Built just like the originals were with a Masonite body and two Lipstick pickups with a wooden saddle - these Danelectro guitars offer a tone all of their own. I don't play that well, but I have a black '59 Stock and love the sound. Great playability, and it's LIGHT (basically a hollow-body), so if you play standing up, it doesn't feel like you have a boat anchor hanging on your shoulder.
Easier said than done, your playing is killer!

The Overdrive sounds great, good instrument
I think the real question is why play White Summer on anything besides this guitar? I can't imagine that song played on anything else. Beautiful sound

@@san5a89 Yes I do. I also have a Dano 56 U2 second reissue circa 98?-2003. Had the stock rosewood bridge, I replaced it with the correct style metal bridge/string saddles. Better tone IMO.
@@san5a89 The rosewood didn't warp the bottom of the bridge plate did twice. I figured it's from storing the guitar without tuning it down a half step, the strings were under full tension and most likely caused that. The pickups on both of mine put out 3.4k. They are good! I wouldn't change them.
@@san5a89 My 56 U2 the tuning keys aren't all that but I put up with them. The newer Dano is great in every way. High quality feeling neck and tuners.
@@san5a89 A very good version is the Jade green 57 U2 that came out within the past yr.
@@davidkastin4240 very beautiful but aesthetically I like more the original dc 59. that's why I'm considering the reissue and the new model. I'm trying to understand if the new improvements worth it. for example the bridge is really ugly to me...

Tried playing one a few days ago, also played a USA strat, les Paul and and Japanese fender. This played the best, sounded great too

How do you compare this one with the NOS? Besides, this bridge makes intonation and adjustment harder? Thanks! And sorry if I made mistakes, English isn't my mother language.
@@san5a89 Same here... I've watched different videos comparing them and... They both actually sound awesome 😂 hard choice. I think the nos pickups have more gain maybe...?

@@san5a89 I am from Spain :) we are close neighbours! 😂 you can buy one of these in Thomann, try it for 30 days and return it if you don't like it. You can even buy a nos and a stock and return the one you don't like. But it depends on your budget 😅
