? If so, congratulations. What a big obligation to be lifted from you.
    I find that I probably could have gone down 1/2 size in the Hyperion Max so maybe Brooks run roomy. Also, nice cinematic touches with the black & white for previous footage; the lacing up each day a la Mr. Rogers; and finishing with the cliffhanger.

    Should’ve purchased the Garmin 965. I get at least 7 days on a full charge plus the display is beautiful. I do run with my Apple Watch for phone 📞 connection.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      have heard good things about that as well! i wanted to try coros because i like how they're offering runners an option that significantly undercuts the market - the pace 3 is less than half the price of the 965 🤯 the display is one area that's lacking though, even compared to my three year old apple watch. i'll do an update/review once i have a few more days with it

    Don’t you do a shoe rotation? Let the shoe foam rest for a few days would help the run. 😂… look like your shoes are your babies !!! 😊

  • @Wings_nut
    @Wings_nut 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Back in the day, I'd buy two pairs of the same daily trainer, and alternate them every other day. The thought was that it gave the midsole a chance to expand, and the shoes last longer. With today's technology, is that still applicable? Thx

    • @supwell
      @supwell  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yes especially with softer foams like the profly+ in the mach 5 and fresh foam in the 1080, i've found that letting the shoe rest for a day or two helps it rebound - also increases the life of the shoe, especially in the case of the mach 5

    More cushioning? I have a pair Brooks Hyperion Max (the David Goggins of shoes) and find they are great for for distances for up to 12miles. Not sure how they would compare to these, harder or softer?!

    • @supwell
      @supwell  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great comparison - these are pretty similar in spirit to the Hyperion max but a tad softer. Also a little friendlier for relaxed running since the Hyperion max really punishes heel striking from that cutout
