    I bought this model for Christmas on some credit after looking at many video reviews of keyboards . Felt a bit guilty because I don’t like using credit and I only initially planned to spend a few hundred. But everyday I am more and more jubilant that I jumped into this model. The many sounds are truly great and professional quality and I know lesser priced models just don’t quite provide this level of quality. I hadn’t had a keyboard for years and it feels like this has opened up a whole new world. I play it everyday and it provides our family some renewed joy and fellowship which is priceless. Thanks for sharing your demo Phil. You are quite a musician and I enjoyed listening to you play.

      Hey Andrew, thanks so much for sharing your experience with the DGX 670! It's really heartening to hear that you're finding so much joy and value in it. Making a significant investment, especially when it involves credit, can indeed feel daunting, but it sounds like the DGX 670 is proving its worth every day. Music has this incredible ability to transform our daily lives, bringing not just personal joy but also enhancing family time, which is truly priceless. I'm thrilled to know that my demos played a part in reinforcing your decision and that you're enjoying the keyboard so much. Keep exploring all those sounds and features, and may your home be filled with music and happiness. 😊 Keep playing and enjoying every moment! - Phill

    I own one. It’s amazing! I was bummed the goblin sound wasn’t on it like my old Yamaha. Unless there is a secret library. I looked in the owners manual and it shows sounds that aren’t on this piano.

    Congratulations on the acquisition. I also have one of these, this piano is wonderful for the price it costs. Better than a simple P125, I like playing with back tracks that I produce on it myself. Here in Brazil it is a little expensive, it costs 7500 reais, the same as a PSR SX700. However, the DGX is not very successful here, it is considered a very heavy and bulky piano. They generally prefer a Yamaha PSR, the best-selling one is the SX600.

      Good day brother Diego! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the DGX-670, it's always great to hear different perspectives! I agree, it's a fantastic piano for the price point, especially compared to the P125. It's great that you're using it to play with your own backtracks too - that's definitely one of its strengths. I'm glad you're happy with your acquisition, and I encourage you to keep exploring the capabilities of your DGX-670. Who knows, maybe you'll inspire others to consider this underrated gem! How do you like the Latin beats? Fire eh?

    This thing costs $1200 in Canada. But yeah, I tested one and it is a very good value. The built in speakers are a bit bright sounding but you can output the signal to a better sound system or headphones.

    Phil are you able to change time signatures on patches 3/4, 7/8 etc ? Thank you for the videos.

    • @phillc
      @phillc  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Logan! Thank you.
      I'm away from the studio right now, but from a quick search, it seems possible.
      "Allegedly" 😊 the Yamaha DGX-670 allows you to change time signatures on individual patches, including patches 3/4 and 7/8. Here's how you can do it :
      1. Access the Style Creator.
      Press the [STYLE CREATOR] button on the control panel.
      2. Select the desired patch.
      Use the [+/-] buttons or the on-screen buttons to navigate to patches 3/4 or 7/8.
      3. Edit the time signature.
      Press the [F5] (TIME SIGNATURE) button.
      Use the on-screen buttons or the [+/-] buttons to select the desired time signature for the current patch.
      You can choose from a variety of common time signatures, including 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 7/8, and more.
      4. Save your changes.
      Press the [EXIT] button twice to return to the normal playing mode.
      Additional notes:
      You can change the time signature for individual sections of a style by using the [A:B] section markers and editing the time signature individually for each section.
      The DGX-670's time signature settings are global, meaning that the selected time signature will apply to all styles and performances unless you change it again.
      Let me know if that works.

    Sounds excellent for the money....typical Yamaha (quality sounds) - piano is amazing. I have the amazing Genos 1 (not upgraded to the 2.....a bit expensive for me unfortunately). Of course your expert playing helps sell the machine (I've seen some less than optimal demos of good gear ruined by poor playing ability)

    What can u say about using this piano for mostly playing classical? In terms of the keybed and fast playing

    • @phillc
      @phillc  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      🎹👍 It’s also good for classical playing, however I have played some other keyboards that have a better piano action. If you are used to piano action, that is a little bit heavier than some pianos, then this will be good for you. For me, I like heavy piano action, so for me, this is not a problem at all. But for those who are used to soft touch piano action, it could appear to be challenging. I would advise you to go in person to a store and check it out for yourself if possible.

    I dont know how much you know about pianos, I have William Wagner Melody and I noticed few of my keys are kinda sticking, i dont know how to fix it, i would really need some help

    • @phillc
      @phillc  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @veske299 - I understand your frustration with the sticking keys on your William Wagner Melody piano. While I'm not a piano technician myself, I can help you find some resources to get your problem fixed. I advise contacting the firm directly and ask if this is a known issue. They may know something and advise best: info@william-wagner.de and Tel: +49 180 2 3333. I reached out to Roland and KORG on different occasions and these Keyboard firms are usually quite empathetic and helpful to point you in the right direction to get your problem solved.
      Now if that yields little or nothing, Here are some steps you can take:
      1. Assess the Situation:
      Identify the affected keys: Which keys are sticking? Are they scattered across the keyboard, or clustered in a specific area?
      Nature of the sticking: Do the keys get stuck halfway down, all the way down, or only when released? Do they make any unusual sounds when pressed?
      Recent events: Has your piano been exposed to any extreme temperatures or humidity changes recently? Have you spilled anything on it?
      2. Try some quick fixes:
      Gentle tapping: Sometimes, gently tapping the stuck key from above or below can dislodge any debris or dust that might be causing the problem. Be careful not to apply too much force.
      Pencil lead trick: Rub a soft pencil lead on the sides of the sticking key. The graphite can act as a lubricant and help the key move more freely.
      3. Seek professional help:
      If the above suggestions don't work, or if the problem seems more serious, it's best to consult a qualified piano technician. They will be able to diagnose the problem properly and recommend the best course of action. Here are some ways to find a technician:
      Ask your local music store or piano teacher for recommendations.
      Search online for piano technicians in your area.
      Best Wishes friend!
