My swing videos show what an instructor once called a soft left knee staying flexed and I never finish through correctly. I will try what you have mentioned. Thanks for this lesson
Watched this last night and tried it today with a short iron (PW) . Wow - amazing! Biggest difference I've ever experienced. So much more distance even with the PW.
Excellent advise Ryan on how to correct the lower body movement in the downswing! I like this pushing down into the left foot, avoiding the "goat hump" and maintain structure to get the left ass cheek properly rotated in the downswing! Something I will be working on! Great Job Ryan!
Yes, many people trying this alone will go into early extension. To rotate the left hip into rotation, it also requires the right leg/knee to also turn/twist counter clockwise onto the toe finish. Think like doing the twist dance move. Its easier to use both legs to turn both hip around. Good luck!
Something I have been struggling with. Getting that left hip out of the way and getting good rotation through the hitting zone. Have to kick the tires and give this a try out.
Great vid. I don’t think about anything, I just try to feel my lead hip/arse cheek is replicating (rotate around and up ⬆️) what my trail hip/arse cheek did on the takeaway/backswing (rotate around and up ⬆️)
@@kuvincent9934 probably best to see a coach mate. See me for personalised coaching or join my academy and u can get an analysis inside there. Only way to truely help you is to see your swing
Correct advice but it never really worked for me pushing out of the ground with the lead leg. What worked perfectly and had exactly the same effect was simply getting on to the outside of my lead foot asap, toe up heel down, you can't do that with a bent leg!
How good is your golf ? Not where you’d like it to be I’m guessing because you’re watching golf instructional videos. That being the case why question the instruction received ? If you’re a golf sceptic as per your name just don’t watch the instruction. If you have the attitude that the instructor’s ‘feels’ wont be the same as yours then you will never be persuaded. How can anybody answer the question you posed ? This was a video more about a mechanical motion. Maybe if you tried the motion you’d experience a different ‘feel’. Either way you seem to be wasting your own time watching instructional videos whilst closed to the ideas they propose. Which is kind of … well …dumb !
@@Trueblue222 Touché! Although I'm not watching these videos for the reason you think I am. I like that you understood the absurdity of the "feel" question. That's why I asked it.

Best explanation of the move I’ve seen yet. Kudos!!
@@davewakefield8614 thanks mate, glad u enjoyed it
Simple but absolutely brilliant Ryan! Much easier to move the left hip back this way also. Cheers from the Olde colony

Excellent video. My pro uses a tennis ball cut in half under the ball of left foot. Squish the ball to straighten left leg, rotate lead hip.
@@jimwgt yes love that
Great video, your slow motion movement is on point.

Well explained. I just can't do the drill without a club.. I need to feel the weight of the clubhead at P5 to time the lead leg push

@@ryanmouquegolf Well physically I can, it's just that I find it easier to replicate the feel when having a club swinging in slow motion 3/4

Same principle as when chipping
That may be the most frequent use of "@$$ cheek" I've ever heard in a 10 min video ;-p
Perhaps Gluteus Maximus would be more anatomically correct? Didn’t Tiger a while ago say he was working on firing his ‘glutes’?
Made me cringe
Thanks Ryan, i tried your advice but all my ball slices....am i doing something wrong..pls help
