      Our stoeger (exact same model as in your video) is our 1st option for home defense...we added a $20.00 recoil pad which has done wonders for practice, a box of birdshot every couple of months...nothing brings sound sleep like a double barrel at the ready...

    I’ve had a Stoeger coach gun for about 12 years. It’s a nice shooting gun, definitely would welcome a recoil pad with buckshot and slug loads. Another advantage to the coach guns in 12 gauge is that you can shoot the mini shells for reduced recoil and still have the ability to shoot everything up to 3” shells. That CZ is beautiful.

    • @Localjadedealer
      @Localjadedealer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I shoot mini shells in my CZ hammer coach. Less recoil and I can get more in my pocket which means less trips to the shooting table. Definitely think my CZ is just as cool as my AKs. Some people get too cought up in shooting what they think everyone else thinks is cool...

  • @theoriginalOSOK
    @theoriginalOSOK ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The Stoeger's "automatic safety engage" is actually just a rod that pushes back on the safety lever when you break it open. If you shorten that rod, it no longer resets the safety, but the safety still works manually. I know this bc I have an older 20 gauge Stoeger Coach. I also just ordered a 12 gauge that I found (surprisingly) on-line - surprise! They are very hard to find right now.

      Snake, yea they’re made in Turkey now. I suppose the Czech workforce got too expensive, much like some of the German knife manufacturers who moved ops to China. Sigh. I will say this, though. I own several Turkish made firearms, and the quality is outstanding. My AR24 is a prime example, even though it didn’t last on the market for some specific reasons. I’ve honestly never felt safe with a break action that automatically cocks the hammers then needs to be broken to properly disarm it. I’ve always preferred the old schools with external hammers. Still a learning curve due to need to know which hammer you’re easing and that you aren’t accidentally dropping one on an unspent.

    Another good video. I'm so glad that you haven't turned into one of these crazies on TH-cam. Those that get into politics and or just advertise the hell out of everything, I don't come on here to watch commercials, thanks Dan!

    Which one would I choose? Hum well I bought a Maverick 88 instead of a Mossberg 500 or 590, so what does that tell you? If cost were not an issue and I could have only one it would definitely be the CZ. I have a Stoger O/U 12 ga of my own but when I bought an O/U for my son in law as a Christmas gift several years ago, it was a CZ.

    I noticed that the CZ has more of a side plate going down the stock for the action and the CZ also has a barrel selector on which one fires first on the safety

    If you are ever so fortunate to get your hands on a Pioneer Arms Coach Double...boy howdy, it's the finest Greener shotgun ever made.

    I got the Stoger double trigger, I wanted the rabbit ears (hammers) but couldn't find one reasonable.
    When I got mine after 100 rounds I had to use my knee to break it open but the more I used it the easier it was too use.
    I dont like them auto safety, I spent $25 for a rubber end for the kick
