Tashkent to Bishkek (We found the worst toilet on Earth...) 🇺🇿🇰🇬

  • The journey from Tashkent to Bishkek via Osh is nearly a 1,000 miles (1,100kms) on mountain roads, using Marshrutkas, shared taxis and Soviet trains. We attempted this journey over two days and of course, managed to pick the two worst days in terms of weather. We hit the first snow of the season in the Ala-Too mountains of Kyrgyzstan. In other news, along the way, high up in the mountain passes we came across arguably the worst toilet on earth, certainly that we've seen! This was an incredibly long two days, but with Kazakhstan closed (the easier route) and flight prices through the move, it was our only option! Thank you for the incredible memories Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 but back to Bishkek we go! 🇰🇬

I am absolutely in love with the two of you. You are the best travelers and keep me laughing. The mountains are so beautiful. You never know what you will see or the people you will meet. It’s so very interesting. I remember the woman asking why you wee so much. Hysterical. The animals you encounter along the road awesome. You put your life in others peoples hands which is very scary. But so far you’ve survived. 😂❤️. I so enjoy your travels. Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us. You both are fantastic. ❤️❤️❤️Stay safe.

Playing Top Trumps with the Worst Toilet is always fun. Mine was at a remote pub in the north Yorkshire moors. The loo was a whitewashed wall about 30m from the back door of the pub. No lights but we were told go go on the other side. So we did. And when we were in full flow, a (rare) car arrived and there we were silhouetted against the wall. And 50 shades of yellow. I think you win though :)

in 2007 I had a whirlwind tour of quite a few countries in just a few weeks. Included were South Korea, Japan, Guam, Crete, Israel, Iceland, England, France, Germany, Alaska USA and a number of other states in USA. I found some of the common experiences quite fascinating, and even a little disturbing. Every location had street markets, in them were bright shiny things of little value, amazing food and food aromas, disgusting toilets and crazy people (really disconnected, schizophrenic types - while not dangerous though). I also discovered that every time I heard or experienced very loud people (especially kids) they turned out to be from USA. I decided to change my estimation of culture and national accomplishments for nations from: art, music, architecture to something more basic - toilet accommodations. Korea had the most diverse from really bad to really great. Japan ;had the best and of the western nations, France was the most disgusting. The middle east was..... different. Dont tout your great culture, show me your bathrooms and I will tell you where you sit on the scale of accomplishments!

Instead, in viewing your travel videos, they are more or less the same as the US in terms of basic infrastructure, roads, cars, hotel rooms, shops, apps.
