    Dude, this is so cool! Damn, I didn't even know that you can shoot footage that's truly movie-like on an M4!

      @@ВячеславРакитин-ю6ю thanks so much man. Yeah it's a powerful little camera. I since sold it, but I still have my S6 Zcam.

      @@ВячеславРакитин-ю6ю it's OK in static or near static shots, with movement it creates ghosting as it's taking Two framers and blending them, 24 times a second. I never used it. Camera has plenty of DR for me

    You definitely sold me the E2-M4 dude !
    I was scared it couldn't hold it in low light but with good conditions, IT'S MORE THAN ENOUGH

      Glad I could be part of your venture into Zcam man, you certainly won't be disappointed. Just give it light. Better to shoot high iso and bring exposure down in post, than try to stay low and suffer noise.

    No noise reduction? That is impressive. Any comparison to the GH5s? This was a great short.

      @@FosterMedia I use mainly gh5 and zcam, they are very different. Zcam blows the gh5 like Mercedes to Mazda

      Thanks so much man. It was all shot between 5000 and 8000iso, using Zlog2 in prores LT. 24fps and a 172.8 degree shutter, or 1/50. I can remember the lens, I think it was my old yashica 28mm 2.8

    Which LUT do you preview with or can I use the zebras with flat zlog and expose that way?

    • @FosterMedia
      @FosterMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually don't use a preview LUT. I have used log for some years now and im comfortable exposing it in its natural state. Yes, use zebras. I found the best for low light is to boost that iso right up to ETTR, then i use the Zcolour plugin to adjust exposure. It acts like raw.

    I have the same camera but I get the really bad banding with high noise. I know going into higher ISOs can make the noise more prominent, but is there any way to mitigate that banding noise? It looks really really bad in post and the quality of my stuff is suffering

    • @FosterMedia
      @FosterMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      By how much are you over exposing, are you shooting Zlog?

    • @BryceBladen
      @BryceBladen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FosterMedia I'm gonna be honest, I'm not sure. All I am doing is exposing to the right, or just below peak so highs are blown out. I attempted downloading the -3 exposure lut from Zcam to my camera, but because I use my phone, I don't think that works.

    • @BryceBladen
      @BryceBladen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @FosterMedia
      @FosterMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

       @LoneBolt ok, seems you're doing it right. Don't be afraid to whack that iso right up, what's important with the Zs is to exposure just under the clip, regardless of how high the iso is. so shoot with as max aperture as possible, say 2.8, then bring the iso up till you see clipping on the waveform, then bring it back down till the brightest highlight just falls below clipping. This video for example, i brought the exposure down by -8 in the Zcolour plugin. The noise from the Zcam is really quite nice, organic, due to the analog gain, as opposed to digital like most non-cine cameras. Dont worry about a bit of noise, but banding, yeah thats not good. if you wana show me an example you can find e on the Zcam Facebook page (Brad Foster) and we can discuss it farther , im here to help
