No, it prevents crappy guard pulls as a way to avoid points for takedowns. The rules note that if you take someone down and they have the threat of a submission points are not awarded for the takedown until the submission is cleared. So if you soot a double and get caught in a guillotine, you do not get points for the takedown until you clear your head. @@timothycarey3883

Eh.. couldn't tell
ya wtf
Kaynan never fails to win a boring match
Bodoni tried a single leg entry a ton of times and Kaynan defended them. Nobody did anything of substance here
Kaynan matches are always such a snooze fest
there were two competitors on the mat. Bodoni should have done something about it then.
@@mdp5775are you gonna sit here and pretend almost all Kaynan matches aren’t boring?
Amazing grip and positioning fight.
I really don't understand how him diving in for a leg constitute as the other guy getting a take down???
You can't pull to avoid a takedown sequence. If a guy has your leg or a rear body lock, etc. and you go to bottom it counts as two points.
So it discourages trying to counter takedowns with submissions, smart rule.@@AquaticPorrada

IBJJF format is outdated. This was a shame.
Kaynan is very boring to watch
IBJJF rule set is the worst…

IBJJF matches put me to sleep. Terrible rule set. People just play for points and advantages. Lame.
You need to watch a pro wrestling they even speak into microphones in there
You basically get points for stalling 😂
BRAZILIANS play for points. They will do anything to win, no matter how boring or shameful.
you have a point

That was almost as bad as watching two people in gis stuck in 50/50 for 10 minutes.
As soon as Kaynan got the two point advantage, he started chilling
Bodoni buscando a luta e kaynan amarrando como sempre
? Ele colocou pressão o tempo inteiro ate forçou meia guarda que e perto de um pass na minha opinião.

Giancarlo tried man. He may look back in retrospect and probably think he should've changed strategy midway but in all both guys did a good job.
no action because its all points based.
points don't make matches boring. lots of sub only fights are snooze fests as well

It's because of these matches while BJJ will never be Mainstream
It's a good thing Bodoni is just a junior member of New Wave as this loss might otherwise tarnish their reputation
the problem isn't ibjjf rules, all of the black belt gi matches on the card were awesome. the problem is some competitors just aren't exciting
I want my 11mins back in please!
Submission only, 20 min match. Thinking you won off a takedown is sad. Stalling the rest of the match.
nah. defend the takedown then. takedowns should be incentivized otherwise we'd see 240 lb men butt scooting all over the mat.
