I know you're mainly an SMT channel, but the Paimon section actually got me thinking. Would you be interested in making a video about games depicting/referencing demons of Ars Goetia? Genshin Impact, for instance, goes way beyond Paimon alone. Each elemental god, called archon in the game, carries a "civil" name most people use when addressing them, but also a true name, each of which is an Ars Goetia demon. So far, we have Decarabia, Barbatos, Morax, Bael, Buer, and Focalors. I wknder if that would intrigue you enough to run the risk of getting attwntion from the, sadly, volatile Genshin community.
It would be interesting to interpret Evangelion from a Gnostic perspective, no one has done that before, everyone analyzes it from philosophy or Christianity, but I think it has much more similarities with Gnosticism...
That is not the case. No demon will ever appear in this world. That is because the Baal Shem Tov banished thwm all. Or, perhaps, they were never able to enter this world in the first place
@@rain6hell is a 4th dimension we as 3 dimensional beings csnt perceive it because we can only perceive in 2d. A demon or angel is 4th dimensional and see in all dimensions.
@mattfrith3882 who said a demon is 4th dimensional? They can't move through time as they please. They exist on a metaphysical plane and aren't affected by our dimensionality as much as we are. We know this because humans have seen angels and demons. But even if they were 4th dimensional, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to see them. We see the 3 dimensional in 2d, so why not 4d?
Paimon playing his own imperial march theme was the sickest demon description i've ever seen, he deserves to be a major Smt demon instead of a minor one.
I imagine it's like an entourage like he's a big celebrity, with crowds of spirits circling around to spectate who the poor sod Paimon's gonna blow into the next dimension for making a single mistake
I know covering all the demons from the Lesser Key Of Solomon would be a big undertaking, I think it would be really entertaining to hear you talk about them and give your own interpretations. I know others would probably love to hear them as well (^^)!
the Lesser Key of Solomon is split into several chapters with the first being dedicated to demon royalty. That chapter is called the Ars Goetia. Not the whole book.
I would love to hear more about the other demons of the Ars Goetia! I think my favorite would be Marchosias, the winged, snake-tailed wolf that spews fire and has ambitions to return to Heaven on day. You hear a lot about fallen angels that I think a demon seeking redemption sounds like an interesting concept that should be explored more.

Nice, I've been waiting for Goetia demons episode. Hope to see some lore about the new SMT V: Vengeance demons (Eisheth Zenunim, Agrat bat Mahlat and Naamah) in the future.
Decarabia has a special place in my heart. Back during my first run of Persona 4, I fused Decarabia in the Velvet Room to add to my collection, but he ended up becoming a permanent mascot. That's because it was at one of the days where Margaret would force a skill mutation, and he got Victory Cry, which fully heals the MC's HP and SP after AFTER. EVERY. SINGLE. FIGHT. Suffice to say the rest of my run became an absolute cakewalk, and for NG+, I had to ban him. But that experience stuck with me for over 15 years now. In that sense, Decarabia was inadvertently the greatest of the 72 demons of Goetia to me, and I've given him favourable treatment in every SMT game.
I think that Decarabia's knowledge of birds and gemstones is a reference to real life divination practices like ornitomancy and geomancy. On the topic of demons bestowing knowledge, I doubt their powers are as hyperbolic as the book says, they probably know a lot of stuff, to the point of looking omniscient to humans, but if they knew everything they wouldn't have suffered defeat by the heavenly forces. I also think that the angels mentioned in the book are fallen angels, just as Paimon was a dominion he has fallen powers and angels under his control.

This video makes me want to make a game about being a demon hunter who uses the demons of the Ars Goetia to hunt other demons, and the rules of summoning are portrayed so close to the actual rules of the book that you need to have a copy open at all times next to you in order to know what the hell is going on

There's another game called Shadow Hearts Covenant that also uses the Ars Goetia in a different way. The seals of the demons are used as equipables for characters to learn spells in battle, like espers in Final Fantasy VI. You collect more as you progress through the story as well as a key item called Solomon's Key. With it, you put the seals in their designated spot on a map that gives brief descriptions of the demons, and when you put a certain number of them in the correct spot, those seals unlock more powerful spells to use. Do them all, and you get to fight Solomon himself for his ultimate seal to use. The game also gives more attention to Asteroth, Asmodeus, and Amon in the story. The first two are summoned by the game's antagonists, and the protag can turn into Amon because he has the power to transform into multiple demons. I hope you make another video with these 3 demons since they hold a very special place in my heart because of Shadow Hearts.

Great video! This is the cornerstone of all demonology. Good to see it covered, and you gave appropriate warning. I think you'll revisit this topic a few times going forward. How has no one mentioned 'Hereditary'? Paimon plays a major role in the story of that movie. It's creepy as heck and totally worth a watch. I don't need all those things you mentioned to summon demons. I just got an app on my phone today with instructions to use it during the eclipse tomorrow, so I think it will be okay. It also plays Takami Asano music, so that's probably a good sign. If an actual apocalypse is what's required to get Devil Survivor 3, it's probably worth it.

Keep it up more stories education. 👍🙏🏻🧡
Is this for real, or are you joking?!
@@masterseal0418 No, Hereditary is a really good movie. You should definitely see it.
