Well dev kits cant connect to Xbox Live. They dont update via online but through remote recovery or recovery discs, neither of which are available to the public. Finally the Beta/Prototypes cannot update at all. Also this particular XeDK has had its ethernet port disabled.
Yes they can get RROD, however out of the 7 dev kits I have I have never had one get an RROD error on any of them. If you think about it, it makes sense to build the dev kits better since they're leased to dev teams whereas the normal consumer will have money invested in games, controllers and accessories who will feel compelled to buy a replacement console when theirs go to hell. It makes good business to make retail models somewhat temporary or disposable.

Sometimes they use higher quality components during prototyping, and when going into massproduction they'll try to cut down production cost by a lot. I dont fully remember anymore, but the RROD was usually caused because of heat and the bad solder they used for the gpu and cpu (?). So that may be what happened.

No, it like all XDK run devkit signed code. These kits are prototypes so all they'll run is known as xex1 files. Modern xdk along with jtag and rgh run plus retails run xex2 files signed either retail or devkit respectively.
research, docs, MS emplyees, developers of the early days and some people just reverseengineer whatever they can get their hands on. XboxSurgeon might have his own answer but if you ask arround and google alott, you can get a pretty picture :D
Zach Smith Jaspers can have it too. General failure has no limitations. Now for the thermal paste/thin board stuff that often is plainly called RROD, that doesn't happen to Jaspers. But Error 0102 can happen to everything below a Jasper on its own accord. Jaspers can show this error if the console has been tampered with though. Nothing in the world of Microsoft is fool proof.

Ok so anyways my xdk is legit just a lower dash because I don't know how to make a recoverie I have one that is one of the 12xxxx dashs could u tell me how to update it I'll show you any proof you need for me to proove its a legit xdk and I really could use your help please bro and don't hate on my vid cuz it's a legit dev
i better learn how to bypass white listing debug this xedk and find out the unbrick command to learn the true secret of the consle and export all its files to see whats in the board or flash memery

2. It will fail to connect at all due to PartnerNet Whitelisting

I hope you know that the Blade dashboard never had avatars. Avatars didn't come in until 2007 when the NXE dash came out.
