    Great design. Funny to see a Mesa without an effects loop.

    I have to ask why this thing was discontinued so quick. My guitar teacher has one and it sounds amazing.

    Great amp. Have this with a Marshall 2x12 Celestion Heritage cab and there is an amazing range of tones you can create. Great sensitivity to string attack and the most versatile tube amp (IMO) out there bar none.

    @MyLifeChanger Well, anytime you get to add more power to an amp the tone is going to change slightly with the dynamics with the improved headroom, plus the effects loops. It's not an altogether different amp, but just an improved version.

    Great tone, but awesome playing. Nice job....

    @MyLifeChanger It was loud enough for me to have to placate a drummer I jammed with by switching it to the 15W setting. Definitely give it a go, but if you think you'll need more cut, and more clean headroom then the TA-30 is likely to be the one for you. Also comes with Reverb and an FX Loop too....

    I own one of those. I love that thing... But there is a problem... I just cant use the drive Channel and put a delay or verb on it... Any sugestions? Thanks

      Himanu gomes - Yeah - the higher the Gain settings (without an FX Loop between preamp and power), the more you'll have the disparity between the initial attack and the delayed signals. One possible solution is to run a gain pedal before your delay and reverbs and use that as your primary gain OR use it in addition to (lower) gain settings on Ch. 2 of your TA-15. It's a workaround but something that will get you largely there, especially if you have a gain/drive pedal you already use/like. Hope this helps and thanks for the great question!

      MESA/Boogie Thanks. Yeah, i use ocd and a plextortion. But i prefer by far the ta 15 drive channel. But i ll live with. That. An upgrade to the ta 30 seems to be an option... Lool thanks again for the support.

    How well does it take effects? Im interested sense it doesnt have a effects loop, does it hurt the tone with time based effects at all? TA-30 Might be a better option but I really like the 5 and 15 watt option for smaller gigs.

    I tried one yesterday. Really nice. It will compliment my 5-50 express+.Easy to take to practices. Why is Mesa not making them anymore?

      Hi +John McCart - The TransAtlantic series was a great product for many years but sales fell below a point where it made sense to continue to offer them so they we're discontinued to make room for new products in our line. Thanks for your interest and for the kind words! :D

      2 years late, but even after you discontinued it, I found and tried one yesterday. It's a complete BEAST. I love my Recto-Verb and my Express 5:25 plus, but this is just so dang spiffy.

    I'm thinking about getting a used one. How reliable are these things as I read they are PCB. Will Mesa/Boogie still service it for the next decades?

    • @mesaboogie
      @mesaboogie  8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Hi +shingomyelin - Thanks for your interest! ALL Mesa amplifiers have always been built using Printed Circuit Boards - from the beginning in 1971. We would humbly suggest that not all amps built with PCB are unreliable, but especially Mesa's, as it's the quality of the PCB and the design which sets our amps and our reliability apart from many other manufacturers. As for service, Mesa continues to service EVERY amp we've ever made since 1971 and beyond. Based on our great reputation for reliability and longevity for ALL our amps, it is unlikely that you'll need service other than routine tube maintenance, but should you, we absolutely service every amp we've ever made and will continue to do so. Good luck in your search! :)
