    A lot simpler than a truckers knot.

      I do love the truckers hitch.. however you cannot just adjust that knot.. you have to redo the whole damn thing.

    I can tie plenty enough knots to make a ridgeline and pruskiks and hang my hammock and tarp etc but I just love hardware. I like DMM climbing biners, but I've only just discovered smaller biners like these from nite ize. Thankyou for the inspiration.

    The great part of a bowline knot is it will never come undone the more you pull it the tighter it gets!!!

      Get the XL's - the other ones are kinda only good for working guy lines to stakes.

      Agree! I actually had and used a phone case from them for a while. Their variety of products always surprises me. I've been shopping for some pretty specific tools or accessories, and...look at that... another Niteize product... 😂

    Let's be honest you can make a perfectly good ridgeline in this case with a bowline and a trackers hitch. The Cams are most useful for securing loads in a box.

    On the bowline end just put a bite in the loop and use a toggle wont have run the line thru that way much quicker.......

  • @spincitynyc809
    @spincitynyc809 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I normally see people putting the line around the second tree from the left side. It's supposed to make feeding the cam jam easier from the natural side.

    Why use knots? I put it through the hole, simple double square knot then burn the end with a lighter and it doesn’t go anywhere. Then I tie the other end to a utility connector loop and it works perfectly. I can set up a tarp shelter in any situation in minutes with these pre-made cam jam rigs I put together.

    • @YankeeTankerOutdoors
      @YankeeTankerOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You def can do that. I just like having the loop on the end. But great point.

    This, or their Figure 9 tightener? This seems more "labour intensive" with a better (worse) failure point.

  • @nrnrnrify

    Its not how to tighten ridgeline with CamJam... You should make a little loop/eye on main part of the line and then attach CamJam to this loop/eye. This way lines are more parallel (and this tool is strongest to stretching) and will not slip.
