Thanks for the video...I made one and worked great with a couple of changes (the vertical is now 16", added a couple of elbows on the top, and used 3" instead of the 2" for the width) so that it would fit my electric guitar. Thanks again and keep up the great videos.
Excellent design! Tried this myself and messed up the angle of the upright, so I had to cut it to put in a 46° elbow to get the lean corrected. Only improvement I'd recommend is to put the upright in when gluing the middle triplet of T elbows, so you can lock in the right angle
i recently did a similar design but i added 2 elbows on both sides of the T joint on top just in case it slides sideways and falls off. I've seen many diy stands without top support and it gives me anxiety
Thanks for the video, awesome job. Just so you know they make a blue PVC pipe glue that holds really strong (like never coming off) and no need for mixing it.
for third world countries like the one I live in (Mexico), where a stand costs 40 dollars and PVC parts just like these cost about 50 cents, this is great.
Couple of things: Number one, you should have not used the epoxy, common PVC cement, clear, gray or white will suffice and is cheaper, prime the joints with acetone or even a little rubbing alcohol to clean the joints for gluing. Next, unless you find some adequate padding, you're going to get some serious scratches on your instruments. I suggest some of the insulation used for cold weather applications with PVC pipe, it just slips over during assembly or can be slit and then taped or glued to hold it in place in case you haven't thought that far ahead. In the end, unless you have the material and glue on hand left over from your irrigation system build, you can buy a commercial folding stand that will fit in your guitar case for about the same price that you would pay for the components. 2X4 scraps left over from a build and a small amount of glue and a few drywall screws will also work. It all depends on what you have on hand whether or not it is cheaper to build a stand, that folding stand that fits in the guitar case looks real good at about $25, I can't remember the name of the stand, but it is offered by the Blue Chip Pick Company on their website, presumably it is available elsewhere. Check out the Blue Chip site, their picks are equal to Tortoise in every way, and are more consistent, great product, and the stand is a great one as well, imagine a good stand that will fold up and fit under the headstock or in your string/tuner/pick storage container of your case. Still you have a good idea for those who have PVC material on hand and need a stand right away, for me, I already have a stand, and have ordered another, one of the folding ones from Blue Chip.
Hye brother, it's very amazing I made it and it's looking very cool. I don't painted it because the colour was matching with my guitar. Awesome idea bro.
Fuck haters! Dude this is fucking amazing! After seeing this I went to the store and got a Hella load of pvc pipes, made stands for all 6 of my guitars.! Amazing stuff man, really helped me.
To all the verbally abusive negative commenters I strongly recommend you ask your doctor to increase your medications because they're are obviously NOT working. This is a simple and very inexpensive project that can easily be modified to accommodate more guitars. Also let it be known that many inexpensive commercial stands are junk - they are not stable and the guitar can and does fall out of the stand far too easily. Also the rubber protection deteriorates rapidly and the metal parts can and do scrape the finish on your guitar whereas the PVC is plastic and does NOT. However I would not recommend paint on any surface of the PVC stand that would contact the finish of you guitar unless you chose to cover this surface with insulation foam or rubber. After a guitar is verified to fit securely in the stand, I would recommend that all joints be epoxied and made solid. As an added security feature I would add a strong elastic or strap to lock the guitar neck in the upper part of this stand. I have seen guitars go flying after the stand was accidently knocked. Thanks Rick for taking the time to put together this interesting option to make guitar stands.
Guys be aware! I bought everything 25 mm. But couldn't joint the pipes to t's since it requires heating. So I'd suggest using 20 mm pipes and 25 mm t's and other joints
Surapurna ahmad saputra 40 cm = 1 17 cm = 2 10 cm = 2 7 cm = 2 4 cm = 8 i added like 0.5 cm in all of those to give it in non decimal form like 39.5 and like that....plus it's more safe that way in my opinion cuz i already build one like that...so,have fun building one ^_^
It's a 0.5" PVC pipe, not 1.5". It took me a couple times going through the video to get that too. He could have phrased it better. :D For added durability, buy the 0.5" Schedule 40 pvc pipe, that's what I did. This type is much tougher.
You obviously can if you want. I found the friction fit to be strong enough for this purpose. It also will allow me to break it apart for easy transportation if needed. PVC cement would obviously make it stronger and less likely to move.
Rick excellent work brother... do make things which can help others.. salute you man for ur idea.. dont get down by seeing those fucking comments of mother fuckers. keep coming with ur new videos brother
dude that's why it is called a guitar "stand" not a guitar wall mount and also guitar wall mount can damage the neck of the guitar especially in electric guitar. Peace.
I will not put my $1700.00 guitar on that P.O.S stand. It doesn't look very sturdy. O yeah...an the first part of the video was hilarious. You were giving that pipe a good buffing....😂
Why not just buy a stand? LOL, Because some people like making things, thats why. I never buy something I can make. I made my stand out of black iron pipe, but its different than this one. Plus I made them about 10 years ago. It's heavy, very solid, looks awesome, and its a LOT better than any stand you can buy, period. Since I've made mine, I've made 16 more for friends that liked it and wanted one or a few.

Dennis Martin is this good for electric guitar? If it is, im making one :)
Excellent design!

Will definitely be making this, great job!! SN: I know I'm not the only one who grinned when the sanding started.
nice work!!! i would add 2 elbows for the guitar neck
i recently did a similar design but i added 2 elbows on both sides of the T joint on top just in case it slides sideways and falls off. I've seen many diy stands without top support and it gives me anxiety

Super classy. Thanks for the teaching.
0:28 what is bro doing😂
It is a familiar action. 😏
thanks Rick, it looks good. I think it may be more practical to just buy one for $16 though. I might make one out of some spare trim wood I have.
made it just now. only if I could send you a pic. came out perfect. Thanks a lot brother. ✌😎

@@hamtataclone lol its the opposite here in Canada, unless I raid a construction site.
@@hugopoyoyo9886 I recently bought a Cort electroacoustic guitar and it cost me like 150 dlls.
I have just made it, it works perfectly! Thanks ! :D
Awesome!, can you upload a pdf with the size of the pvc pieces?
Great video! Could I make a cello stand with this technique?

Guitarist are creative types so even though it may cost more, it’s fun, creative and gives my blisters on me fingers a rest😊🎸
I thought the same. Dollar store swim noodles is what I'm thinking.
This is great. Thanks for sharing your good knowledge and skills
thank's man! i just made for myself and it's working perfectly!
I'm glad it worked out for you! I still use mine all the time.
Rick Osgood does it work whith electric guitars?
I don't see why it wouldn't. You might have to make the front of the base more narrow if the guitar isn't as wide.
Ok thanks
+Rick Osgood I believe he can use a u bend somewhere on the middle of the base, that way it'll be more sturdier for an electric.
Thank you for this video. We used it, with some modifications, to make a stand for our cosplay proton pack.
Thank you... I too made one.. its really great.
Thank you… had to do little adjustments to the measurements but other than that everything went well..
Good job brother... 👌👌👌
Thank you....i will create this also..thank you rick
Cool idea!!!!!
Awesome n cost effective compared to buying a new one..!
Hye brother, it's very amazing I made it and it's looking very cool. I don't painted it because the colour was matching with my guitar. Awesome idea bro.
sometimes i like to smooth out my pipe
Lol..😆🤣🤣
do you need a hand ?
whats the girth of these parts?
Thanks for sharing
Thanks bro☺️
Fuck haters! Dude this is fucking amazing! After seeing this I went to the store and got a Hella load of pvc pipes, made stands for all 6 of my guitars.! Amazing stuff man, really helped me.
maybe you can build 5 guitars version
This reallt helps thanks alot! Bro
How much did this cost ?
thank you so much for the idea.
Excelente Hermano 👍...!
Thanks
I did it, it is very nice and pretty

Here's all you need,
12 inch pipe ×1
5 inch pipe ×2
3 inch pipe ×2
2 jnch pipe ×2
I inxh pipe ×8
T's ×6
Elbows ×2
End caps ×8
The great 👍👍👍
Do I need to glue all parts of the pipe??
hey man can you post the measure ment of the pipes
Amazing job awsome
Awesome!
About how much did it cost?
0:28 to 0:31 looks rather innocent 😇
How much did all the materials cost?
Gil Mo Nayo Wrong probably only $5-$10
good idea
thanks 😍😍😍🇱🇰🇱🇰
cool
I suppose one might do that, but I can buy a very nice adjustable folding steel stand at my local music store for a mere $14 canadian ( ~$10 US )
Guys be aware! I bought everything 25 mm. But couldn't joint the pipes to t's since it requires heating. So I'd suggest using 20 mm pipes and 25 mm t's and other joints
Can you give me the length of each piece of PVC in Cm? Tank's!
+Surapurna ahmad saputra Dude......seriously?
♫BelieveBronyStudios♫ 100% serious, please
Surapurna ahmad saputra
40 cm = 1
17 cm = 2

4 cm = 8

♫BelieveBronyStudios♫ wow thank's dude! awesome, now my guitar have her own stand!!
Surapurna ahmad saputra
you already made it?
superb...
Is the piping 1.5" inside diameter or outside diameter?
josephmilsark123 either will work, won't it?

Scratches??
Nice👍👏👏👏👏👌🌷🎶✔
Is it too weak to stand a bass?
Use galvanized metal pipe if u feel the PVC is to weak hope that helps
kaleb Dodson Thanks bro.
+Andmau2552 You can use 3/4 or 1'' sch.40 PVC for bass
wow.. great
COOL AND NICE
Great Idea but by the time this is said and done I could have just bought a stand
why not use PVC glue?

cool project, shame the parts and glue come out to more than buying a 10$ stand.
hugo poyoyo thats my regret lmao
no need to buy glue. just use some plastic to make it tight
cool!!
DIY is great - until you pay way more (here the plumbing stuff plus paint is about $35 and have a more ugly product than you can buy!
Rick excellent work brother... do make things which can help others.. salute you man for ur idea.. dont get down by seeing those fucking comments of mother fuckers. keep coming with ur new videos brother
But the guitar still might fall off at the top of the stand.
work smarter, not harder. guitar wall mount is way easier, cheaper, and takes up less space.
dude that's why it is called a guitar "stand" not a guitar wall mount and also guitar wall mount can damage the neck of the guitar especially in electric guitar. Peace.
I will not put my $1700.00 guitar on that P.O.S stand. It doesn't look very sturdy. O yeah...an the first part of the video was hilarious. You were giving that pipe a good buffing....😂
If you have the money to get a 1700$ dollae why would you watch this video0
why not just buy a guitar stand
if you have a talent just make one and post a video... Or-else shut the fuck up...!
steve shadforth well you're a jackass
Why not just buy a stand? LOL, Because some people like making things, thats why. I never buy something I can make. I made my stand out of black iron pipe, but its different than this one. lmao!
Will all that pvc be cheaper that $12??
