- This is a spontaneous sight reading recording, made yesterday, June 19 after a long day full of talks about ethics in a changing society and an adjacent 2 hour traffic jam. I had no intention to record something, but I'm happy I pushed the record button on my videodevice and Hauptwerk. I like it...
I love Italy and I love slow Italian Baroque music in general. When I listened back to the recording, I closed my eyes, felt the warm, lazy Italian sun on my skin, heard the rustling of the poplars in the rhythm of a gentle breeze, and in the distance, I heard the soft sound of an organ coming from an old village church on a hill, surrounded by swaying cypresses. This kind of music instantly transports me in mind to such landscapes. Perhaps that's why I enjoy playing it so much. I hope you like this one too. Recorded spontaneously yesterday after a long day of talks about ethics and after a 2 hour traffic jam. I hope you like this one!
For the best listening experience, I recommend using headphones, earbuds, or a hi-fi set. The sound dynamics of the pipe organ are truly remarkable and can be fully appreciated with high-quality audio equipment.
Played with the organ from the Martinikerk in Groningen, the Netherlands (Hauptwerk)

I could listen for hours ... I like such slooooow pieces.... it takes me to an other world ...
It’s a nice registration, I like it. Have a nice Sunday after your hard-working and successful Saturday.
Thanks! Today I re-recorded this one on the real pipe organ because a subscriber requested it!
Beautiful piece and performance~ Thank you! Rien😀😀😀
Thanks a lot Clara!
Beautiful piece
Thank you Lluís!
Martini composed wonderful music, so I was pleased to encounter this little one. Lovely registration.
Thanks Colin!
Wonderful dear Rien, fantastic organ music with such beautiful flute sounds!
Thanks! It’s a nice one indeed!
Wonderful sight reading ! It's a beautiful piece !
Thanks buddy! Looking forward to your piece this afternoon!
A lovely piece, almost like an Evelazione. Nice!
Thanks Ralph!
Interesting combination: high pitched melody and deep accompaniment.
Hahaha. I liked the combination so I tried it out!
For a spontaneous recording , it’s quite a success !
Thanks! As long as it’s slooooowww, I can manage this kind of short pieces pretty okay… ;-)
I like the 4' Flute solo!
Thanks!
Well, my alter ego (Sir James Bond!) might have liked his Martini shaken and not stirred . . . but I found you performance of this 'Grave' by Martini quite stirring and not at all shaken (with a tremulant), and beautifully registered and performed sublimely: bravo, Rien!
Thank you so much Graham! I really like this kind of sloooowwww baroque!
Quite lovely! But, for as lovely as it is -- and the digital acoustic is actually fairly good with this registration -- my ears would love to hear this on the Van Peteghem -- the 8' Bourdon with the solo played an octave higher -- and that lovely "real" acoustic there ... perhaps a "re-visit someday 🙂
Thanks! Well, tomorrow I have planned a recording day in Ulvenhout!
Prima uitvoering en leuke compositie (moe of niet).
Dank Nils! Ik hou echt van dit soort muziek!
Beautiful piece. Tablet broken? 😉
Thanks…. iPad was updating its OS. So this is one of a paper stack! ;-)
