    You are right. That is one gorgeous truck! I was all set to buy one when I bought my Defender, but I wanted the orange/white version and they were out of stock everywhere. I was told they expected them to become available again this month, so, we'll see. Watched this video some time back, but if what I was told was accurate, hopefully I'll be buying a Blazer before too much longer, so wanted to refresh my memory is childlike anticipation. Must admit, that the black is actually prettier, but there's just something about the orange/white that grabbed me when I first saw it. Probably some latent memory from my youth... I used to be a bit anti Traxxas as I viewed them as too pricey. But, I must say, after owning one for a while, I feel that you do get what you pay for. Same with their accessories... Pricey, but well thought out, very well integrated, and well executed. Guess now I might be considered somewhat of a Traxxas fanboy. Haha.

      The orange and white one is pretty classic! If it had been blue and white I would have been sold. I have really liked this so far, just stay away from Injora black brass!!! Lesson learned.

      @@bcochener Yep, as a kid of the 70's, this model appeals to me a lot. I was 15, and just received my license when the '79 Blazer came out, although, that body style had been out a while by then. So, I guess you could say I grew up with these things in real life, so have a soft spot for them now. I really like the Defender, but it just doesn't have the emotional connection for me as the Blazer. Wrong side of the Atlantic, I guess...
      I saw your issues with the Injora brass. I used Injora brass portal covers on my Defender and had no major issues. I did have one tight bearing pocket. Probably would have been able to tap the bearing in, but was concerned about removing it later, so a light sanding got it into spec easily enough. But, then again, I had seen the black versions could be issues, so went with plain brass instead. In fact, if may have been your video that steered me away from the black. I've used quite a few Injora products, from links, to wheels, to brass, and have been quite pleased with it all, and the value per dollar has been very good for me. I suspect that they just didn't allow for the extra few mils of the coating in their machining operations. But, at the price point I suppose a lesser degree of QC is somewhat to be expected, so, Caveat Emptor...

    Nice work I have the same Truck and I’m definitely interested in how all the brass is actually helping with the stability? The truck looks great 👍🏽

    • @bcochener
      @bcochener  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really helps in general for all crawlers. Not too much mind you (depends on how top heavy your body is), but I usually put some brass at the 4 corners, with a bit more at the front for bias.

      No, I had the truck sitting in the box a while getting parts together. I am doing an interior next. Not sure about the lift for this, my tires are not giant, but I do have some body rub though.

      I have been watching his progress as well though. It's hard to stand out with this truck since I like the body/paint the way it is. Maybe he will make his body wildly different?
