Musician reacts to AURORA Queendom

This Aurora reaction is genuinely my first time ever hearing her song "Queendom". Another thoughtful and unique song from her which I really enjoyed. Many unexpected musical sounds in this one. A feast for the ears.

When I do my reaction videos I don't press pause because I don't want to interrupt the natural flow of the music as it was originally intended by the artist. I try to vocalise my thoughts in real time as I listen to the song, and then summarise my reaction afterwards.

Aurora was recording all kinds of sounds while producing this album at La Fabrique, the challet studio in France. She was playing with light switches, gramaphones et. al., to use as percussion. When you get a chance, watch the "Once Aurora" documentary. You will see some of the creation of this album, as well as her earlier world tours.

Aurora is a bit of a percussive nerd, always experimenting with making unique sounds. Playing with non-musical items to see what sounds they make. She's also expressed distaste for the snare sound common in pop music. So your comments about the percussion definitely hit the mark.
