Great video man! I love the 145 and flying it at Piedmont is a blast! Hope she never dies! American wants PDT to get up to 100 145s, and we are trying too, but it’s hard to attract captains and keep the ones we have, (since the majors are hiring so much) so we’re stuck around 60ish, slowly growing though! It is interesting the way American schedules our routes, basically 70-80% always the same routes, then the rest come and go month by month, (like a lot of ORD flying one month, then not much the next). CLT-JAN just started and I’ll fly it next week! Anyway! Great video as always!
Thanks a lot man, I’ve heard many pilots praise this jet. That’s really interesting how PDT wants to get over 100! Surely they’ll snatch the ones currently parked in the desert.
@@ASAviation yeah! It’s a great bird! Not a single fatal incident/accident in its history. A safety record not matched by any other airliner in service the same amount of time!
No offense, but when I see PDT 145s in CLT or ORD, I look from the 175 and feel bad for you guys. An audible "wah wah" doesn't go amiss. 😂 Just kidding. We're all fAAmily, amiright?
@@burncycle4621 I understand and one of my biggest gripes is the pax experience. But for me, I've been here almost 2 years, already upgraded to CA and hold a line in CLT. Should hit 100 hours captain time this week. If I end up flowing it'll be in probably 2.5 years, (+- 6 months). Getting TPIC as quick as I can and loving it! We are also supposedly getting 175s in 2 years or so. I probably won't fly it, my the aviation nerd in me really wants too.
Will miss seeing these little guys in Champaign, I feel like i grew up with them. They did their job well. I'm glad my last flight on one of these was from DFW-CMI, a proper goodbye.
I have 3 years of flying experience on the EMB-120, 3 plus years in both right and left seat in the E140/145, and going on 1.5 in the left of the 175. The 145 was a great aircraft, and it was a ton of fun to get to fly. N933JN ironically was my last 140/145 to fly before switching to the 175 a few months before the official fleet retirement. I did ORD-MHK-DFW. It was a fun experience and a full circle to have flown it as a kid to being the Captain of it.
I worked on one of the last flights in our DFW hub! Specifically, I did the last flight between DFW-GGG. It was time for its retirement, but I appreciate how revolutionary it was for American Eagle back in 1998. It was our first jetliner!
Former Piedmont Dispatcher here. I dont see the 145s going anywhere soon at Piedmont. I think they will have that aircraft for awhile since it just replaced the dash-8s
i worked on these for close to 3 years. While I'm a tad sentimental in it was the first plane i ever touched after A&P school, I wasn't sad to see them go.
Having flown ORD-CWA numerous times in years past, with the 145 now retired, will that route get the CRJ-200 or the E175? Looking at your flight map of routes radiating from PHL, seeing the MSN and MKE route--do those flights make a stop in MKE to/from MSN? Hopefully somebody was on the final flight CWA-ORD and filmed it!
From a passenger standpoint, the CRJ-200 is a horrible airplane, cramped and uncomfortable. Can't wait till they are gone. I'm actually surprised they have lasted this long.
How was it? I'm flying round trip on one at the end of the month. Scared of flying to begin with, never been on a plane this small. Let alone it's longest flight.
Good riddance. The planes interior is too small. I’m 6’04” and I can’t even stand up straight in one of these things. The bathroom is even smaller. I say adios to this miserable little plane.

Couldn’t agree more and exactly the same with me. My last flight was the opposite CMI-DFW but back in January.
One of my favorite planes. I’m so happy I got to fly on it back in 2021 before it got retired
The 145 was the plane that started my love for planes.

Dad: Why are you crying so dang loud?
All jokes aside, I salute the E145 for being a really useful little airliner.

Man such a legendary plane sucks bro to see it retire

What were the common faults with them?
1 ex envoy e145 now operates with the argentinian air force, under registration t-96
I'll be flying on one when I fly from Ft Wayne to Charlotte and back. I'm flying to Italy in june
You should review the crj 200 on a route from Champaign to Chicago so you can review how bad it is
I flew the CRJ 200 just from ORD to MSN, it indeed was bad, even for that short flight

CWA is now on the CRJ-200. MSN and MKE are separate flights from PHL.

I'm flying on this Tom

OK Mr. Too Tall
The ERJ 145 will be missed! 🫡🫡
MY Thoughts on the CRJ 200:Overrated
My dad flew on a united crj200 recently, he said the ceiling was so low he couldn't stand up straight in the aisle
@@airplanesforlife1260 Yep Thats why its overrated
Man such a legendary plane sucks bro to see it retire
