We used to catch monster sized croakers back in the 80's.... they would get in the 20"-25" range very great eating.. but since guide populations blew up down here with croaker soakers we very rarely see them over 10"...
Croaker is my favorite to eat (Chesapeake Bay area). Enjoyed the TP conversation. My daughters boyfriend recently bought a used Volvo for $2000 and 3 rolls of TP.
Lol I love this video. Especially the end. In my opinion maybe your best video yet. You two make some of the best videos on TH-cam. Keep up the good work.
Heat your lemon for maybe 30 secs in the microwave and roll it on the counter till it gets soft before you cut and squeeze... You'll get more juice that way.
1) that's the biggest Croaker I've ever seen. 2) egg, Zatarain's fish fri with black pepper in a bag. 3) shake & fry. 4) epic just as it is or in a taco. It tastes just like redfish, you just don't get much. The Croaker here are half that size. In the Chesapeake in late April, early May you can catch these in the hundreds. They're a lot of work but so tasty it's worth it. When I'm done cleaning them I put a little water in a hefty bag, fill it with the guts and freeze it, then chum with it on my next fishing trip. Thank you for tasting my local staple fish. Try breading and frying them next time.
We used to catch croaker all the time.and we always ate them. A sweat tasting fish. I'm glad you finally tasted them. Besides Puddin knows how to cook fish.
I had plenty of TP and paper towels during the lockdown. I made it a habit years ago to stockup for events such as this. I had so much that I had enough to last a year and help out others in time of need. As for food, I couldn't stockup as much as the paper products I had and fortunately none of the stores ran out out of food. Since I'm retired military, I do my shopping at the Commissary and Exchange, and when the lockdown was announced people went crazy at those stores also and cleaned them out of all the cleaning supplies and paper products for this madness. Most of the food they had plenty of but the instant type foods and ramen went real quick. I noticed coffee doubling in price a few times but it kept reverting to the original price, I don't know what was up with that price gouging. I remember the lines outside the stores of people waiting to get inside and when the workers were restocking the shelves there were people waiting for whatever they were stocking and sometimes just handed it to the people right off the pallet instead of putting on the shelf.
Been telecommuting and staying inside - Los Angeles is a no go zone - love your videos!!! Fresh air and you both do such a good job and make your videos so informative and fun to watch - Thank you!!!!
Be careful of the lemon in the cast iron. The acid will strip the seasoning off. 3 years of developing the season on my pan and my wife removed it in one salmon dish. Neither of us knew it would happen until I researched it. Her meal was delicious even if the pan needed much work to bring back. You guys do great videos. Thank you. I bought a bracelet last year. I probably need a keychain next.
Boy! do I remember the days when we had the corker run here in South Texas. They are the best eating fish. Now days with all the Corker going to speckle trout fisherman. We don't see those runs anymore.
Yo! I'm an grocery worker. I am the grocery Forman of a store in Lakeview, Oregon. I'm trying to keep the dry groceries in stock. But our warehouse is running low. In hard times. Thank about those men and woman that are putting themselves on the front lines. This is a new war. I'm doing my best to support my community. For my job the best I can.
Croaker are absolutely delicious! Underrated table fare......I grew up on white trout, mullet, pigfish, and croaker! The forgotten 3 mile bridge in Pensacola was a fishing Mecca before the hurricane that destroyed the fishing bridge....we would even catch King Mackerel via kite fishing Fromm this bridge! To get back to my original point, croakers are great eating!
Darcizzle- If you can't find roll towels. Go to Office Depot and get C-fold or Multi-fold towels. They should still have some left in stock. Move fast though.
Love some of the recipes you're doing there Brian they're running about what I would be doing to them. I would love to see you use that smoker of yours more though
Croaker is a popular fish here in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. I’ve heard it called trash fish but I don’t like the texture of trout. Though I love flounder my favorite fish is croakers!
Croaker are very prevalent up here in the mid-atlantic. We often get larger classes of them. I've thrown them back if they were under 18 inches and have caught them over 22 inches. It's not unusual to catch a cooler full in just a couple of hours when they're running good.
My favorite bay fish is sail cats mangrove and specs and if I am lucky I will catch a keeper red but I honestly think mangrove then sail cats are my top 2 fav bay fish
We ate a lot of croaker when I was a teenager. Then something happened and they became contaminated with iodine. You could smell a strong stench of iodine when you cut them open. This was back in the 70s in Florida panhandle.
Why are.boat ramps closed, not a place I’d go to socialize but to get away. Also golf courses, how close do you get to another golfer except on the tee boxes and greens, and I keep my distance there. Back swings can be dangerous. Oh, love the channel.❤️👍
Brian, although I still envy you, I really wouldn't want the "challenges" your are faced with! She's a handful, but I adore her........from a distance! 🙆♂️
It's hysterical when Darci goes on a rant and gets frustrated. LOL!

We used the croakers for bait for giant amberjack and giant grouper. You should have put that croaker on a big rod and reel like a 4ot or 6ot
croaker is a great fish to eat.

The nicer you are to your mechanic. The faster you get your boat back. I always bump My favorite customers up to the front of the line.

Croker was my childhood favorite to eat. I would scale them and fry them whole

What size cast net are you throwing?
Wonder why they would close the ramps? If everyone just keeps their distance at the ramp is all you need.
Brian, although I still envy you, I really wouldn't want the "challenges" your are faced with! She's a handful, but I adore her........from a distance! 🙆♂️
