A bit of a random opinion piece on the film camera customization scene as well as some random anecdotes that have very little to do with cameras. Also PT Cruiser talk.
I have never understood why a person uses a camera without some form of strap. Surely it's provided to prevent accidental dropping. Watching many channels and seeing them wave their cameras around horrifies me.
Gorgeous leather wrap - seriously gorgeous. Re: the lovely brown leather clad ME SE (I have one) does yours have the 45 degree split focusing screen? which I "adore"
That Spotmatic looks fantastic. I kind of want one now. I've been thinking about this for my MX that I've used for 30 years as a tribute to the special place it has in my heart. And also for my 67 which is has a banged up prism housing and is missing a big chunk of leatherette.
I added custom brown leather to my olympus om-1 (thinking I'd keep it forever). When I decided to upgrade to om-2 I didn't have much issue selling, which is what I was worried about. I'm wanting to get brown leather for my om2 and bronica sq-a to make a matching pair. I think it's gonna look pretty slick and the bronica was sold as a special edition with brown leather, so it's not totally crazy.
I’m curious.. have you worked on any 16mm cinema cameras? For that matter, any C mount lenses or regular 8mm or super 8mm cameras? Thanks for your thoughts!
I have a focus screen question, mine popped out and lost it. Did Pentax make interchangeable focus screens? I have a couple nonfunctional Pentax but not sportmatic
Awesome choice of color! Love the idea of customization, actually customizing an old camera while watching this. 🎉

I’ve had my SP 1000 since 1973. Had it serviced this year and it works like new. Made a custom wooden grip. I’ll never part with it.

Do you do it yourself for the custom brown leather? I do own a Bronicq SQ and thinking that would be cool to have it done
@@FramesbyLloyd no I'm going to get skins from Hugo Studio. It would look terrible if I did it myself.
Silver bodies with brown leatherette are ALWAYS more appropriate. They pop.
Watched your videos received the spotmatic bug. Just picked up a SP ii with a 55mm super tac
Welcome to the Party Pal!
You finally got yourself a nice hot stick! Very nice soldering tool choice. And another reminder, check your email :)

That's the first replacement leather/leatherette I've ever seen that doesn't look hideous. In fact, it looks quite classy!
Put me squarely in the hippie strap camp. Where else am I going to attach those cool ceramic buttons?

I recently ordered myself a spotmatic sp! I love these older cameras and I am really excited to have one up and running.
The deep red leather on your Spotmatic looks great!
Agreed - that's a really nice looking SLR. Bella macchina
