I bought this monitor from ebay Acer store at $172 for my PS5. Playing COD Vanguard, Cold War and Warzone at 1440p 120hz is awesome! I tried God of War and it looks great. I'm a little confused...why is the M27Q a better alternative but on the RTINGS website the XV272U KV has better ratings for all departments except "Media Consumption" (7.6 vs 7.5)?
The XVX272U mainly scores better overall because of its improved ergonomics and slightly better text clarity, but the M27Q still gets brighter and it has extra features including a USB-C port and KVM switch. Also, you can find the M27Q for less. Hope this helps!
Lower bandwidth on HDMI 2. Although I probably wouldn't use that given its only 350-400 nits so no really useful for HDR. Rather use SDR with sRGB as it has really good color depth and gamut.
Any monitor we’ve bought and tested you can compare using our comparison tool. If we haven’t bought and tested it though, we simply can’t say how they compare since we dont have our own data. Sorry about that!
If I opt 32-inch 1440p model (MSI or other), do I need to use scaling or native 100 percent scaling is enough for good clear text? I am only worried about this scaling thing (because almost every monitor with high refresh rate has same specs except DP 1.2/1.4, HDR, USB ports) and confused between 27-inch 1440p and 32-inch 1440p. If I scale 27 inches 1440p around 125 or 150, does it mean 32 inches will be a good choice (it looks somewhat scaled version of 27 inches 1440p on 100 percent)?
Generally finding the right size and resolution comes down to personal preference so you would have to scale the text to your liking. That being said, a 1440p, 32-inch monitor has larger text than a 27-inch, 1440p monitor, so while it may not be exactly like a 27-inch monitor with 125% scaling, it could be similar, but we don't know for sure since we haven't tried scaling a 32-inch monitor like that.
I tried two m27qs before buying this monitor. They are complete trash, the worst panel uniformity iv ever seen. There are some insane IPS glow/bleed issues. No doubt it is the bottom of the panel run used on the m27q. You get what you pay for on these panels.

If you look at the 'Color Space' setting and it's set to 'General' then it will use the native color space of your source (like DCI-P3). If you want to clamp the color space to the sRGB color space you need to set it to 'sRGB'. I hope this helps!

One should not pay a full above average price for only sRGB ever, or only once and then buy something better the next time... The age-old mystification of colour spaces in the industry-close reviewing sphere is utterly bonkers. SRGB is more like a minimum spec, it has nothing at all to do with what one can perceive or is most satisfying or "correct" (some part will always look the same anyway). Just something I like to reiterate here or there.
I just noticed you gave this monitor a higher rating last year. 8.3 for "mixed use", 8.7 for "gaming", etc. How come? Sorry but I find this very unprofessional unfortunately
Hey Trappey, no need to apologize, we appreciate the feedback. On our end, we're always looking for ways to improve our testing/reviews and that includes updating our scoring/methodology. In this case, the scores changed slightly due to changes in our methodology, but they should still be representative of the same thing. So, for instance, if it scored an 8.3 before and an 8.7 now, it should still paint the same picture (as other monitors tested with our newest methodology would have also been subjected to some slight changes in the scores). Feel free to follow up if you have any other questions or concerns though. And once again, thanks for the feedback!

Nope, they still look great. You're not gonna notice much visual change if you're running 60FPS on a >60Hz display. But you may notice some slightly more responsive controls in things like games.
You get some judder if the frame rate playing doesn't divide by the refresh rate cleanly, but people have been doing 24p on 60hz monitors and TVs for years. Long story short, it might not be as clean, but it's not terrible and you get used to it.
Could you technically set the refresh rate to (for example) 120Hz and not have any issues. I think my GPU cant handle the 170Hz and I would be fine with 120Hz so the GPU doesnt cook 😁
Yup, just set it in the windows or Nvidia settings. You also could leave it at 170 and play with freesync, so it doesnt matter what your gpu can handle. I for myself like to set the monitor to 120hz since its the sweetspot for most games my 3070ti can handle at high/ultra settings.

Thanks my man.

Using for ps5. How do I set the monitor to use the 0.5 ms?
Does higher refresh rate monitor makes difference in day to day use or it is only for gamers ?
Depends how sensitive you are to these things, but it could still have an impact in the day to day use!

How to set this monitor's refresh rate to 170hz?
You shouldn't have to do anything special since that's the native refresh rate of this panel. However, depending on your setup, you may be limited.
For instance:
Native Refresh Rate
170 Hz
Max Refresh Rate
170 Hz
Max Refresh Rate Over DP
170 Hz
Max Refresh Rate Over HDMI
144 Hz
Max Refresh Rate Over DP @ 10-bit
120 Hz

60 Hz
So, if you're using 1- bit or HDMI, you won't be able to get 170hz/

It depends on what you'll be using it for. So, feel free to offer any additional information about your setup/intended usage! :)
Wait! It's 144 hz not 170!??
This monitor has a 170hz refresh rate, is there a specific reason you think it's 144hz?

No 4k 144hz 2.1 hdmi yet?
So, doesn’t every 60fps TH-cam video just look awful if the refresh rate isn’t 60, 120, 180, etc?
