Actually, no matter where Gabriel sits it's the best seat, lucky dog. Those Embraer jets climb like nobody's business! Flying in Namibia seems to be from one oasis to another. Professional pilots in a professional video. Thanks - Jim
What a great video to watch before taking a flight. It is hugely reassuring to see that, on even a short hop, skip and a jump of a flight, the professionalism, discipline and unwavering attention to the smallest detail is taking place faultlessly. Many thanks guys.
Definitely, and that's great you find it reassuring. These guys are really top class pilots! One thing I've found from doing many of these now, most of the folks up front in command of aircraft are very high-quality people. It's one fun thing about this work, getting to hang out with them and learn from them.
As the father of a flight attendant I have a real interest in airliners and I can't get over how sophisticated they are. And the fact that they work perfectly almost all the time is a tribute to our engineering and scientific experts and the airline industry as a whole.
Always love smaller airlines…I believe they are more professional and maintain their aircraft better. I believe the fellows in the cockpit are a different breed of pilot…exceptional.
Loving these vlogs a country I can only dream of visiting but if I won the U.K. lottery definitely would visit without hesitation but for now have to view it through your camera so thanxs for bringing us this 😊😊😊
They're Namibian as the other commenter pointed out, but I think it's something you can say equally for SA and Namibian pilots - every single one I've met has been absolutely a pro
Lovely. I'm ftom Angola, you were very close to the border. Actually I guess Cpt Christian mentioned Ondjiva (in Angola) in his approach briefing. Love your videos. You must ride on a Sling.
Remember when you'd pay tons of money to buy a "Just Planes" video? Seems like moons ago. This is absolutely the way forward. Love it. I wonder if anyone still buys there stuff.
Good question, I think most people watch Just Planes on TH-cam now. I like to think I bring something a little different to the table. Their videos are awesome too! And they've been on literally everything, it's incredible. @justplanes
CG can definitely be a challenge on the ERJ, especially on models without the added weight of reverse thrust. We can usually resolve it by moving passengers around, but forward CG becomes tricky on full flights with no reversers and minimal cargo load-common when flying businessmen or mine staff. As a last resort, we sometimes have to load ballast bags to compensate. Funny enough, even you sitting in the front jumpseat can contribute to a forward CG issue! 😂
I remember being on a BMI regional 145 from Frankfurt to Bristol with 9 people on it and they changed everybody’s seat numbers to be in the seats over the wing so guess it does matter😮
Generally speaking no issues with CG on these aircraft unless they are complete empty, then you might need to +/- 100 kg of ballast in the cargo hold. As long as there are passengers onboard, no CG considerations under normal circumstances.
QQ should the pilot be looking into places like landing gear ports and whatever those valves are at :55 secs with sunglasses? How well can he see in the dark recesses?

Thanks a lot! Yeah the Embraers are great.

As an ERJ pilot in South Africa, i really really enjoyed this. Please do more regional videos!
Thanks, this was super fun to make!

It's true they are truly incredible machines.
Love the Namibian videos!
They were so fun to make!

These pilots were truly top notch.
Lovely to watch aircrafts we maintain featured on the channel ❤
Nice! You're doing a great job, clearly.
great aircraft, great pilots, great flight over amazing Mama Africa. Thanks for sharing
I felt very lucky to get to ride along, and always feel lucky to be in Africa!
Yay! Loving all the southern African content
Thanks it's super fun to make it.
This is a cute little jet😊
Love the ERJ

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed!
Typical South African pilots, professional and thorough all throughout their flight routines!❤
Namibian pilots😊

Nice video -thank you did my air-force camps up there in Ondangs - has grown i see-was nothing there in 1983
Oh very cool! Yep I guess back then there was no terminal eh?

Love the video!
Interesting mix of metric and Imperial (altitude in feet, temps in Celsius). I have driven this route several times - takes a LOT longer 🙂
Yep it’s like that throughout most of the world in aviation! Very interesting for sure.
The embraer yoke is so funky
Great content! keep it up

Wow very interesting, thanks for the info!
Enjoy our continent, Gabe!
Always love it! Thank you.
Wow so beautiful
Thank you!
You can see Ondangwa was an old South African Air Force base during the Bush War. That runway goes on for miles.
All very nice. With no weather kicking off like it did for me the other day at JNB 😂
Hehe yeah!

Interesting!
Add an "ask" to your interviewees as to what their path to the pilot's seat has been, please.
Good idea!
❤

Where are the pilots from?
Namibia
Both pilots are Namibian. Both are instructors as well. Approximately 25 000 hours of experience between the 2 of them.
That's correct!
QQ should the pilot be looking into places like landing gear ports and whatever those valves are at :55 secs with sunglasses? How well can he see in the dark recesses?
I'm sure he's able to see adequately or he wouldn't do it. This guy knows what he's doing.
First🎉
first?
first
Captain is soo huge i wonder which aircraft he used to train definitely not a Cessna 172🤣🤣
Both are actually instructors on a myriad of aeroplanes including small Cessnas 👍
