  • The SECOND of the two new Triumph Rocket 3 's that I rode, and WOW. Triumph, what the heck are you doing?? This big is a MONSTER. 2500 cc's of pepper. 165hp. Insane. And it doesn't look that bad either! The R model opts for more of the RACING presents, SPORT suspension, no windscreen, and awesome exhaust note. Really impressed with this bike, for what it is!!
    Let me know your thoughts if you have slung a leg with the new R3 R from triumph. It sure is a Rocket! One of my top bikes I have ever demo'd!!

    The radiators on that bike are bigger than the ones in my house.

    I test rode the old Rocket lll Roadster around 14 years ago. I couldn't believe how light it was taking it off the side stand. Low centre of gravity which locks the bike the the road when you're moving. Heavy on petrol. The new model would be even more manageable as it's a lot lighter.The main reason it handles is the low centre of gravity. I wouldn't want to try and pick it up.

    You aught to ride a Rocket with the speed shifter, pegging the throttle on the Rocket and running through the gears without lifting up on the throttle is indescribable fun.. I am an old man and I have ridden my Rocket GT over 1000 miles in one day with very little discomfort. But to heck with the little postage stamp windshields. If you ride long distances in my opinion you need a proper sized windshield, I have a Madstad on mine and recommend it. And I dont doubt that I have more miles on my Rocket (GT or R) than anyone else around (no commuting miles either).

    Mines red I wouldn't want it all black. Blacks nice but I like shiny bolts ,pipes it's fun to polish

    Hey Pete… I met you at the rally and rode this bike after you did and it’s an absolute animal! I love it so much but it makes no sense at all to own which kinda makes me want it more….I’d love to go ride sometime next summer ( I’m a Mainah too)

    Pfffft, it has WAY more low end torque than any vtwin you have ridden.

    The only competitors to this bike would be a Yamaha V Max and a Ducati Diavel V4.

      Nowhere near as good as the Rocket.

    I had this and the Ducati XDiavel.. just for info the Ducati was faster, and handled better. Ok it didn’t have the torque, but put them side by side and the Ducati would win

      I have run my gt against my buddy on his Diavel. In a strait drag it seemed to be whoever got on it the best, in twisties especially going uphill the Rocket takes over.

    • @markettradinggenius
      @markettradinggenius 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree, I've beat the shit out of 100% of ALL R3's(I have many friends who have triumph rocket 3GT/R3) going uphill and all up and down twisties. Even with all that torque, the rocket still has to catch up to my ducati diavel V4(2023 model) in order to beat me going up hills; in which case it never does...lol..lol... Even at a standstill, I still opened up a can of 'whoopass' on my buddies; even the most experienced ones !! There's NO contest. The ducati diavel v4 wins without argument or hesitation; without NO modifications !!

      @@markettradinggenius Wow, when you put it in all caps like that it must be true, lololol. My experience is as I stated. Uphill twisties the Rocket takes over. But even if what you say is true I would still take the Rocket any day. You have to be in the high rev range to get an power on the Diavel and I dont like to constantly keep the bike at high revs. Also I ride a lot and the Rocket is so much more comfortable. I have ridden my buddies Diavel and would not own one even if the Rocket didnt exist. Thats not really true, if someone gave me a Diavel I would certainly take it but I would never pay for one. Oh and I doubt if you have many friends who own a Rocket, I have ridden with thousands of other riders and have seen, not known, but just seen two others. But keep up the play acting.

      @@markettradinggenius yes, of course the diavel is better on many points than the rocket 3, but we mustn't forget that the rocket is limited to 68% at wide-open throttle and that if we put in a new mapping system that removes these restrictions on the secondary butterfly it might be different ! 🙂

      @@inspecteurderrick2310 yeah probably, and those pegs would somehow have to be moved up higher, vertically, by 2 inches or so to keep from scraping the ground when in the twisties...

    It is cool. But theres nothing race about it. Terrible HP/weight ratio, shaft driven and it has plenty of rivals in 2024. Im 42 and its old man to me. Just imo
