Hi Pete! It always gives me a laugh how when I was in your maths lessons plodding my way through my GCSES, I never would have imagined that 10 years later I would continue to return back to your TH-cam channel on the regular, to instead be taught how to play some of my favourite songs on guitar. Thank you once again for having such a talent for this, excited to see more from the new album!🫡
A moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering passion and dedication in teaching us the beautiful and challenging songs we've had the pleasure of learning together. Your enthusiasm and commitment to pushing our limits have not only enhanced our skills but also deepened our appreciation for the art of music and of course Ben songs. We are truly grateful for the knowledge you share with us, on behalf of all ¡we feel fortunate to have Pete! 🙌 warm regards
Its the same picking pattern as follies fixture, which was already one of the most addictive fingerstyle patterns I have yet learned, on steroids in regards to the pacing and melodic deftness. Repeating bars 8 to 11 ad nauseum feels so dam good under the fingers.
Amazing tutorial Pete! So excited to learn it this weekend. Days of Lantana is probably my favourite song of the last decade, so I’m very excited to figure out how to play it
thanks for making this so clear! haven't been able to get this song out of my head since i first heard it and i've been looking for a proper tutorial since. appreciate it lots :)
Thanks as always Pete. I was sitting on my hands patiently anticipating your tutorial. I've been fortune enough to pick up a pair of tickets to see Ben play in Montreal in October. Keep well all.
@@BanthamLegend I picked up a used volca beats off Amazon - great condition. Just figuring out how to use it now 😅 video idea - volca beats guide 💡 How did you set up this background beat for days of Lantana?
@@BanthamLegend th-cam.com/video/jUiKFFc9hYM/w-d-xo.htmlm52s his performance at rock Werchter was professionally recorded and is brilliant. Thanks Pete
If you do not want to tune your guitar all the way down you can also use this "minimal" tuning: E - Ab - Db - Gb - H - H Of course, you can't play along with the recording then but it's still fun.
Thanks, not sure about walking backwards. Ben seems to write guitar songs or band songs (or at least the guitar part is quite submerged). I really have to want to learn a song to give it attention. The first two albums really had that pull, but the guitar interest has been much more scarce since.
Also because you mentioned it, the live version of Moonraker is perfect for acoutic guitar, have you checked it out? Nontheless again thank you again for this wonderful tutorial, now I know what I'll do the next days :)
Great work Pete. Can't wait to try it. The high E note that tuned to F - that would be a tuning up right? And not down? Otherwise you'd have to tune 5 notes down?
Thanks. I explain my string set up here: th-cam.com/video/XXGTFiuN71U/w-d-xo.html The sound is not just purely about the strings. The way you pluck (nails Vs pads), where you pluck (closer to the bridge Vs closer to the neck) and the build of your guitar. My guitar is all solid spruce/rosewood with a dreadnought body so will sound similar to Ben's Martin D28.
Hey, this is my favourite song ever atm. I am trying to play this but I do not know how to tune my guitar to B flat etc. And what are the Fs? I'm so confused :( AMAZING tutorial btw :)
My guitar can't even hold those low notes for a minute even. Been stretching and retuning for a half hour🤦♂️ Gotta get a new one i think. I love the old and worn tone, but it does show its age.
The length of the vibrating string makes a difference. Longer string has more tension at the same pitch. So playing on a dreadnought at this tuning is more achievable than on a 00, for instance.
You’re always the one we can count on for these tutorials. Exceptional talent, thank you for all you do ! Rock on man 🤙🏻
Got it keep up with expectations 🤙🏻

10 years ago I was just starting the channel! Well done for sticking with the guitar 🎸
Thanks to you, I can now play my favourite song from the new album. Thank you so much Pete, you are the best guitar teacher on TH-cam!
Thanks Josh, that's probably the best compliment I've had this week 🎸🤙🏻
Keep doing these videos. I know a lot of us appreciate them a lot
Also, im a regular watcher of your content all the way from Venezuela South America 🤟🏻
Thanks mate, I'll be back on TH-cam soon 🎸🤘🏻
I don't even play guitar. Just here to hear this beautiful song deconstructed. You did a fantastic job playing it
Thanks for putting this together Pete, hope you’ve been keeping well. Definitely my favourite off the new album
Thanks, yeah I'm all good, feeling productive, so hoping to put out quite a few videos this summer 👍🏻
Excellent video, thank you for going through the effort of creating this

Can't thank you enough man. As someone who loves playing these songs but can't figure them out for myself, you're a hero.
I like to play them but I really like the challenge of figuring them out 🤙🏻

I concur. My family would also agree about the "ad nauseum" bit too 😆
Thanks Pete - such a great song, and so well played by you. How on earth does he come up with these tunes!
It's a secret I'm sure he's guarding closely!
You’re a legend for posting this ❤
Nice work man. Love this song.
Can we get more Ben Howard tutorials please!! Your ones are the best!
Thanks very much. I think Ben needs to write some more "guitar friendly" songs first. I can't really get into some of his new electric based stuff.
@@BanthamLegend maybe not new ones but I don't think you've done a tutorial for Old Pine and maybe a few other older ones 👀
Thank you so much for this Pete. :) been a while.
Thanks man, always great to hear from the original subscribers 💪🏻

Awesome! Love it and amazing tutorial as always. Thanks!

@@BanthamLegend are you based down near London by any chance? I have a spare ticket for Ben's show at Ally Pally next weekend if so!

Brilliant this is, thanks Pete. Will be learning it this weekend 🙌🏽
Good to hear. More tutorials coming.

Hello! thanks a lot for this great tutorial. would it be possible to have the tabs (in pdf for example?) thanks again!

Will you be uploading these to your website? It's amazingly appreciated that you put this content out here :)
Yes, later this week. The website needs some work....
@@BanthamLegend Take your time my good sir. Excited to hear you're planning on doing so.
Thanks for this. I love this song. Have you given any thoughts to a Richmond Avenue tutorial?
Thanks

Currently murdering Walking Backwards. I may just skip the cover and go straight to the tutorial 🙄
@BanthamLegend I love the new album. I saw him play at Cardiff Castle and it was the best gig I've seen him put on and one of my favourite gigs ever.
Pete, you do amazing things! I love your tutorials as well as your covers! Cheers! :)

@@BanthamLegend You’re awesome, dude, of course you did. Found some clues on the Blogoteque session?

Download a chromatic tuner app. B flat is also A sharp.
My guitar won't tune to this, the strings snap :( Please help
Maybe try new and thicker strings 👍🏻
@@BanthamLegend Thanks, just tried it on my electric and it tunes better but once i've tuned all the strings, the others go off tune again :/
@GexAdventures time for another guitar just for dropped tunings...
how hard is this song for a intermediate player in comparison to playing everything by ben howard?
Pretty easy as it's so repetitive and not too fast. The awkward bit is the tuning...
I wish the tuning wasn't so low, my G string broke last time I tuned back up to standard from this 😢
This guitar has never been in standard tuning 😲
