Top drawer presentation gentlemen thank you from Gary, full time judo coach age 64 with the health and energy of a 25 year old on beef, eggs and butter. One thing you possibly could have mentioned was lack of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness or DOMS. So not only better performance but more available training time through reduced inflammation.
The biggest problem for us carnivores is what they are currently doing to animal vaccines. The coming MRNA vaccinations for livestock and poultry is going to be major issue going forward for us to remain healthy . I know what I’m talking about here and adequately qualified to do so to say the least. Be careful my friends , know your local livestock farmers and know what they’ve been fed and inoculated against.

This is one of the best condensed, practical, and illuminating discussions on why we eat this way and how the "plate" is so incredibly counterintuitive to health and performance! Thank you, Mr. Smith! I got teary-eyed towards the end when you talk about the kids, Dr. Chaffee. I have a 3 year old and it's quite difficult sometimes to raise a little one in a world where sugar dominates and everywhere we go, people want to give her candy and sweets. I want her to be able to reach her potential, and like you said: be well, and able to just focus on her goals and dreams!! Thanks for a fantastic discussion guys, I'll be sharing this one for sure!
@vanillaghetto Yes and no. Ultimately yes, I decide what my kid eats at this point in time. But someday, she'll be grown and making her own decisions, so i think it's wise to consider how to teach nutrition in a way that encourages critical thinking vs dogma. I also think there's a good argument for a sort of 'cultural' exception at times. Dr. Schindler (who was also interviewed on this channel) talks in his book "Eat Like a Human" about orthorexia and how having an extremely strict list of "good" and "bad" foods (while objectively correct) was harming his family mentally, including 3 young kids. Most of us were probably taught (or shown by behavior) that all fats were "bad" as kids, and now have to unlearn that to form better habits. That's not an argument to justify including unhealthy foods, it's just pointing out that that kind of black and white mindset around food can lead to problems later (personal experience). If I ultimately want my kid to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle when she's out on her own, I need to make nutrition education my focus, and also lead by example. Telling her she can never have a cupcake at a birthday party or a cookie at Grandma's house on Christmas is not the way to teach a healthy relationship with food IMO. But educating her about what those foods are (from both an objective/nutrition standpoint and a cultural one) will allow her to develop her ability to make smart choices as she grows up. Not out of "fear of bad foods" but out of knowledge of the risks and benefits.

Started on a saturday and was a bit flat mon, tue but now my energy is through the roof and my lifts are getting better. Looking forward to the coming weeks to see how much fat I lose and how much muscle I can pack on. Thank you Anthony for all your great knowledge.

Excellent podcast gents! To elaborate further on the performance side, this is strictly anecdotal but i thought i should share it anyway, cause this is the only issue i experinced so far with carnivore. I was up until last spring performing powerlifting at a semi-pro level until i injured my back. My best lifts up until that point were (kg) 237,5 squat, 147,5 bench and 265 deadlift at 79kg bw 180cm height. My nutrition strategy was 1g~ protein per lb bodyweight, 0,5-1g fat per kg bodyweight and fill up the rest with carbs. A typical macro split would be 160-220g protein, 40-80g fat and 350-500g carbs, depending on my activity level on said day. When i injured my back, i went straight to carnivore. And the only thing that i can complain about is severly decreased performance in primarly bench and squat, deadlift's aswell but not as severely. I have my theories as why this would be the case and why it would effect powerlfiting capabilites negatively (leverages of decreased water retention). But the positives effects is worth sacrificing powerlifting for if i won't ever make it back. I've read similiar experncies from other powerlifters going carnivore over on reddit, question. Is there any practicing powerlifter who solely runs on meat that you guys can refer me to? Since it seems to be easier to put on muscle on carnivore, it should overtime compensate for the lack of stability/leverage decrease. But i haven't got that far yet.
Well I'm a recreational general strength training guy myself and my lifts dropped off considerably until about 3 months into the diet change. My recovery has improved as well. I train heavy compounds full body 3 days per week. I noticed I no longer get fatigued during my workout and I am slowly adding strength each session with reps or weight. I used to only be able to recover from 2 full body sessions a week and now it's easy to handle 3. I don't take deloads and continue to lift heavy top sets of 3-5 reps per exercise along with 2 lighter pump sets for assistance lifts like low back, rear delts, biceps and triceps, neck and abs. Three 2 hour workouts at 44 yrs old with no more back or shoulder pain. It gets better as the inflammation leaves and the steak increases repair to muscle tissue without having to fix other shit first. I'm no competitor but I'm growing bigger and stronger week by week pain free. All while remaining at the same bodyweight of 200 lbs. I eat 4000kcal per day and cannot gain weight. I am leaning out and obviously getting gains though. I'm almost a size 32 waist now. Nuts. I'm only 5 months into this lifestyle but I do have vodka seltzer every week. Doesn't cause joint pains like beer does haaa! Good luck. Mark Bell would be a decent resource but he started eating fruit again and rice. Booo!
Consider this: in the northern Finland, berries ripen late summer / early fall just in time before the extremely harsh winter. Bears load up (and humans, too) heavy and then survive through the winter like this.
Leg cramps is almost certainly electrolyte depletion; replace the sodium, magnesium, and potassium with an electrolyte replacement drink. Consuming carbs to prevent leg cramps is NOT the correct / optimum solution. Hydrate with electrolytes as you perform / compete and prevent the occurrence of cramps. As I understand it; that is what I practice and I don't get leg cramps or consume carbohydrates.
Regarding muscle cramps, simply taking 1 cap of magnesium glycinate 500 mg works for me. However I am curious to know why my sodium, chloride and potassium are low. My doctor only mentioned possible ADH - I have hzad hydrocephalus and have a brain shunt (ventriculoperitoneal) . Could my ICP be elevated perhaps blocking some drainage?
All of these are true... especially the cellular respiration as I had doubts before but understanding the process on how our body treats the consumption of ketones makes sense... I have workout videos proof that these are phenomenal... I also experienced asking me my diet and lifestyle and they were doubting it... Reality is so sad
Did I hear Mr. Smith mention that he works with clients with PKD? If that is that case I would love if you did an episode about it. My ex-husband and two of my sons have PKD.
Left a message before. Lost 136lb at 56yo. Still 55lb to lose. Been strict carnivore since Dec 1st 2022. But struggling to lose more now. Listening for tips. Q: any specific things I can do? I am 95% beef. OMAD. I exercise most days.
Are you resistance training rather than cardio? If not, this would be my first change. If you are resistance training and strict carnivore, your body composition will be changing as will bone density. Don't focus on weight.
@ Richard -What about track athletes for example 400m, 800m -mile athletes? We know about this way of eating for marathons and triathlons etc but what about those shorter high intensity events. Can you honestly be as competitive as the carb loaded athletes out there ? If so ,how and what would you suggest I do to optimise my Keto lifestyle to be competitive at these events? I’d so appreciate any input.
Can you please do a video on gut health with carnivore diet or lead me to one if already done. I might be able to explain the never-ending push for fiber. Many will say there is fiber that comes from only certain plants that feed the good bacteria in your gut and my understanding with Carnivore is that you don't need to do that. I'm not opposed to fermented foods or dairy if you can tolerate it but I don't do any fiber and rare occasion on the fermented food like kerfir but my gut health without fiber has been great!
You definitely don't need, or want, fiber on a carnivore diet. You get perfect gut bacteria on carnivore, and you get short chain fatty acids to feed your gut lining from being in ketosis. Watch my video called Fiber, Constipation, and Diet as well as my video on autoimmune diseases and both of my interviews with my friend Dr Pran Yoganathan, who is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist.

Just started the carnivore diet day 11 at 50 years old, I do weighs twice a day and I'm down 6kg already and I wasn't that fat. Started on a saturday and was a bit flat mon, tue but now my energy is through the roof and my lifts are getting better. Looking forward to the coming weeks to see how much fat I lose and how much muscle I can pack on. Thank you Anthony for all your great knowledge.
One of the best, most informative videos I have ever watched. Thank you so much for creating this both of you!
Good guest
Just a big thank you, appreciate the information!

@@Richard-Smith-Nutrition always. I kind of wish we could have access to that awesome presentation, perhaps ppt file, but I am fully satisfied with you going over it so well in this interview
Great show
Fantastic Presentation !!
Booo!
@@nickvillalobos8249 Sounds like i should give it some more time then, thanks a bunch for your detailed answer.
Doctor Chaffee you are a big surprise!! I didn’t think that you knew so much about Ronnie!! You are the man Chaffee 🥩🥩🥩🥩
Terrific presentation, so passionately presented
Thank you Shelley. Rich
Can you do a podcast on heart CAC score! I am sure a carnivore way of eating would help
Incredible presentation
Thanks Doctor Chaffee - good info
Excellent presentation. Thank you both.
Thank you for listening, glad you enjoyed! Rich
Excellent 👌
All of these are true... especially the cellular respiration as I had doubts before but understanding the process on how our body treats the consumption of ketones makes sense... I have workout videos proof that these are phenomenal... I also experienced asking me my diet and lifestyle and they were doubting it... Reality is so sad
Absolutely amazing podcast the knowledge is awesome. Thank you guys 😊
Incredible interview and content! Thank you greatly!
This 007's doppelganger seems like a cool and very positive guy! Thanks for the interview.

Great information, thanks for this invaluable information. Week 3 carnivore 😊
Keep us the awesome work! Rich
Did I hear Mr. Smith mention that he works with clients with PKD? If that is that case I would love if you did an episode about it. My ex-husband and two of my sons have PKD.
Thank you for sharing

Marvellous podcast ☝️💪👍so valuable
Tremendous discussion! Thanks for sharing.
Off to the gym now 🏋️♂️ 💪🏼
Left a message before. Lost 136lb at 56yo. Still 55lb to lose. Been strict carnivore since Dec 1st 2022. But struggling to lose more now. Listening for tips.
Q: any specific things I can do? I am 95% beef. OMAD. I exercise most days.
What’s your bf% if you don’t mind me asking ?
Are you resistance training rather than cardio? If not, this would be my first change.
If you are resistance training and strict carnivore, your body composition will be changing as will bone density. Don't focus on weight.
Fast
Everyone swears by walking to lose weight and preserve muscle. Maybe work that in?
Really good got a lot out of this one
Thank you for sharing 🙏
Glad you enjoyed. :-)
Awesome discussion, thank you!
I loved this presentation 👊🏼
thank you very much!
Amazing to not have to take in any fuel other than electrolytes during a Tri!
Compelling presentation
Excelent, thank you 🙂
Awesome interview!!
Thank you for the info you are getting out
Glad you enjoyed. :-)
Get some subtitles up for this Welsh maniac 😂 kidding. Love from your Celtic brother 🏴🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩
I am so sorry, I do tend to get carried away! Haha
Great podcast 👏
Amazing presentation, learned so much. Thank you both. Sub'd.
Great interview and info!
Consuming carbs can be compared to throwing straw onto the fire; keto or (preferably) carnivore can be compared to throwing a log on the fire.
I learned a new medical term: Torrential diahorrea.
Richard Smith. Please share your training protocol 🙏💪👍
Great content!
Steaks > Cakes
Awesome info
@@anthonychaffeemd Totally agree!
Smart guy for sure... another reason for me to stay focused on my lifestyle Meat Eater 🍖
