    Elizabeth Ann Hulette (November 19, 1960 - May 1, 2003), best known as Miss Elizabeth, was an American professional wrestling manager and valet. She gained fame during the 1980s and early 1980s in the World Wrestling Federation as the manager of "Macho Man" Randy Savage (her real-life husband). She later parlayed her WWF success with a stint in World Championship Wrestling during the mid-to-late 1990s.
    Although married to Savage, the true nature of their relationship was never mentioned on-air. The two were "married" on-air during an in-ring ceremony as part of the 1991 SummerSlam event. The marriage angle ended in 1992, coinciding with their real-life divorce and Hulette's subsequent departure.
    During her run in the WWF, her most famous angles involved George "the Animal" Steele, The Honky Tonk Man, Jake "the Snake" Roberts and Ric Flair. She was also a key player in Savage's 1989 feud with Hulk Hogan.
    She died May 1, 2003, as a result of a drug and alcohol overdose in 2003 at the age of 42 in the home she shared with Lex Luger.
    On May 1, 2003, in Marietta, Georgia, Luger called 9-1-1 to report that Hulette was not breathing.[18] She did not respond to mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and paramedics rushed her to the WellStar Kennestone Hospital Emergency Room, where she was pronounced dead at the age of 42. A medical examiner listed the cause of death as "acute toxicity", brought on by a mix of painkillers and vodka. Her death was ruled an accident. Hulette was buried at Frankfort Cemetery.

      Yes, it is actually a very serious business. Of course it is scripted, it has to be. They couldn't really beat each other up, and travel 300+ days. They are highly trained athletes, actors, stuntmen, know how to react on the spot on live TV...and so much more. Thank YOU for getting that, and knowing that wrestling isn't "fake!"

    Even after all these years, this is still such a sad story. When i read her autopsy report years ago, she still had healing bruises around her eyes. Breaks my heart.

    She was such a beautiful classy lady. My husband and I were so upset when she passed. We both have watched wrestling for yrs. He has since he was a kid and when we started dating, he got me watching it too. Addiction is such a horrible disease and it doesn't matter what you look like, how much money you have. Crime in Sports did a Lex Luger episode and covered the deep dive details of her death. Lex treated Elizabeth like crap, and he assumed she had fallen asleep and only much later on did he figure out there was a problem. I know it takes two to tango, but she deserved much better than what happened to her. RIP..

      Sadly, Randy tried to protect her but unfortunately backfired due to his mistreat of her, even though he never physically abused her.

    • @LadyDragonsblood
      @LadyDragonsblood 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@adriana4331 You are right. Randy was not physically abusive at all, mentally perhaps. He was so jealous and over protective of Liz, that he, kept her locked in a gilded cage, so to speak. She got tired of it, and I can't blame her. He loved her deeply, but sometimes, that love can be smothering. It was a tragic love story.

    • @terryrocks2j
      @terryrocks2j ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Luger deeply regrets what happened to her. Today he still talks about how if he could take all these things back he would. He is really remorseful. It's sad what happened to Elizabeth but it's sad when he always keeps bringing her up because it still eats him up as of today. Sad but just sad all around.

    Thankyou so much for kindness when you speak of the famous people that we have lost. I appreciate you showing us their resting places that most of us would never get to see otherwise. It really captures my heart how you recall the situations of why they left us without finger pointing and being judgemental. They way Elvis was treated after his passing has ALWAYS upset me because the very ones he helped financially and otherwise were the very ones that wrote books and jumped at every chance to do an interview. Maybe because I live in Mississippi and we tend to defend our famous that we've lost. Thankyou again for your sweet and kind words for all that have left us to soon.

      Hey Scott. I'm here still. Just being more quiet lately or for awhile. Spending time in the hospital and doctors appointments since the summer. Got the answer or part of it, that it's my liver. It's good to know that, but also not good. Just doing what I have to do to try and get better. Wish I was more extroverted...but things like this just get me down and even more quiet than I usually am, if that's possible!!

    Miss Elizabeth was definitely one of the first women in wrestling that I can recall, even though she didn't actually wrestle. Wendy Richter was my first wrestling "crush", and I liked Sherri Martel a bit more than Miss Elizabeth during that time, but there's no doubt she was a huge presence in the late 80s WWF scene. Also later she played a big role in WCW with Randy joining the NWO.

    She was so beautiful to me as a child I always thought wow how pretty is she- I don’t judge her for her “demons” ( for lack of better terminology) I’m sober- and damn proud! I actually have compassion and empathy for wrestlers that get caught up in that ya know they are in pain, they put their bodies through heck and boom they get hooked
    I’m just so sorry she was taken so young🥺
    Just bc she had an issue doesn’t mean she was a bad person- I had a problem but I’m a great gal I only hurt myself unfortunately

      TH-cam is a great tool. Obviously it was Flair down south and Hogan up north. So many in the NWA who cared about the business. You mentioned folks died young. It's a fact. You missed out on people like Terry Gordy. Big guy who could move and had skills. He died at 40. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes and The Road Warriors were the best. There were so many others. Magnum TA. Car crash ended his career. He's alive. The Von Erichs are gone. David was the first star. He had everything. He died first. So sad

    This is brilliant Scott. You recently did Macho man's video and now this. She died so young.
    If you remember on your live stream I mentioned ultimate warrior. I meant the actual location where he collapsed and died but your right, he was cremated but if you can find the location where he collapsed and died would be awesome. I'm sure people have left tributes there.
    Keep up the amazing work as always. Its interesting how you mentioned you seen a few graves with "hulets" Elizabeth's surname as not many have mentioned this.

    I should have known! Once again, so respectful, and I don't mean only to dear, Miss Elizabeth, but to the wrestling business. There are some of us that take it seriously, and understand it. I also worked in the business for a while on a local level, and I learned a lot about wrestling.

    Scott me and my family love your videos. Almost dropped the phone when we seen you was driving by our road before going to her grave figured that was shot after you left her grave because that's Monterey in Owen County on on Highway 127 that's North and Frankfort is South. We been to her grave several times it's so peaceful and keep up the good work. From Robert and Jennifer

    Second comment from me. I had no idea that Miss Elizabeth was 11-12 years older than me (My birthday day and year is October 7, 1973). I can’t get over the fact that she died young. Not to be an emotional cry baby, but I hope Miss Elizabeth continues to be at peace, and found the happiness with Our Lord. RIP to that beautiful 1980’s queen/First Lady of Wrestling 😪🙏

    Aww Ms.Elizabeth the first lady of the WWF so sad she's gone and what a shame she's not in the WWE Hall of Fame she should of been inducted a long time ago i was also in Attendance for her Macho Mans Wedding in Madison Square Garden at SummerSlam 1991 it was called The Match Made in Heaven I was 6 yrs old remember it like it was yesterday RIP Ms.Elizabeth Gone too soon damn u Lex Luger Scott stay safe Bro 👍

      I agree, she DESERVES To be in the WWE Hall of Fame. Backstage, "political" reasons are why she has not yet been inducted. I hope, that one day in the future, that will change.
