Get What You Pay For - Aimaculate AR Folding Adapter

- The Aimaculate AR Folder ads have been making the rounds on social media. I compare it to a Law Tactical adapter and torture an Aimaculate to see how long it will last.
Spoiler, not long.

Haven't gone through the comments to see if this has been mentioned. But Aimaculate was also caught stealing GunTuber's videos of the Law folder and passing them off as videos on the Aimaculate folder. I've been warning people about this company for months at this point. Great video man!
This is 💯 correct! Great point!!!
Thanks! I was about to buy one! Saw it on a Facebook ad, and was about to spend that dough...didn't think it would destroy my gun!!
Wish I saw this before I bought the dang thing... wasn't smart enough to research it first smh
Six months later and this video is STILL saving people money. Appreciate it.
That was my only aim! I would hate for someone to buy something that wouldn't work.
"The Room" clip and this^^^ earned a you subscriber! Thanks!
@@timmytimay602 thank you! 🙏
The just as good crowd taking major hits lately
Your BCA AR pistol seem to be juZ aS gUt
There are certain parts that you can go with “just as good” like a lower end red dot if someone wants to cheap out…but going cheap on mission critical parts that directly effect the firing of a weapon is just stupid. It would be like ordering a barrel of Wish and then wondering why the gun blew up…some people are just stupid!!!
I was about to pull the trigger on the aimaculate 4 pack - figured I should look at reviews first. Glad I did. Didn't see anything good about them. Thanks for checking this out.
Glad I could help!
Same here
Aluminum or steel?
Their 30 day guarantee is a joke, if the unit has been fit checked, it’s not returnable, they finally offered me of 60% since they have “costs” with the product. Their web says it’s made from the 4140 steel, but, it’s really aluminum, cheap junk!
Same same same!!
The fakebook ads for these things are just too much. I have law folders. They all work perfect.
Right?!!! It’s infuriating tbh
Yeah we can't put affiliate links on Facebook, but we can buy their cheap Chinese made crap...
HARD NO on Facebook ads by no-name companies. Thanks for showing us why!
100%!!! I wanted to get the word out!!!
I just saw an ad for these at $200 for 4 of them and I was thinking that sounds too good. Ive been in the market for a folding stock with a standard ar15 upper or an upper line the BRN180 with a side folding stock on a 1913 or similar. Glad i came across your detailed video.
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching
Purchased and just requested a refund 😂. Literally the one time I don't research a product before purchase
@@p.j.reynolds9989 I worked with my credit card company to do a "chargeback" once Aimaculate refused my refund. It worked and I was able to get my money back.
I bought an Aimacurate and have not had any problems. Tge reason it failed in this video was improper assembly. They obviously did not thread the buffer tube in far enough to retain the spring pi. The result of not doing that caused the pin to shear, causing failure to reliad etc;..
Disappointed with these guys. Unfair review. If your going to be credible, you got to honest and fair.
$200 for 4 means that you're buying 4 and making the company's sales that much easier to grab as much as possible before getting caught.
Thanks for posting this man, I was actually considering getting one of those Aimaculate folders, until i saw this video,...and all the comments concerning this. Thanks again.
Great!!! I’m glad you saw it and are staying away! Pass the word if you can.
I agree, it is bad. I wrote the company and they told me since it is a promotional item, the return policy doesn't cover this for a return
.
The Sylvan arms gen 4 folder is well made and works for my needs.
Right on...thanks for watching!
I run the sylvan arms folder as well. I’d never use a folder other than sylvan or law tactical.
I love mine also
I installed one from Sylvan Arms and it lasted for maybe 30 rounds
I grabbed one, knowing it wasn't going to be a law. It's unfortunately made from soft aluminum not even aerospace grade. So it's on a 22 AR. Law tactical is made with steel for a reason.
Absolutely!!!
Great side by side comparison. I also saw the same FB ads for Aimaculate and was interested in getting a folding stock adapter. As you clearly demonstrated you get what you pay for. Quality materials increases durability.
Thanks for watching!!!
I have at least 5 LTs and have not had any problems yet. Thank you for this comparison.
😂😂😂😂 the way the spring shot out. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Right?! 🤣
So glad I found this video. Thank you for giving all of us this review!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the review I’m sitting here looking at my computer about to purchase one and decided to check TH-cam for reviews. I’m glad I came across your video.
Awesome!!! I’m glad it helped!
I was so close to ordering one of these today. So glad I took the time to research. Thanks for the great video.
Glad I could help!
This dishonest type of business is apparently a cancer now-a-days. There are everywhere.
Thank you for the heads up on this one. 👍👍
You bet!!! Thanks for watching
Be careful. But solid companies do exist.
On the AR folders. I see them as a very specialized tool in the tactical toolbox. Nothing more and nothing less. I think they make more sense on the AR-180 and AK builds than they do on the AR. I loved the one I was given to put on my M-85. It made carrying it around a whole lot less noticeable. Like your expierence it didn’t survive the first maybe the second range session when the hinge pin came out under recoil. Currently looking for a new one.
Valid points! Thanks for watching boss!!!
Thank you for your demonstration , i just purchase one of this AR folding and about to return it. I dont know if they will honor it but we'll see.
Did they refund you?
They will offer 60% refund… have your credit card provider do a chargeback
Thanks for the review, was about to screw up and order multi-pak. Canceled whole order and will stick to my Law-tactical,already have two and they are excellent. Knew it was too good to be true.
Good to hear!!!
@@BuddyWelch-c7k how were you able to cancel the order? Just placed one 3 hours ago and I have emailed them asking to cancel.
Contact your credit card company if you have to
I have the law folder and was eyeing the other one for my next build. But your video has helped me understand why not to do that.
Thank you 🙏🏼
I’m glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and please share it with your friends
If you’re going to get a folder, just spend the $ and get a LawTac. From what I’ve found they seem to be the best on the market today. With that being said, I personally am not a fan of folders (on DI’s), I view them as adding another point of possible failure. Separating the upper/lower/can allows me to fit an 11.5 into my pack. I understand that it’s a slower process for deployment but that’s a trade off I’ve accepted. The only folding stocks I’m comfortable with are on piston rifles.
That’s fair…thanks for watching
“Piston Rifles” …. Sig 516 is a “piston rifle.” The gas operation system doesn’t objectively define the recoil system on the back end. FM-15, CMMG Dissent both “DI” with no buffer tube systems. HK416, Sig516, Caracal 816, POF 415, PWS… all “Piston Rifles” that are buffer tube AR’s. I know what you’re trying to say but some people don’t. What you mean is a system designed to have a folder from the beginning. That’s how I feel about it as well. I’d just do whatever I gotta do suck it up and get a MCX.
The best on the market? Better than deadfoot arms?....you sure?
@@JericoGoodsyup law tactical folder is better because it doesn't require a custom BCG and all that stuff. Rather have mil spec BCG and buffer. Looks cool but it's a law folder or nothing.
I have both a law tac on my 300 blk 10.5 and a sylvan arms folder on a .556 10.5 and both are solid but the law is slightly more sturdy. Thes knock offs are chinesium junk. I was gifted a few and they all broke at the hinge while adjusting. Pure garbage
Thanks for saving me money. Facebook ads have been pushing these hard
Glad I could help
Came here because of the facebook ad and i'm glad i did because i was about to buy two of the Aimaculate adapters.
I’m glad I was able to save you some heartache
Thank you, I've been bombarded by ads for this, especially after looking at the link. Just laying out the fundamental function it is doing, I might hold out for a Spear or mcx, if not go with LAW.
Glad to help
Thank you saved me a bunch of money
Good to hear! 🙌🏻
Great video. It’s always interesting to see gear fail and diagnose what caused it. Great truck gun! I set my truck up in a very similar manner.
Thanks OG!!! Next video I’m recording is a once over of the rifle.
Thank you for saving me $130! Great unbiased, fact-based video!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this information. I always wondered about these style adapters in general. Im even skeptical about other brands.
However this points me in the correct direction. Thanks again.
Glad I could help!
Thank you for saving me from the agony of buying junk. I got 5he law tactical. Great product. 👍🇺🇸
Awesome!!! Thanks for watching
Ejecto springo lol when that adaptor opened and shot the spring out i died 😂
LOLZ…I was flabbergasted when it happened
Law tactical had a gen 4 with a proprietary bcg that allows folded firing, since they pushed that one, there was a deep discount sale on their gen 3 so I picked up one. I had used the chinesium one for quite a while, but it needed constant adjustment with a set punch to keep it tight and I did have to file quite a bit of the open stop lever to clear the bcg when cycling.
I have the ARIC and will be doing a follow up video soon with it.
Great video, as always. Great seeing you on Friday. Always liked your content and hope to see more in the future.
It was great to see you too Chris! Thanks for stopping me and chatting!
Thank you for this review!! You just saved me from making a mistake in purchasing the Aimaculate folder.
Thx for vid and comments everyone. Saved me some cash even with the buy 1 get 2 free, it’s not worth buying bad products.
I’ve been looking at this for a while, I’ve searched TH-cam for a critical review, up until now there haven’t been any. Now they are running a $50 special. 4 for $200. Still to expensive for scrap metal. Thanks😊
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the information, man, I hope you settle that dispute with that company!
Thanks for watching! 🙌🏻
I'm glad I found your video before buying the aimculate one. Those damn facebook ads almost got me to waste my money.
Glad it was helpful
Same
Wish I would have watched this first. Your video was spectacular. Well done and thank you
Mine failed exactly as you showed…I’m upgrading to the Law Tactical…aimaculate won’t even answer my request to get answers..
Contact your credit card company and request a chargeback. Tell your cc company they will not return your emails for a replacement/return and they’ll do an investigation and should refund your money….mine did
Thats what I would do ☝️
Wish I had seen a video like this before I bought two of them.
Return them or get with your credit card company and do a chargeback for a defective product
Any problems with them?
@FitnFire i wish I did, I didn't install them for a few months after purchasing. Was busy with life, just finally got around to doing it. Then found out they were garbage. Live and learn
@@ScottMiller-b6qabsolutely, the action will not rack, the inside binds up on a piece inside the folding adapter. The actual release mechanism inside hits and binds up not allowing it to slide all the way back.
I've got several Law Tactical on different caliber AR-15s. They're built like a brick outhouse. One aspect to keep in mind is the weight of the BCG extension. Take that into account when choosing buffer weight. It's not a 1:1 increase, but does have a measurable effect.
The BCG adapter sheered because u fired it open. The BCG retaining bracket moves out of the way when u close the folding adapter. It says not to fire it in the open position.
This is a direct copy of the Law Tactical who says theirs can be fired opened. So, naturally I tested both equally.
Incidentally, if you look at the BCG adapter close up shots you’ll see 2 gouges that were caused by simply charging the rifle. So, in the extended and locked configuration, the BCG extension was still causing/receiving damage.
This is well documented on my Instagram account.
@@FitnFire I know the buffer weight & spring retainer pin is a huge problem
@@vegasranger the buffer weight isn’t an issue. The issue is the crappy design and cheap parts Aimaculate provides that didn’t even stand up to 1 round being fired in the extended locked configuration
@@FitnFire The law tactical on has "close before firing" stamped right on it. Where do they say you can fire it folded?
@@hot4teach2the engineer who developed it told me it can and Aimaculate wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Well, I should have checked first. I bought the three pack. Their customer service was pretty responsive after a few days around the new year. Now I dont wanna put these on my gun and I dont know what to do with them.
Good luck…should you try to get a refund, start with the company first…they’ll decline. Then call your cc company and do a charge back for faulty products
I have a LAW Tactical on my AR and it has never had any issues with it.
Good to hear!!! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
Sylvan arms folding adapter is a good middle. I have one and it’s great…and slightly lower cost (cheaper is not the right word). I’ll be getting one more
Seen couple of ads on Facebook I'm glad I didn't purchased, I knew it's going to be a crap...
Right on!!! Spread the word
I just received mine today. I then found your video and just emailed them to return it. I just looked at their return policy, this might be interesting.
If they give you any slack, just call your credit card company and do a charge back for defective products and refusal to honor their return policy.
Man, first the KP15 lower. Now this? Crazy week for lower breakage issues.
😬🤷🏼♂️ …thanks for watching
Thank you for this video!! I was almost fooled in buying
I’m glad I was able to help
I’m happy I watched this video before I purchased, they almost got me with the buy one get two
Thank. Goodness! Thats all I’m wanting to do is ensure they do NOT swindle anyone out of any more money.
I have wanted to get into similar style rifles but definitely want it to have a folding stock cuz being in a wheelchair somethings are too cumbersome to want to use and I think a rifle setup with a folding stock would be the best to actually want to practice with.
Thanks for watching
I’ve got the LAW folder on my DDM4 SBR. Zero issues. Get an extra extension and you’re solid. Trying to save money on gun stuff is reasonable being cheap on gun stuff is stupid.
I knew it was too good to be true but I was hoping I'd be wrong for once. Thanks for the video
You’re most welcome! I’m glad you didn’t get ripped off.
The IG ads got me to buy this smh I wish I saw this video before I bought it will returning mine thanks for the video !
If they give you any static about returns, just do a chargeback on your credit card.
I cant really blame people for buying these off brands tbh when someone asks nearly $300 for a piece of folding metal and the other one askes $40 its pretty wild the difference in price. Would I buy one of the cheap ones to try out on a shit gun sure would I spend $300 for an expensive fold for something not really no neither of then are really useful so no point in asked $300 for a useless part
The difference is one is meant for firearms and the other wouldn't even work on airsoft.
Don't have a use for a folder. A standard 16-inch carbine works well for my truck gun. 🤠
Not a bag gun tho. Starting to sound like a fudd. “mY 16iN cArBiNE iS aLl i NeEd”
Thanks for watching
Dude sounds like Kermit. But good video.
🐸
I heard it as soon as I read your comment 😂.
The chad cost effective crowd, vs the virgin JUst aS gOoD crowd.
They have a Father’s Day special of buy one get two free. Almost bit. Did a Aimaculate review. Your was the first to pop up. Glad I watched it.
Oh good...I'm glad you didn't get took.
Thanks for posting this! I almost effd up.
I am glad that I was able to help
I've got a Gen 3 Sylvan Arms folder on a AR9. I've had experience with Gen 3 Law Folders. Frankly, they both suck pretty bad to me. I've concluded that if I want something actually compact I'm just going to get something with a self contained recoil assembly.
Fair enough...thanks for watching
Appreciate the different content!!! As well as the heads up.
Thanks for watching!
i knew it was bs wen they advertised "thousands of rounds" 😂
Right?! 🤣
@@FitnFire and they also have a buy 1 get 2 free deal for $153😂
I have a folding adapter on my Ruger PCC. Love that I can fold it into a smaller package for storage. Would love to have one on my AR.
Right on…thanks for watching
You’re tearing me apart Lisa!
🤣🤣🤣
when I bought the knock off I notice the buffer tube retaining pin was crap so I never even used those. crap, what are the cost on good ones anyway, a buck fifty?? I never would fire with the stock folded either, so no issues there, however I was skeptical like you. I've only shot a few times and everything works, but I did notice the play where it wasn't latching in place and being solid. Now I will say that I did reach out to them to try and get guidance as to how to secure the allan screw that goes in from the bottom to hold the buffer tube retaining pin. they didn't respond until I bugged the crap out of them, and when they did that had absolutely no answer for me. what I had to end up doing, because lock tight disn't work, is taking a punch and smash some threads on the bottom of the folding stock adaptor to prevent the allen retaining screw from backingout. All in all I agree with you, they are cheaply made. maybe down the line mine will fail, I took a chance, I put a few dozen rounds through a couple of the guns I installed these on and so far the all worked. on one of them though if you don't hold the sholder stock straightwhen you pull the charging handle back, it does catch the handle and also when you get past that, the buffer binds in the tube, but that was on one gun, the other didn't do it. But I appricate the video and now I know more. was trying to find some info at the time I was looking into these and not much out there at all at that time
Thanks for watching g
I am glad I got rid of my truck. Everyone always asked what gons did I have? I no longer have to worry about someone breaking into my truck thinking I had a gon inside.
Just using a faxon 6” 300@ blackout 1:5 twist has kept mine small. I just got the 7.5” in and can’t wait to feel the difference
Well frak. I just got one. Mine feels strong, but now I am worried. Going to find out some time soon. If it survives, I will be happy.
Good luck
I purchased one of these and haven’t seen any of the failures on these videos. There is upward movement on the hinge though. The part where the adapter would fold under slight pressure seems a little suspect to me as the “pin” goes far enough to where it can only be opened when the button is pressed.
Holy crap 😮 no wonder their sending me adds talking about "8 adapters for $250" 😂
Exactly
Yeah I bought the set and put it on my AR pistol. The locking mechanism was snug at first. There were no snagging issues with testing the BCG. I took it to the range to zero a new scope. I didn't even shoot 40 rounds. I went to break it down to place in my bag, and the buffer spring lip was broken and the spring shot out. The hinge loosened as well and that had to be tightened up. I'm ordering more parts now :( I only bought it because a coworker I know is savvy on guns. I guess this one was a hard miss.
Great video thx...i just saw it to late, lol...I bought a two pack of them "$160" in case one didn't work, they're both garbage, I got a hold of Aimaculate 4 days before the 30 days and they ignored me for 4 days and then told me it was too late... I got a hold of my bank and they refunded all my money...👍... Now I have two garbage folders in my gun safe. I tried them multiple times and they came up with different issues each time not worth it...😢 Did you ever get your money back from the bank?
I’m sorry for your trouble but I am very happy to hear you got your money back. I did a charge back on my credit card and after my bank’s investigation, they determined I WAS entitled to a refund. They refunded the money in full. 👍🏻
Thanks for making this video. I kept seeing those adds on Instagram and they almost got be before I stumbled upon this video. Glad I didn’t make that purchase.
Oh good!!! I’m glad they didn’t get your money!
Spent good money on LAW tactical.
Right on…thanks for watching
I never had much interest in these folders so I didn't pay attention to any of the manufacturers. I just built a MK18 replica as a trunk gun and Last week I seen a ad for the Aimaculate folder parts and it was 2 sets for $99 and I really liked how it can easily fold to go into a backback. I didn't research it which I almost always would especially with a item/manufacturers I don't have info on. I received my 2 sets a few days ago and installed them both. I haven't had them in the field yet so I can't comment on how they will hold up with usage. I had thought they were made well and I didn't notice how bad the wobble is between the tube and the endplate section. It's not severe but I certainly prefer not to have any wobble. I'm really hoping I can tighten up that wobble and I'm gonna hit the range this Monday. Have you heard any positive Reviews on these? At least they were only $99. Im mostly upset with myself for my lack of research on these
I recommend that you open and close this 50+ times to see what happens with the wobble. What I can tell you, it WILL fail...just a matter of time.
@FitnFire I appreciate the advice and the one on my mk18 clone seems to function as it should at least so far but my 2nd one I can feel a hiccup when racking the charging handle. It feels horrible and it's easy to see how it breaks there. I appreciate your help with this
An idea, for sure.
Needed? Depends on the person's mission.
Agreed! Thanks for watching
I got an aimaculate, wouldnt recomment it but if you use your original retainer pin it works fine, also theres a screw you can to keep it closed
Have you compared the Law Tactical to the Sylvan Arms folding stock adapter?
Not yet
Thanks I was thinking about that Aimaculate , I can’t believe that piece of crap , definitely Law tach, is exactly what I need, good job
Glad to help
I have been going back and forth on buying the lawtac. Facebook ad showed 2 of these for 150. It said it was 4140 steel. It also said some comments were filtered out too. It feels like all these ads are rippoffs
They are
…thanks for watching
Too good to be true
About to try out the adapter I just got from Sylvan Arms. I just need a truck gun that I can throw into a backpack if I need to leave my vehicle.
I just installed a AIMACULATE and I’m not happy
Sorry to hear that!
Law Tactical folder is the Gold Standard and will always be, there’s no way I’d trust another folder other than a Law Tactical. I have 2 Law folders and I’ve never had any issues with them whatsoever and one is on my 11.5” Type A which is my main squeeze and I’ve put thousands of rounds down range with it both suppressed and unsupressed. It does add a bit of weight but since the rifle comes with me pretty much everywhere when I travel, the smaller size fits in my Winnebago Revel perfectly. I either bring my 11.5” or my Sig Rattler since that thing can fit into my backpack even with the suppressor attached to it.
Thanks for the info
I just got one from TX Tactics. I wonder if it’s the same knockoff. I can’t even get a mil spec buffer tube to thread into it. I’ve tried two different ones. I reached out to the company via email and so far crickets
Apparently they are the same company or the same product offered by two different companies with a different name slapped on the side.
Late to the party but just to mention that a couple of years ago, I wanted a truck gun that I could carry in a backpack. I bought a pistol kit from PSA 8.5" 300Blk. and a lower also. I saw a knock-off to the Law Tactical on Ebay and bought it. I dissasembled and noticed that the push button was very frail, so I made one of steel. So far it has hold all these years and I only paid like $25 for it. I did have to modify the buffer tube extension because I believe they make them for airsoft.
I sprung and bought something similar only because it said it was machined from 4140 steel. It was clearly aluminum and had a ton of play in it. I wouldn't dare shoot with it on. Straight into the garbage can 🤷♂
I was able to talk with my credit card company and do a charge back because of their false business practices
You should check out your rifle after that shot you took with the folder open... what stopped the BCG from moving backwards was likely the gas key striking the lower. I'd love to know if there was damage to either.
I have a LAW and a Sylvan Arms. Like them both. Just convient for storage in a pack.
Right on…thanks for watching
I got got and I started and looking into how to install i am like yaaa noo... then this video just sent me threw the roof. Sending back now lol.
They fuck you thru the drive thru
Funny thing is,their website use to say it was made of steel
It was never made of steel I can guarantee you that
So glad I watched your video, thanks for saving me money!
I unfortunately didn't search for reviews before getting a 4 pack lol. Just installed one.. mine locks up solid but does have a small amount of play. Haven't tried it out yet...
The old saying, keep it simple. The more moving parts, the more that can go wrong.
Thanks for watching
Folders on ARS that have buffer tubes in my opinion are just strictly for storage. Would be the only case it would be folded lat tactical came out with their system that shoots wall folded believe it’s their GEN four looks like they still need to work some bugs out on that thing.
Thanks for watching
Saved me a headache, thanks
