I recently was gifted a Mesa Booogie Transatlantic T-30 along with a Mesa Booogie 2x12 cabinet with a couple authentic Greenback Celestian speakers. It's everything shown here and more.
... I was playing with my band around 3 hour's ago and cranked the clean to 11. Marshall level natural over people. BUY THIS AMP PEOPLE!
I've just turned mine on waiting for the tubes to begin glowing a bit.... Great amp especially with my 2x12 cabinet with authentic Greenback Celestian speakers.

Great video! I got of these and was perfect in the mix with a 7 piece band while playing outside. I'm getting a 2nd one for playing in tandem with more headroom.

I was debating for a while between the TA30 and the rectoverb and wound up going with the TA30. Just seemed more versatile to me than the rectoverb. I think the Rectoverb lends a thumpier low end, great for metal. Love the clipped tweed sound with reverb on both of these amps though! My goodness
I had the same feeling about Boogies. They sound very good on their own, perhaps not blow-your-mind good, but you can't fault all the greats who use them and get incrdible sounds live and on record.

@AnOddMusician Yup, although its relatively new.. I'm pretty sure its 25 watts and costs somewhere near $1000 for the Head..

Just bought one today from GuitarGuitar although Andertons stock it (sorry Mr LC & Mr RSC!!). Beautiful cleans and sweet gain with oodles of 'honk'. There are lots of tweaking switches and stuff but they are really easy to understand - ultimately for a live gig you have two channels and two foot switches. Real low weight combo (1x12), reasonable output, looks good (whoaaa - blue light!!) and sounds sweet. What more can you want?
OK....... it could cost less - but just try it. Nice.

@guitarzz24 Its a new signature Tele for Blur's axe man, Graham Coxon. Its only available in Europe (but Andertons can ship it world wide!), and we'll have a video up on this guitar sometime in the next 3-4 weeks.

@gbsons True although Strat on a plexi is a win combination.I played this Bogner model which used these greek letters for indications with a Les Paul Traditional and it was one of the best classic rock sounds i heard
I think some amps really fit certain types of guitars. For me this would be a strat amp

Chapters rules, I wish a could buy any guitar Rob has played in the hopes some of his DNA is still there which would improve my playing instantly! I love the look and sound of the TA-30, but need more gain. At that price I shouldn't need pedals! Hope you do a comparison with the EVH 5150iii mini, want your opinion on that one!
Mesa Amps are cool but just haven't found one that would replace my Bassman 59' or Supersonic 22. Too many switching options it gets a bit confusing. It seems like I should like them based upon the price and reputation but just not a tone that makes me say "wow".
@S4dist1cK Yup - the old couch just couldn't take the weight of me & Chappers any more!!
they are trying to go for consistency I think, and on the website is does offer explaining about the bias issue, it has to do with class A/B problems with mixed matched adjusted biases form one tubes to another in push pull config, or something to that extent.
Chappers is the guy that inspired me to play guitar. Well, Mustaine helped a little too.

You don't need to buy Mesa branded tubes. You can buy any tubes that are properly spec'd. Most tube sellers will have these.
(at the risk of being insensitive) can we just have a moment to be entertained by TH-cam introducing captions for a tone demo?

Hi Rob! Thanks for the great videos! I´m looking for a new mini head amp, and have been considering this TA-30 until I checked the Line 6 DT-25. I´ve been very skeptical to modelling until now, but that one sounds real, man! I did only test it for like 5-10 minutes.
I know you have thoroughly tested both amps, and I guess you would say that both amps are great, but is the TA-30 so much better than the DT-25 as the price implies?

Any chance you could demo the Express Series? There's not really any on the net that compare the stuff that you do!
I'm simply saying you don't have to use Mesa brand tubes, you can use JJ or Electro Harmonix, possibly others if you look around. They make tubes 'specd' for Mesa amps. I thinking if your the kinda guy that's into Telefunken tubes, you should be playing a Matchless, or 65 amp, or Dumble or Dr Z or hand wired ptp Marshall plexi, or some boutique amp the has no Printed circuit boards, why are you even playing a Mesa? I love Mesa's but they are not for the tone purist that uses telefunken tubes.

What are you talking about, I see JJ/Tesla and Electro-Harmonix tubes speced for Mesa Boogies bias all the time, you don't have to use Mesa brand tubes.

I never seem to dislike el84 amps...
next time you're playing an amp sim, put a high pass EQ at 60hz and a low pass EQ at 11khz, after the cab sim. that's what EL84s do. 'focus' is the less bass, it emphasizes the midrange, and 'smoothness' is the lack of high end. tone wizardry! dynawatt 20/20, makes EVERYTHING sound good. a PODxt through it is guaranteed giggles for hours.

You should watch this video with the close-captions on; the automatic transcriber comes up with some amazing nonsense sentences ("You never need to re-bias your amplifier," becomes "You never need to reply shrapnel butler,")
but also, somehow, interprets some of the guitar riffs as words. Give it a go!

@salisburysimon No offence man, but this is in a different league to the HT series. This is more comparable to the Artisan series, but even then, it has more features. I think both are amazing amps in their own right, but different classes and price points!

but how loud is it
I've used one with single 12 in a 7 piece band. It was an outside gig and wasn't in the PA, yet it was clear in the mix. I've got 3 of them now.
