Which is a rather lazy form of criticism!! Basically insulting!! You really need to find constructive arguments, Rika has a graceful and subtle style. She is possibly shy, however I don't think that's a bad thing. There is a beautiful quality ,some people prefer subtleness than in your face OTT facial expressions that add absolutely nothing! Being sassy isn't necessarily a good thing. It's not reflective of Rika. There is a fine balance between bringing someone out of their shell and not creating an over dramatic expression. I hope she doesn't end up with poor music and choreography choices. However I do think it will be a great chance to train along side Yuzuru and I wish her every success. She is a determined young lady, like Trusova both want to keep learning progressing and are not afraid to take opportunities to move forward. Hope it works out for them both. Different but both extremely talented skaters.
3 months ago when the world was shutting down, I spent a Sunday falling down the rabbit hole of skating videos on YT, which led me to TSL. Since then, TSL has been my escape. As a life-long skating fan - I was 9 during the Lake Placid games and that's when I fell in love with the sport - it's been a thrill to watch competitions and performances from decades ago. Then there's all the skating dish and drama that I get to hear every Sunday with This and That or in the chatroom during a video premiere. Like the real dish on Gracie Gold you shared last night in contrast to the sanitized mass media versions of the story. Thanks for all of it.

I do not understand Tara's logic. She can barely educate us viewers about jumps, let alone the scoring system. I hope someone else does commentary and analysis next time. She and Johnny are by-gone has-beens with no actual value to modern viewers.

I have to get sappy and say what broke my heart about this Yagudin thing is all the oppressed gay figure skating fans in Russia can’t even count on the figure skating community there to even modestly lend support to the gay fans they know they have.
It was a pleasant surprise to see the news of Rika Kihira going to Brian Orser for quads and more finishing. She has all the basics, so I can totally see her winning Beijing with the help of TCC (and if she's still with Hamada, why not?).
I'm glad his channel is growing and l like keeping up with his video diaries of returning to training during cv19. I hope he gets a chance to defend his national title this coming season.
@@skatingcanuck9837 of course, but plushenko and skaters back then didn't need such an excessive technical content. plushenko or yagudin wouldn't be competitive nowadays with their two 4T in the free skate
Yagudin is cancelled. I nominate Adam Rippon and Ashley Wagner for NBC commentators. I think they'd do a much better job than Tara and Johnny seeing as how they competed under IJS and actually understand the system. T&J still call it "this new scoring system" despite the fact it's been around for 15 years. Plus, Ashley and Adam are very honest and open. Adam won't sit there and pretend like he had quads and Ashley will tell you her lutz edge was on a prayer. I feel like both are way more knowledgeable about the sport and would bring much needed constructive insightful commentary to the sport. I like the move to Orser for Rika. I actually thought Rika's programs were strong last season--though the costumes were kinda gross. She's always completely covered and the outfits are too busy. Less is more. Someone send her to Satoko's designer please... I hope Orser can bring Rika out of her shell. She's too introverted when she skates. That SP from last season was so energetic and different but she failed to sell it. Give that same program to Satoko or even Wakaba and I bet they'd rock the hell out of it. Rika needs to bring that energy and connection. If she can do that plus add quads to her 3As (which are basically money at this point), I think she'd give the Russians a real run for their money.
Could we not have Ashley? Johnny/Tara is already impossible to watch because of pointless content and snarky remarks about skaters. I’m waiting for Ashley to finally disappear.
@@Xosidhe If you've ever listened to Ashley's commentary she's actually pretty good. She's not snarky about skaters; she's honest in a constructive way. Can't say the same for Tara or Johnny who are both out of touch with competing--Tara's last competition was like 20 years ago and Johnny's was like 8 years ago. Having two commentators who are fresh off of the competitive scene and have competed against many of the skaters in the field today would be much more insightful than what we have now.
In addition to working at Kansai University, Mie Hamada is now running a new club (Kinoshita Academy), but she’s listed as the General Manager, not Head Coach (which is Tamura). It seems like she’s maybe transitioning to an overseer role rather than doing the hands on coaching.
@@sk8jdgca unfortunately I think that only applies if she had her student visa approved before March. I don't know if there are exemptions for athletes (they might since the NHL is slow opening training now and they have international players). I hope that's the case.
Also regarding openly gay people in Russia: there aren't many but there's Anton Krasovsky who does important work regarding hiv and aids, Karen Shainyan as well. And while their lives are not easy, they are able to exist as openly gay people in Russia. And Alexey Yagudin being much richer and much more famous than them being so openly hateful and homophobic is frankly disgusting.
There is enough hate and suffering in the world, and too much losses. Can we just be kind and support each other. We are in 21st century now, if you don’t understand something, there is lots of information that you can search for and learn.
I agree with you guys on so many points here. Yagudin was definitely a way better skater than Plushenko (mr. platinum medal) back in the day. However, since then, yagudin has shown himself to be a terrible human being while plushenko stays on brand as an ego maniac who knows nothing about actual skating skills. Don’t love either of them, but plushenko is much more tolerable and he married a fascinating person that delivers the skating drama we need in fantastic Russian style. Never thought I would see the day I would prefer plushenko to yagudin but when he says the kinds of things he’s been saying, he makes it easy. And Tara and Johnny, liked them as skaters, was mildly amused when they first started as commentators, but it’s been time to move on for a couple years now. Adam actually does sound like he might be really good at it. Let him have a chance, NBC. Also, agree that rika made a smart move here although it’s strange the way these former hamada girls change coaches. Just add a new coach to the team and phase the old one out lol. Whatever makes them feel better or is deemed culturally appropriate I suppose. This will hopefully help her artistically and to get those quads.
Tara is outdated for me. I would LOVE to see Adam & Mirai Nagasu as TV ice hosts. That would be way WAY more entertaining. Plus it would attract a new and younger audience as well.
Tara and Johnny are way past their prime. NBC needs to get someone who can do analysis and commentary. I wouldn't mind if Adam, Ashley Wagner or Mirai Nagasu take their places, though Tanith White does a good job. As for Rika going to Brian Orser in July...hmm. A good call, as she has everything already, just needs that consistency and finishing touch that was given to Yuna, Javier and Yuzuru. However, who knows if Canada is going to open the borders and allow for their restrictions to be eased? I'm all for Rika going for that Olympic gold medal.
U're wrong about Plushy ,the first skater who landed 4-3-3-combo ;skater who was 4 times at Olympics podium .How do you know that Plushenko isego maniac ???? Have you met him in person !? Little respect for him ,please!!!!!
Tara Lipinsky is named after Tara from Gone With the Wind, another big popular emblem of romanticised slavery. Not exactly her fault but flutzing as a skater yes. She also praised Sotnikova's flutz as being "one of the best in the industry". Talk about lack of integrity as a commentator.
You guys look fabulous! Date dropping: I saw Yagudin and Plushenko in Minneapolis in 1998. It was thrilling to see these young guys! I will always love Yagudin's skating and will just endeavor to set aside his fears and opinions. Keep up the good work you too, I love TSL.
I don’t think it’s complicated at all. If you are XX you compete with/against women if you are XY you compete with/against men. The sexes are segregated in sports for a reason let’s not forget that. And that reason is equality it’s self. As a female athlete myself. If I had to compete against a male, that makes me not have equal rights. That’s the opposite of equality and isn’t equality what we want ? ?? (my perspective on JK Rowing.) She’s mentioned that she cares for Trans people and doesn’t hate them. She seems to just not like it when trans-women say they are female/ a woman. So it seems that she’s just trying to make a point on “I am a woman” and you are a “trans-woman” we are different and we will always will be. And that’s okay. We are not the same so stop acting like it because it’s hurtful for someone to just say “I am a female” but you don’t know what it’s like to be one and you never will. That’s a fact, and people won’t accept it and then they go call anyone who says it transphobic. But they’re not. I will never know what’s it’s like to be a trans-women. And you will never know what it’s like to be a female. So stop pretending we are the same. That’s just reality. (This being my own opinion as well) I found JK Rowing to have the same she just didn’t explain it the way she should have.
I'm a biological scientist. It's not as simple as XX XY (though I understand you are referring to biological males and biological females). No sex and gender are not the same thing, but the existence of trans people does NOT invalidate cis people (which is what JKR was implying). Also what you're saying about being female.... I'm sorry but you're saying that womanhood is all about what you have between your legs, which is in itself highly misogynistic!
Helena Prout I have a very limited knowledge of biology and I would appreciate if you explained a bit about determination of biological sex. I was taught that XX and XY is a norm, while 45X, 47XX etc. are genetic disorders hence rare medical conditions. It’s not the first time I see someone saying having XX/XY chromosomes doesn’t equal being of a certain biological sex and I’m confused.
@@ЕвгенияСемёнова-м6н i think this might end up being an essay, sorry in advance. Xx and XY is just an oversimplification that we are taught in school. Kinda like how we're also taught that an atom has the nucleus in the middle and electrons orbiting it in nice neat little circles. Schools do this to make things simpler but they neglect to say that these simplifications arent always accurate. Most biological women do have XX chromosomes. But there are many with fully functioning female reproductive organs that have XY. I cant be bothered to find articles but if you search up studies on gender, sex and chromosomes you'll see that it isnt all about what chromosomes you've got because it's the expression of DNA on the chromosomes that brings about traits. This is sort of like how a brown eyed person with one blue eyed parent has a gene for blue eyes, but it is not expressed. Similar idea for sex (again I have simplified this because genetics is quite complex). I think the most important thing is that yes, biological males inherently have a higher muscle percentage than women etc, but the existence of trans women does not invalidate cis women just because they have different organs (and vice versa with men). In the case of sports it's a difficult one because biological men have different attributes to biological women, but that doesnt mean we should disrespect or invalidate non- cisgender people. I cant remember her name but there was a biologically female athlete who had to take testosterone repressing drugs because she naturally has extremely high testosterone levels, despite being born female and never doping. Things like this are rare but they do happen- this is because sex isnt one or the other. Yes most people fall into either the male or female category, but biology isnt nice and neat and easy. Its bloody complicated- this applies to sex as well! On another note, women who took part in the suffragette movement were campaigning for women's rights because having a uterus etc doesnt make us lesser than men in any way. They also wanted to show that women are not simply baby-makers and that we are human beings that should be treated the same as men. Now my problem with JKR is that she has said highly offensive things about trans people and she has supported anti-trans activists. She clearly is a TERF (trans exclusionary radical feminist) which is an ideology that is actually rooted in misogyny. (If you didnt know, TERFS think that you're only a woman if you're a biological woman, which is 1) factually incorrect as shown by many gender studies, 2) saying that infertile/intersex women arent women and 3) reducing all women down to their reproductive organs. This is why JKRs ideology is so f**ked up. Sorry for the essay, hope this makes sense.
www.who.int/genomics/gender/en/index1.html This is an article from the World Health Organisation. It does have a lot of complex terms in it, but hopefully it will explain these concepts better than I can.
Helena Prout 1. So you understand what I was saying was referring to basic biological, so you should have left it at that. 2. Never said womanhood depends on what you have between your legs. Just that there’s a difference between being a woman and being a trans-woman. That’s not misogynistic.
Glad you asked about the roommate! I finally found Jonathan's House Hunters episode. I knew which house he bought due to the brick wall in his T&T videos. :-P It must be freeing to move on when you know a relationship isn't working!

@@cmh1324 I feel you. It's like Harvey Dent said, "you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain". Some people debate, would Gagarin (an overall nice guy) become a villain if he had lived to see the day. Cause Valentina Tereshkova is advocating for Putin's eternal rule now. Quite a distant example, I know, but I think relatable. Just like Alexey Nemov was a nice guy 20 years ago and compromised himself a few years back. I felt the same way about Yagudin. From being a perfect model figure to a disgrace. It's like something happens to their brains the older they get, that they start spewing nonsense and do disgraceful things.
I remember reading that line about the layback being a subservient position in Culture on Ice and side-eyeing it tremendously. Every now and then, the line comes back to me and it grates like a pebble in the shoe.
I don't believe that was an assertion of the book or he author; in fact, I can't even recall now whether that was the book, or whether it was a different one. I seem to recall his theory being promulgated by a particular feminist. Which I thought was unfortunate, because I consider myself a feminist but I thought that was silly. I also think there are some great make laybacks out there; I wish there were more. It definitely is a "gendered" spin; I wish it weren't.
Hehe... Dave, you should be an investigative journalist. You pumped Jonathan for all his personal deets within the first two minutes of the broadcast. Amazing. :)

@@JackAShepherd Dave posted it in the comments on a TSL post on facebook. I believe it's the post where he speculates that Tanith and Adam will be taking over for Tara and Johnny
Being homophobic in figure skating is such a contradiction to me. Like why? Alexei Yagudin really told on himself. Hearing the tea on him this week has truly been something...😬 yikes.
It is one of the great contradictions. Non skaters would always verbalize to me their assumptions that every male skater was gay. I explained the irony of descrimination against openly gay male skaters. Rudy Galindo was a great example of a skater that was undermarked due to this. I remember when Brian Orser was outed in an article and he feared for his career. In conclusion I think homophobia comes from the personal or cultural circumstances/ upbringing of a person.
Because ISU was established by conservative Europeans 120+years ago and for many decades it was the sport of entertainment, pretty ladies and manly men. It was the sport of white people, too so there is also the racial question. There are still many prejudices against Asians or black skaters too. And of course if a skater is gay. If someone is out, judges don't like that. Many judge still think this conservative way, as many fans (mostly in Europe and USA) too. Ladies skating has been more popular than men's skating for that reason.
Yet another great TSL: London UK so this was morning coffee. I normally just post a sincere"thank you" but today, I feel compelled to write something longer. JKR: her snide remarks were directed at the phrase "people who menstruate"; her comment: "didn't we have a word for that? Womben etc." was either willfully ignorant or deliberately insulting. Of course, not all people who menstruate identify as female. Her further (4,000 word?) follow up "justification" disclosed she'd been the subject of domestic violence, physical, emotional and psychological abuse in her first marriage. The domestic abuse is horrific. However, I'm not sure how this translates into her views on trans issues. To link abuse with trans issues in this manner, is abhorrent. She's not "just" a children's writer (she's written adult literature), she's not even "just" a writer (like saying Oprah is "just" a talk show host/TV personality). She knows her platform, her powerful voice. It is sad to see people one admires (admired) espousing very abusive and phobic rhetorical tropes. Alexei Yagudin and Scott Hamilton. I remember Hamilton's world and Olympic medals, (I was 11 in '84) showmanship, speed-skater costumes, lack of height and "look" were commented on. There was awareness around John Curry's orientation ('76 Olympic Gold), speculation around Robin Cousins ('80 Olympic Gold) , Brian Orser, Rob McCall (Tracy Wilson's ice dance partner) etc. Hamilton clearly wanted distance between "them" and "him". Shocking even for the 1980s. As for Yagudin (a once great skater), reported drunkenness, lunging at women, racist remarks and homophobia. All symptoms of a much deeper problem? But we are 2020. Racism, "plantation weddings", transphobia, homophobia: "how are they all still a "thing""? Yet here we are. For me, it is shocking, yet sadly unsurprising. Yagudin, Natalia Bestemianova, Kostamarov - all these comments make me wonder whether Papadakis/Cizeron will actually be "allowed" to win Gold in '22? Weir, Rippon and Cizeron are brave where just being oneself ought not even ever have to be considered brave. Peace, love, hold an edge, look sexy and.... *never* have a "plantation wedding".
JK Rowling is completely correct. Her comment was not 'Anti-Trans' at all. You are making it so when even Transgender women did not find it offensive. You don't seem to know how the entire thing started yet you're jumping on the cancel culture leftist train.
As a woman I feel offended when commercials refer to me as “person that menstruates” what the hell?! It’s rude to customers. It’s like if toilet paper brand would call us “people that shit”
Yagudin made too much questionable comments for the last year not only in social media but also on TV. Our government supports such statements and i don't think that it will affect his career in Russia.
He also made disgusting and disrespectful comments about the church and about religion in general. He is vehemently godless, and I, being christian, feel that he shows a lot of disrespect with his vile comments against christian religion. And our government don't support these ideas about religion.
Policing speech ain't the way to go though. Just as easily someone who subscribes to neo-nazism can say that attacking neo-nazism is disrespectful to them. Who decides what ideology is ok and which is not? Imo it should be the court of public opinion therefore everyone should be able to say whatever the fuck they want.
Gotta give TSL credit for reading between the lines and recognizing that Rika's announcement was essentially a very polite "Japanese" way of just saying that she is changing coaches, period...
Skaters in Russia mostly stay uneducated. They work hard as teenagers and it often happens that they never become adults. No need to interpret Yagudin nonsenses - he is just 13 year old kid who got into booze. Pluschenko is the same way, but he has his mummy Rudkovskaya to guide him with most sensitive issues.
Adam is from the UK and is currently living in Vegas, he was in the Hot Ice show in Blackpool and was a finalist in Britain's got talent! ( He also is a really nice guy!)
It has been interesting listerning to you perspective on the Yagudin situation I competed internationally in the 80's and although we knew unofficially who was gay it wasn't talked about openly and there was a definite homophobic attitude in the locker room! I was advised by my coach who ironically was also gay that it would be better if my boyfriend didn't come to watch me skate in the Olympics as the association wouldn't like it! (But my coaches boyfriend came and watched) I felt it was hard to stay in the closet but did until I quit competing the only other skater I could confide in was Robin Cousins who was very supportive. Love your show and your views on the world of skating! X
Can't agree with comments on Rika's last 2 programs. The choice of musics and the choreography were so sharp and avant-garde! I think Tom Dickson helps her create a revolutionary androgynous image in the lady's field just like what Nathen did in the male's with his new-cool-and-free-style. Rika is one of the few top female skaters out there that really has a sense of dance, who can employ all her body to implement the designs of dance movements rather than just doing pretty poses or keeping the arm lines look elegant. Though it is true that she needs to polish that and her acting skills( facial expressions, emotions), but even without, she already way surpasses the others.
When I saw the news that Rika would be working with Brian, it said she was “adding him to her team”, which I thought meant she would consult with him now and then - not that she would be training at TCC. I’m so confused. lol
I've always been and I'll always be a Yagudin fan of his competitive career. No matter how many times Winter has been performed, even awfully performed in shows, it's my favorite skating program ever done, the main example that this sport can produce pieces of art and that skating judging is all bs: Itwas the sp at 2002 Olympics the one that deserved all the the 6s in the panel. That said, every time that I've heard him comment on anything, it was clear for me that he is not the brightest person and that the world won´t miss anything if he never talks again in public, about anything, including skating. He has just proved that again in a very disgusting way. It's great what Adam did and it's ok to point at Yagudin and make it clear that the skating community (or at least the most loud part of it) doesn´t tolerate homophobia. On the other hand, I find speculations about his reasons for those awful comments out of place, whatever the reason, it's his problem.
I feel like Canada has said they allow 5 elite/competitive athletes on the ice at a time, the Colorado rink seems like they cap it at 10 and allow developmental skaters, but here in California it's more like 20 and that feels like too many skaters for me to be comfortable.
Good movement of japanese federation and Kihira, with Hamada and Orser, Kihira will improved more in her skating. Kihira with Hamada is a good skater, she has good TES (3A and quads). But with Orser Kihira will improved in PCS (transitions, steps, skills in skating). In Olimpic games 2022 Kihira will be a stronger rival for gold medal or podium.
@@evanperilstein5308 LOL. This is some ridiculous apologist. The entire Civil Rights movement happened since. If people want to use the film as inspiration then they can handle the backlash. This entire love story business is beside the point. Tara thrived on the backs of slaves. There would be no romantic story if it wasnt for them.
There is a reason J.K. Rowling has been canceled by her own fandom, so many love the work and hate the creator I am excited that Kihira is moving to Orser, I hope she does well next season and has programs that work well for her style, she seems very dedicated and motivated so I think the move will be good for her
Rika is such an underrated skater, if she was russian she would get 15 more points for whatever she is doing right now. I hope she can mimic "western" expression better, as this seems to be the only acceptable expression for white folks.
OK, I never really thought much about it before, but Tara did have a plantation wedding. And her husband (who graduated from my high school) didn't seem to have any objection to the idea. Of course, I doubt most guys give much of a thought to the theme of their weddings. But maybe they should. In all honesty that's probably not surprising--the town I grew up in is small and white and pretty racist, so... If TSL says they're doing a "TH-cam-friendly" version of their Brian/Brian judging, it's probably because they're afraid of me, LOL. Because if they give me any of that "It shouldn't have been that close" crap, as Tootie used to say in "The Facts of Life," they're gonna be in troubleeeeee… OK, so the line about Barbara Roles's '80s glasses having their own Instagram is killing me.
Honestly PLEASE watch Adam Rippon's clapback video, it is everything. Yags is a disgrace to figure skating and Tarasova would be wise to cut the babysitting act.

OMG. Glad I'm not the only one who didn't understand what JKR was saying. It was like trying to muddle through the last HP book. I actually had to watch a trans person's video explaining TERF, etc.
I also needed clarification. I still don't get it. There are such enormously pressing issues in the world right now, WTF is JKR's problem and WTF is everyone's problem who is spending the time battling this? Exhausting.
JKR was pointing out the sexism (and homophobia) in some trans activism. That people would call that transphobic indicates they don't truly support women's or gay rights.
My Arts minor was in Women and Gender studies (as it was called decades ago) and I had the same confusion as you did Dave about the language JKR used. But what you learned re the meaning and language of sex and gender was the same as me. Thanks for another interesting episode
My best friend (who is gay) lived in Moscow for a year (several years back). I asked him about the homophobia-and he said he slept w a number of straight men, they don’t necessarily disapprove of the sex act, it’s more the gay lifestyle they look down upon as lesser. Still think Yagudin is a closet case.
I wish I could be true about Alexei, walking away from him might do which is not solved the problem instead of slapping his pretty face knowing my teenage years are about to be in ruins of the truth.
Oh Yagudin... he's become so weird with time. And certainly the atmosphere in Russia doesn't help. You know we're getting our constitution changed on the 1st of July, and there'll be a mention of marriage as only the union of a man and a woman? And there's been a disgusting yet hilarious propaganda video about gays... And Yagudin is politically very mainstream I believe, as most figure skaters. Pluschenko publicly supported those constitution changes as well. There's a lot and none of it is pleasant.
Sorry, what means plantation wedding? I searched in google and is something related to slaves. But I really don't understand. Im not american. Sorry for my english and ignorance.
Plantations were large complexes, usually with a main residence and sprawling fields, farms etc...they ran and were kept up by slave labor. It was common for the slaves to be abused, raped, and even murdered at these places. A lot of these plantations are open as museums now and can be rented out for private events. Tara Lipinski had her wedding at one. It’s pretty disrespectful and stupid to have a wedding at a place where such horrible things happened. It would be like having a wedding at Auschwitz.

My only problem is Brian Orser might make her learn the basics of skating skills like what he did to Hanyu, delaying his quad acquisition

@@skatingcanuck9837 of course, but plushenko and skaters back then didn't need such an excessive technical content. plushenko or yagudin wouldn't be competitive nowadays with their two 4T in the free skate

Stevie Darling is she snarky or is she real?
@@Xosidhe If you've ever listened to Ashley's commentary she's actually pretty good. She's not snarky about skaters; she's honest in a constructive way. Can't say the same for Tara or Johnny who are both out of touch with competing--Tara's last competition was like 20 years ago and Johnny's was like 8 years ago. Having two commentators who are fresh off of the competitive scene and have competed against many of the skaters in the field today would be much more insightful than what we have now.
Anyone but Tara
I actually would prefer Tanith and Charlie/Ben.
In addition to working at Kansai University, Mie Hamada is now running a new club (Kinoshita Academy), but she’s listed as the General Manager, not Head Coach (which is Tamura). It seems like she’s maybe transitioning to an overseer role rather than doing the hands on coaching.
Rika is really optimistic that we are going to be opening up the border by July
Which border? You mean the Canadian/ American border? It doesn't seem like Canadian's want it opened up for a while.
I think they mean the Canadian/Japanese border
Travel between Canada/Japan is a lot likelier to open than the Canada/US border.

He is champion so he is rich. You can’t get money only for being nice person
You are simply ignorant about Plushenko, dude. Plus Yagudin wasn't better any aspect. Maybe Tarasova made for him better choreograpy.
@UThink UCan , Plushenko became the FIRST skater to perform 4T-3T-2L combination IN COMPETITION ( it was at NHK Trophy, in 1999. )- it's a fact !

(my perspective on JK Rowing.)
She’s mentioned that she cares for Trans people and doesn’t hate them.
Sorry for the essay, hope this makes sense.
www.who.int/genomics/gender/en/index1.html
This is an article from the World Health Organisation.

@@skatingcanuck9837 Yeah its such a shame. Coming out or staying in the closet can both be detrimental to a man's career.
When I saw Patrick’s tweet, I ran around saying “Oh Snap” to absolutely no one but my own self.

Happy to be listening to you both again... missed you.💕
When I saw the news that Rika would be working with Brian, it said she was “adding him to her team”, which I thought meant she would consult with him now and then - not that she would be training at TCC.
Ontario has added that star 5 to gold can start skating also. And they upped the max amount of skaters to 8 on the ice.

I did love Rika’s ‘Oogway Ascending’ short program!!! But yes her 2019-2020 programs were so not working and the LP dress was weird >.
If a woman's professional skating career is going to be over after she has completed puberty (say age 18 for a professional athlete), then perhaps the term 'women's' needs to replaced with the word female or something else more accurate.
I was just thinking about tsl ❤
Edit: im so glad you are talking about these things
Lin Amory ❤️❤️❤️
Also Tatiana Navka calling BLM protests "mass hysteria" because HBO removed Gone With the Wind was cringe, these people live in a different world
M MG who knew that movie even impacted her.
it was a cringe, though
1. This video greatly improved my morning
2. Where can I find Patrick's "You had a plantation wedding" clapback?
3. Hilaria (+Alec) are my neighbors! They are very nice, their kids are really sweet, and the paparazzi stalking them adds a funny excitement to the whole thing 🤣 YogaVida is the best, according to my mom, and it's not expensive (or my mom wouldn't go there LOL)

Was waiting all week for this!
Hope you enjoy it!
Yagudin is a classic case of self-loathing. Shameful
Sorry for my English, but...One day you will learn how to make time codes and paste them into your video description, but apparently not this time.
Great wall colour Jonothan
Yesterday was my birthday and I've got the best B-day present ever 😆 TSL you guys are the best 👍👌
Dave, I finally took your advice and watched Cheer. I loved it and binged watched in two days! I’m wondering if Jonathan has seen it yet???
Glad you enjoyed it!
David, you'd make an excellent sports psychologist or therapist in general.
Elizabeth Lockhart thank you!
LOL I do nottt agree... Maybe Jonathan, but Dave is too mean
Yes, JackAShepherd, Jonathan would be good too.
I was wondering when this post would come to address all that drama.
Do you have any news on Julia Lipnitskya’s pregnancy and how it was announced?
My Arts minor was in Women and Gender studies (as it was called decades ago) and I had the same confusion as you did Dave about the language JKR used. But what you learned re the meaning and language of sex and gender was the same as me. Thanks for another interesting episode
You are so welcome!
Love my spiky mat!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
How does Evgenia feel about Rika being at the same rink?
I'm curious too
Go skate Dave, listen to your heart. Would love to see you film your progress, like Roman, but you probably already have to much on your plate 🤗
Noted!
Freud calls it reaction formation
Yay!!
😍 YAS
My best friend (who is gay) lived in Moscow for a year (several years back). I asked him about the homophobia-and he said he slept w a number of straight men, they don’t necessarily disapprove of the sex act, it’s more the gay lifestyle they look down upon as lesser. Still think Yagudin is a closet case.
@@evanperilstein5308 I don't disagree, but these were those married men who are most certainly not "gay" ;)
Yagudin didn’t speak about same sex love at all. He hates people who call women “menstruators”, that’s what this whole situation was about.
I am 100% here for #plantationwedding and #homophobictrolls
Patron is the place to be!!
Sorry I'm so ignorant but I have no idea what a "plantation wedding" is or what it means? Could someone please enlighten me 🤣
@@evanperilstein5308oh daaaaaaaaaaammnnnn
As a Brit I often dont get a lot of these references but even I can tell that's just......no
@@evanperilstein5308 yeah absolutely! A lot of people live very sheltered lives so to speak...
@@helenaprout1061 Have you heard about Triangular trade? It's very British thing to learn about and linked with plantation. Enjoy!
Think about having a wedding at a place where people were demeaned, degraded and sometimes killed through rape, torture, abuse, overwork, etc.
I wish I could be true about Alexei, walking away from him might do which is not solved the problem instead of slapping his pretty face knowing my teenage years are about to be in ruins of the truth.
before offering any judgment, hear her out www.jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-rowling-writes-about-her-reasons-for-speaking-out-on-sex-and-gender-issues/
Oh common Dave, be a bad boy, go skating!!! Sure beats doing drugs or drunken driving...
Love love love
Helena Prout ❤️❤️
Oh Yagudin... he's become so weird with time.
And certainly the atmosphere in Russia doesn't help. You know we're getting our constitution changed on the 1st of July, and there'll be a mention of marriage as only the union of a man and a woman? And there's been a disgusting yet hilarious propaganda video about gays...
And Yagudin is politically very mainstream I believe, as most figure skaters. Pluschenko publicly supported those constitution changes as well.
There's a lot and none of it is pleasant.
Jonathan looking real gorgeous here... just saying. #IlikewhatIsee
I can only land my loop with the one foot technique.
is it true Eteri's daughter left Igor?
just curious, who is maggie? the one who called hamada's abuse
There were also many tweets from Nobunari Oda, which were quite sad.
@@evanperilstein5308 thank you!
@@SilenceHurtsMore thanks for explaining!
Also, your English is very good so no need to apologize. 🙂
You two look particularly handsome in this episode! ;) Also, you got me smiling so much in this ep! made my night
Otter Puff 😘😘😘
