All those games I legally purchased with safedisc drm are unplayable now, unless I build a winxp system or turn to pirates and crackers for fixes. Which of those 2 options is more viable...

A lot of reviews on Aliexpress says there is a new version of Smart Pro that comes with fixed trigger button - suppose to come with the new 3 strip box you have. Do you notice any improvement HW wise?

I've seen a couple of your videos by now and all were enjoyable/informative (and usually pretty funny). Subscribed 👍 EDIT: CrossMix has made the TrimUI Smart Pro a lot better than it already was imho. Only issue I have with it (and even the stock firmware) is that it sometimes freezes up when it wakes from the sleep function.

You know I think pico8 games are actually free to use, distribute and emulate by licence... They sell the native software (the virtual console) and the splore system for browsing and whatnot but the games are distributes as free to use. Am I wrong ?
@@frankysour No, you're right. The games are free, it's the official "emulator"/SDK that costs money. There's absolutely no issue, moral or legal, with playing them on a third party interpreter.

You missed something. Surwish didn't get permission from the programmer in of Crossmix to rename and sell his work. It is given away as open source.... But to install, not to rename and sell!
Hey Vlad sir, I've got an actual question. I use the trimui button and the custom menu with 10 slots to save games (instead of RA shortcuts). Is there any way to delete savegames in these slots inside this menu?
My only wish is being able to set up a wallpaper that persist regardless of the menu you're navigating that's separate from the theme. It can be a bit annoying seeing the wallpaper just keep changing as you navigate the menus.
That's why I use that grey Crossmix theme. It keeps a nice, black backround in all UI section. Also, I totally resonate with your comment. It annoyed me as well. :)
Is buying games in a bundled card from a re-seller any different than buying them individually from a dude on ebay who is selling the one's he bought from Best Buy? We must sail to Tortuga and consult Captain Morgan.
You're absolutely right about the legality of emulators, but let's not pretend including ROMs is any more legal than including modern games, regardless of the moral difference.
Mine came with a Lexar SD card which is fine - but it also went corrupt after a few days of play, I think it's an issue with the Image they flash onto the card and not the card itself - I re-made the SD card with CrossMix from Github and put my media on there from the backup I made before it corrupted - and it's been rock solid stable since 👍

@@VladNerdThe new version of muOS has bugs when assigning cores to systems or folders. Maybe you can look into it when making the next video. I actually dumped Banana because of this bug. Using Knulli instead, it's waaay less complex.
I'm in the same boat as you. I excitedly installed MuOS on a spare SD card hoping it would be the OS for me... but the HDMI resolution issue means I won't be switching any time soon. p.s. There is a cardinal snapping fix for Knulli, there's a reddit post with instructions.

Maybe it's better to wait further versions/fixes for the rg40xxh if there's bugs then. My main grip was the lack of scraping directly on the device, was pretty happy regarding game performance otherwise.

In terms of HDMI, Knulli outputs 720p but also changes the framebuffer to match, so you get to make full use of the wider screen on wide systems while having the correct aspect ratio on all systems. MuOS disappointingly behaves like stock, so it keeps the framebuffer at 640x480 and just stretches it out to full screen on your TV, no matter what resolution you pick.
Ah, I got a new card with crossmix build on it. But when I inserted into the trimui smart pro it identified that firmware wasn't compatible. So, I think I need to upgrade firmware first, then use that card.
I love the value and the screen on TSP but the buttons on the RG40xxH are just a better size but not analog...the TSP dpad + buttons are small with awful R2 and L2...so mostly im going to play everything on the rg40xxh except for PSP then Ill break out the TSP. I wont buy any pow kiddys because none of them seem to have a proper sleep mode then no one talks about in reviews.
Anbernic needs to up the quality of their Batteries. They all drain way too fast. My G Cloud lasts 10 hours+ and drains 3% within 3 months. Anbernics drain 50-80% within one month being completly OFF.

X55 from powkiddy is a touch smidge more powerful the same orientation annnnd a massive screen! and also dirt cheap like the trim pro! but im guessing here that the trim might feel more solid or better, though i think theyre both similar.... trim has flashy lights tho lol... the x55 has been on my radar i just havent pulled the trigger, and they might have a more upgraded version im anticipating otherwise if these devices fall in price then its all good
The Trimui Smart Pro is a GREAT handheld but it's definitely not a Handheld that fills every Retro Gaming Niche. It doesn't enhance Gameboy, GBC, Game Gear, nor Neo Geo Pocket emulation or make 4:3 games look good on the screen. It's true that Anbernic can work on their base software. However the Community Opinions are pretty good. I like having a Mainline Linux Build on my RGB10 Max 3 and RG-ARC. The Trimui Smart doesn't have a Chipset that supports Mainline Linux. Lastly both Anbernic and Powkiddy are the ONLY companies successfully recreating Retro Gaming experiences we've had as kids. Retroid, AYN, and unfortunately Trimui don't have this achievement under their belts. Edit: Also yes, Crossmix is custom firmware. It's Open-Source Community based Software.

Trim i havent heard of much but i know Russ likes his credit card sized trim..... the only one that sticks out to me is AYN which to me are like AYA and a few of the other highend PC handheld monsters! hang about have i seen your name in retro handhelds and stubbs channel!? Yes! That's right and the battery is now stable with the case and not shaking. Russ from RGC checked this too.

My RG40… something lasts a few hours in sleep and a few days when off. The batteries are terrible and why I’m looking at other brands.
