Good stuff Sandro! I'd like to add something: To those people on a tight budget, the original RainX works extremely well if you prep the glass as instructed here. You can use any cheap compound & elbow grease. As for the IPA step, you can use Stoner Invisible Glass. You can get it on Walmart for like 4 bucks for a 950ml bottle, and it works on paint too! Even on relatively soft and black finishes, I haven't had any issues with it and if it's good enough to leave glass clean and streak free, it's good enough to apply coatings. I'd also like to add that if your glass is way too etched with waterspots (as was the case with my 88' Honda CRX) you'll have to polish it with Carpro Ceriglass. I just used a standard, white polishing foam pad and it left the glass flawless and ready for coating. Used rainX and that was some time in 2019 and it's still beading up incredibly! Mind you, it IS a garage queen, but goes to show that cheap products can also be excellent and durable if prepped, installed and maintained correctly.

Great tutorial Sandro! You know glass is super clean when you can't see the wiper blade travel path any more. Another way to remove bonded contaminates and super clean exterior glass is by using fine steel wool.

Great video. I use AngelWax H2Go which is less permanent, albeit still does many months. Only issue is some wiper chatter below 30mph (I'm not using them if I'm any faster). I'll try treating the blades with it. IMHO, the main advantage of these coatings is safety in horrendous rain. I can pass trucks on the motorway and, when the spray from them hits, I don't lose visibility. Ditto in heavy rain where everybody else is leaning forward over the steering wheel, eyes on stalks and wipers flat out. I just drive, relaxed with the wipers off!
I know not quite the same product but a review on NV Glass Lite would be good to see... I’ve started using it instead of Angelwax h2go and water repellency is great.
Excellent instructional video Sandro. I used NV Glass on my car but only did a single coating all the way around. When time comes to reapply I will follow your steps. I was still amazed by its water repelling properties and maintain it using Glass Lite every couple of months. Thanks again Sandro.
Hey Sandro! Thanks for the informative video. I purchased a bottle of NV Glass a couple months ago but haven’t gotten around to coating the glass yet. This video really comes in handy....That Nissan is looking awesome! If that is the same CarPro Lite coating on it CarPro really did a fantastic job with the Lite. Anyway, Happy Easter too you and the family!

Also Sandro there is product soporific glass polish, which has dioxides and resin to polish damaged or fine swirls in glass, but most people who run glass replacement places do not do it anymore, as the cost and time intensive, just replacement of the windscreen is cheaper?
I noticed the Lake Country HDO Microfibre Cutting Pads are half an inch more than the Shine Mate backing plates. For example would a 3.5" pad suit a 3" Shine Mate backing plate?
That’s normal, most pads are always larger than the backing plate for good reason (it’s safer) it’s just that many brands don’t give you actual size just the size of the backing plate it’s used for.

I do have one question what is the best way to remove soap scum from windshield I tried everything man polish to alcohol it’s still there and disappears when I hit it with heat but as soon as I wipe it with a watered rag it comes back or in rain it drives me mad I can barely see, thanks
Hi Sandro Great video. Followed the process and it works great. The only issue I have is when it rains lightly and the wipers (which were also given a coating) work on a slower speed the grippy glass makes the blades judder. Thanks, and unfortunately some wipers and/or windshield can be more prone to wiper chatter than others once coated. It can after some use go away at times, and sometimes topping the coating with a slicker quick detailer or spray sealant can also help.
I want to ask about NextZett Glass Sealant, I know that You have tested it in a video some time ago. I'm interested or application is the same as a Nv Nova Glass or a bit different? Because Nv Nova Glass doesn't give a haze affect if I'm correct. If I want to coat a few layers of NextZett Glass Sealant - should I coat the second one on haze/without removing the haze, or should I remove the haze first and then apply a second layer? I can't find any info, your video was one of a few about Nextzett Glass Sealant on TH-cam, purchased one a few weeks ago and want to try as fast, as I will have time to coat my windows. Thanks!
I haven’t used Nextzett enough to know everything about it’s application but since it doesn’t flash as quick as something like Nova Glass I would tend to give it more time, maybe a half hour between costs and stick to individual coats rather than consecutively layers it as I do with Nova. Based on how it behaved that would be the way I’d go.
Hi, ive installed the glass coating but when their are very tiny rain drops and I use my wiper there is a slight haze /whitish glare, is this normal? I deconned the car clay barred it then polished it and finished it with eraser
The coating shouldn’t add any glare/haze if it’s all been prepped correctly and levelled down clear and clear during the application. Glare can obviously occur on windscreens in the dry and wet and with or without a coating applied, but if you feel the glare/haze is something new and due to the coating, that’s different. I can’t say for sure what the issue is but I can try to guess: Haze/ghosting which can cause glare is usually due the coating not bonding sufficiently, it can occur due to polish/wax/silicone residue interference during application. Another possibility is that the coating may have not been completely levelled down, leaving a fine haze. Sometimes wipers can also be the cause of this issue - especially if they are becoming worn out. Some cars - such as Tesla- tend to have very finicky glass/wiper setups that can be problematic to any glass polishing/coating process. Even after doing this for decades now, there’s still rare times when wired things happen - like your issue - that I can’t always explain, but I hope that helps.
As always, super easy to follow and extremely helpful! I'm concerned in that, my car has that auto up feature when opening and closing the doors and te windows drop or go up about a 1/2" (to seal better against the rubber, since it isn't full framed windows). Will this damage the ceramic? Also.. what a gorgeous old Honda Cvcc!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing is anything ideal when it comes to car maintainence? 😂. But I'm glad it won't be too drastic of a difference. As always, Thank you!
Sandro! In this video, are you considering the 3 immediate applications (no leveling between) on the windshield 3 layers? Or are you doing that entire process 2-3 times on the windshield?
Nova Glass Lite has been developed to maintain and clean Nova Glass as well as be a more temporary standard glass sealant so that’s what I’d recommend, but I have used Boost over it and it seemed to work well.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Awesome, I have a bottle of Glass Lite and had forgotten about that entirely. Would it hurt anything to use shortly after application? Not that it is necessary, but I know Glass Lite is rather slick
Yes you can use it on glass, it’s just that sometime certain windshield and wiper setups can cause wiper chatter, usually doesn’t happen but it can on certain cars.
Awesome timing. I've got a bottle of NV Evo Glass & now I know exactly how to apply it. Just waiting for the warm humid weather we have been having lately here in Perth to go away. But my question is. What's best to clean the glass in-between car washes after its been coated?? Can't use an IPA, as it would start to strip the coating.. I've been using Scholls Ice Gel glass cleaner. After the coating, can I still use it??
Great to hear! Nv realised Glass Lite a few months back which is both a light cleaner and topper for Nova Glass, but in the absence of that just your car wash soap should do it and even just a very light IPA or glass cleaner dilution 1:10 or so isopropyl alcohol to distilled water.
What proper glass polish would you recommend buying I've heard good things about carpros ceriglass any better products out there? Thank you for another great video
I’d only use CeriGlass if the glass has bad scratches as it tends to leaves smaller micro scratches on the glass that are virtually impossible to remove, other wise really any car paint polish or compound is fine - I personally like and Finesse as it’s easy to work with.
meguiars hcw Full prep decon IPA, applied 2 dry coats on Saturday 1 week later today washing on roof and hood ok on sides-dead after the wash-dead other panels look a bit worse could it be shampoo? I used snow foam but that didn't look like did anything please help I lost 80% of my hope
It’s really hard for me to say what’s gone wrong with side panels, it could be a few different things, like your detergent/foam, some sort of contamination or existing paint protection on those panels prior to application, the product not being shaken up properly, some dirt or contamination on your cloths - I can only guess unfortunately
Thanks as always Sandro... a lot of glass coatings I have used recommend waiting for up to 20 minutes to buff off the residue, some with wait time between layers. In your experience then do these wait times have any advantage in terms of longevity or performance, as your method here was to apply consecutive layers then immediately buff?
Most glass sealants/coatings I’ve used generally ask you to wait unlit the products hazes over before levelling, which tends to happen quite rapidly with most of these coatings, and laying times should also be quite quick as most of these coatings flash and cure much faster than standard paint coatings, but as mentioned in the video others will have more specific time frames and instructions which is probably a good idea to follow.
I tend to use my paint coating for glass roofs as there’s no wipers or seals the glass rubs against which is the main reason you use dedicated glass coatings. But it’s really up to you and one coat can be absolutely fine but multiple coats can last potentially longer.
Awesome video Sandro! You're an amazing asset to the car detailing world. What's your opinion of NV Pro on glass vs Nova Glass? Thinking about getting Pro applied and that was an option due to using one bottle with one coat on the entire car including glass. Not sure if it's better or worse than an actual glass coating. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Nova Pro works great on glass I’ve had it own my own car for 4yrs+. However, depending on the specific windscreen and wipers it can like many other paint coatings cause wiper chatter and it’s hard to predict whether it will or not until you try it. On the other glass without wipers it shouldn’t be an issue and should work great lasting longer than Nova Glass in general.
Hi, So when you say to use only car polishes to clean the glass, Ceriglass is no good ? You mentioned that glass polishes contain sealants. I thought Ceriglass was a cutting polish designed to correct any minor defects in glass AND clean it at the same time. Does Ceriglass contain such sealants too ?
No I don’t believe CeriGlass contains those additives but others such as Autoglym, Meguiars and many other glass polishes do seem to leave sealants behind which would cause bonding issues with glass coatings. In my experience CeriGlass is great if the glass has significant scratches- you can reduce them with A Lot of work, ideally using a rotary, but CeriGlass does leave behind micro scratches that are virtually impossible to remove in my experience. So unless the glass is quite bad to start with I wouldn’t use it.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I have Ceriglass which I intend to use to correct a wiper blade streak, that's about it. Just reading your comment. Did you mean Ceriglass "does" or "doesn't" leave behind micro scratches ? I might try it out on a sacrificial piece of auto glass and see what you mean. I haven't used it as yet which is why I though to ask. Thanks for the fast reply mate. You're a Champion !
Great video as always Sandro! Question on Immolube: I’ve used it previously for claying @ CarPro’s recommended 1:5 dilution ratio, but it was extremely foamy which was a bit annoying. Do you find the 1:15 ratio you used in this video is still effective for lubrication while claying paint?
The Ethos Graphene Matrix on my side windows caused major chatter when rolling the windows up/down. I threw on a topper (Ethos Defy) and the chatter immediately disappeared. Thank goodness. I will be switching to dedicated wheel and glass coatings (NV Nova Wheel and Nova Glass) whenever the Ethos stops performing.
Hi I just want to ask the durability of these glass coating realistically ? Also do you see a massive lasting effect of Nova Pro over consumer grade Nova Ceramic coating? thanks I got a new car ordered and this is super important ! Thanks
Durability can be up to 2yrs with Nova Glass, I would say 6mths in extreme conditions and 1yr on average. I would expect Pro to last at least 50% longer than Evo.
It seems like many steps could just be replaced with fine steel wool or magic eraser and water. As you say, glass is much harder than car paint, you won't hurt it.
Hang on a sec, Sandro, you have said that compound polishes like all polishes do have oils in them, to help allow the spread of the products, so products like Maguire's glass polish or autonyms glass polish is the same thing right, a glass polish and not a paint polish?
I'm not sure why NV doesn't have a channel where they show how to apply their product, and we have to rely on guys like this which i do appreciate big time. Not a good look for their brand. I also find this stuff causes whipper chatter more so than any other coating, but it does bead up well so its win/loose so far.
I have watched this video twice now and I have to say Im completely lost. I used ceriglass several times and it always left some scratches on the windshield. I don´t understand what I did wrong. I barely used any pressure when I did it the last time. And still I can see new scratches on my windows :(

Sandro! In this video, are you considering the 3 immediate applications (no leveling between) on the windshield 3 layers? Or are you doing that entire process 2-3 times on the windshield?
The immediate 3 layers is the entire 3 layer process

Thank you Sandro! Just wanted to double check. Is it safe/recommended to apply Boost to Nova Glass shortly after application?
Nova Glass Lite has been developed to maintain and clean Nova Glass as well as be a more temporary standard glass sealant so that’s what I’d recommend, but I have used Boost over it and it seemed to work well.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing
Awesome, I have a bottle of Glass Lite and had forgotten about that entirely. Would it hurt anything to use shortly after application? Not that it is necessary, but I know Glass Lite is rather slick
As long as you allow Nova Glass a good 6-8hrs to cure, you’re good to use Glass Lite anytime there after.
I have plenty of Nova Jet. Just wondering, is Nova Jet not suitable for glass?
Yes you can use it on glass, it’s just that sometime certain windshield and wiper setups can cause wiper chatter, usually doesn’t happen but it can on certain cars.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Cheers Sandro. I’ll pick some NV Glass Light when I order next. All ready using NV Snow for car soap 👍👍
Most glass sealants/coatings I’ve used generally ask you to wait unlit the products hazes over before levelling, which tends to happen quite rapidly with most of these coatings, and laying times should also be quite quick as most of these coatings flash and cure much faster than standard paint coatings,
but as mentioned in the video others will have more specific time frames and instructions which is probably a good idea to follow.
Do you ever get wiper "chatter" after coating the windscreen?
No, no chatter, but I’ve used it before on the same car and it’s always been smooth on the wipers.
Hi How many coats on a glass roof?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks for info! You just did a single layer on your car and glass correct?
Yes
Can you do some Carpro Gforce v. NV glass testing?
Yes I’m certainly open to visiting some newer glass coatings like Gforce in a comparison video - I have used it and so far seems very good!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Soft99 also seems to be popular at the moment!
Does 🙂
Excellent video! Glass coating definitely has a learning curve. Is CQ lite still on the Honda?thnx. again for all the effort
Thanks, and yes it’s still on, but the car has also has other products tested on it over CQLite since.
Do you get your products from Waxit Car care because all the products you use are on there website
Yes most of my products are from there.
Great video as always Sandro! Question on Immolube:
I’ve used it previously for claying @ CarPro’s recommended 1:5 dilution ratio, but it was extremely foamy which was a bit annoying. Do you find the 1:15 ratio you used in this video is still effective for lubrication while claying paint?
Thanks, and yes 1:15 seems to be the sweet spot for me for all claying purposes and even wet sanding lubrication at times.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing
Perfect, thanks! I typically use Purify but I will be giving this a go again as I have plenty left over.
I used cquartz in the windscreen and it lasted for 1.5 years and 15k km. Would flyby improve that?
CQUK will tend to last longer than Flyby, but it can sometimes cause wiper chatter which is the main reason you’d use Flyby- to avoid that.
The Ethos Graphene Matrix on my side windows caused major chatter when rolling the windows up/down. I threw on a topper (Ethos Defy) and the chatter immediately disappeared. Thank goodness. I will be switching to dedicated wheel and glass coatings (NV Nova Wheel and Nova Glass) whenever the Ethos stops performing.
mister sandro your classic honda civic ? can we or i use any polish for the front window or do i need a glass polish ?
Yes it’s mine, and you can any standard paint polish to prepare the glass.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing cheers mate.
Is there a way to get the Economax Clay Cloth if you live in the US? I tried ordering it through Waxit Car Care but they don't ship here =(
Unfortunately I’m just not sure mate.
Sandro, can you please tell me what's the model/name of the handheld light you used when inspecting the glass at about 3/4 of the video?

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing believe or not, just found this comment while cleaning old comments in my history. Thanks you so much!!!
hello
how is the carpro reflect instead of finnesse?
Yes you can use Reflect instead.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks a lot. have a nice day.
How many days durability sir glass coating and result please tell me
Should last anywhere from 6mths to 2yrs depending.
Thank you sir
It seems like many steps could just be replaced with fine steel wool or magic eraser and water. As you say, glass is much harder than car paint, you won't hurt it.
Hang on a sec, Sandro, you have said that compound polishes like all polishes do have oils in them, to help allow the spread of the products, so products like Maguire's glass polish or autonyms glass polish is the same thing right, a glass polish and not a paint polish?
Many “glass” polishes are actually sealants or AIO polishes
I live in the US I can’t get any Nova products☹️ or at least it doesn’t give me the option to ship to the US

Hello from 🇲🇾. I would like if you could make how to remove swirls and scrathes on glass? 😊 thanks.
Okay, is nobody going to talk about those teal windshield wiper inserts? What are those!? Special silicone? Sandro- share with usssss.
Nothing special lol just some green silicone wiper blades from the auto store to match the green paint of the car.
8:52 that is beautiful to watch, mesmerising
I'm not sure why NV doesn't have a channel where they show how to apply their product, and we have to rely on guys like this which i do appreciate big time. Not a good look for their brand. I also find this stuff causes whipper chatter more so than any other coating, but it does bead up well so its win/loose so far.
Is it just me or did he coat the protectors that come on new wiper blades and not the rubber itself?
It’s just you lol ... they are green wiper blades
Mate you forgot the gloves as your own skin has oils which is left on the microfiber towels, :)
My favorite glass coating. Rain X in spray bottle form. 5 min later and you have a clean water repellent windshield
I have watched this video twice now and I have to say Im completely lost. I used ceriglass several times and it always left some scratches on the windshield. I don´t understand what I did wrong. I barely used any pressure when I did it the last time. And still I can see new scratches on my windows :(
that windscreen realy hates water now, holy shit
Is there no sound? Lol
