Are you a man or a millennial?! Lol figure it out, bro! lol seriously! Lol …What’s that thing you’re hitting the pipes with? Lol Oooh Gawd! That spinning thing and that blade looks like it’s just itching to give you a boo-boo! 😂 Edit: you got building advice from a chick! You should thank her! 😆
3 years later and the rack I made using this tutorial is still going strong. The PVC around the eye hooks is a little warped, but considering it’s been holding 4 guitars (one being a les paul) I would say this is far cry better than spending $80-$100 on the lowest quality guitar rack you can get.
Very Nice Build, I made mine out of PVC as well. The only thing I would add is that 12" sections of rebar are cheap at any hardware store, put lengths of that inside the base pipes before closing. Really secures the base and keeps it planted, especially along the front side that the guitars will be leaning away from.
Hey, just finished mine. A gift for my guy for his B-day. Pretty simple and fun and gave me a bit of confidence to try making one with wood. Thanks much.
you can buy a PVC "Cutter." Its a scissor-like tool that you put the pipe in, and pull the handle 2 or 3 times and it cuts right through. for those that dont have a power saw.
i'll surely give this a try! i'll need a rack for maybe 5-6 guitars. which do you think might be a better design? a longer one? or 2-sided? i figure the latter would save more space and probably more rigid. a longer one might need more support in the middle. either way, it will be based on your design!
Good points.. I think this design would still be plenty stable up to even 8 guitars, but if you have the space--double sided would be a cool new idea to try!
Very cool, if you added 4 angled PVC fittings and 2 more short straight pieces, you could do away with the wire and whatnot, and it would be stiffer. but thumbs up for a cheap and easy stand.
Maaan this was extremely useful for me, thank you from the bottom of my heart man! I created a 10 rack electric guitar stand using your same tools and your dimesions, wish i could send you a picture tho.. hahahhha thank you man!!
Nice video! I don’t know if this would help but you could possibly fill the pipes with something for added support and strength like maybe that expanding spray foam? Just a thought. Thanks again for taking the time to make and share this helpful video!!
Good point, but the two base pieces are close enough that the curve of *most* guitars won't dip below the 1/2" pvc and insulation. I say most because my guitarlele does encounter this problem
I doubt it, It's probably just to keep the pipe from bending over time, but its I assume you could just screw the foot part into the neck holder for the same affect if you wanted to give up easy transportation
Hello. In my local store, if I take a pvc pipe and fittings of the same diameter, pipe won't stick in without external soldering machine (they told me it needs to be heated up). But on your video you just stick pipe into fittings without any problem. My question: did you use some special fittings that don't require additional tools to be stuck on pipe?
Artur Khayrullin half inch pvc should be able to tightly slot into half inch pvc fittings. Sounds like you might be looking at copper pipe, which does require additional soldering
Be sure to go over all the joints with pvc or super glue, and add the cable support toward the end of the video and it'll be plenty sturdy. This build has been in use since the video was made and no issues!
Curious why didnt you go to your loal hardware store for the material and parts? Im too impatient to wait around for stuff to arrive in the mail. Was it due to the Scamdemic? I tried to purchase 22 gauge wire for rewiring my pickups and the Hardware store was useless, so was Long and McQuade, I had to order online from Stew Mac.
Polyethylene is inert, but I guess you never really know with nitrocellulose. It'd be simple to drape a wool cloth over the slot where you'd keep your nitrocellulose guitar if it were really a concern
had the same question right now. i guess there are not many guitars with nitro finish. but when you own one you probably know that. yes a cloth put down would be sufficient i guess. one could use old clothing like socks or pullovers and use them to cover and stitch or glue them over the foam. my question would be if the foam gets squished and thin. using this for a longer time could deform it ? any expierience?
If the stand was going to be moved around I would have used PVC glue, but for something stationary in the corner of your room even the super glue isnt really necessary. The pipes fit tight enough on their own for this.

@@NickRehmcontent thanks again, man. Turned out good. Right on!

Yo this is absolutely awesome. Typing this on my desk next to my same rack--a few apartment changes later. Cheers man
@@NickRehmcontent Thanks for the inspiration.

Excellent idea. I'm sure the extra weight helps keep it stable
This is not a DIY! This is ART 👌🏻🤘🏼

For those who wonder, the last song is "take us on" from Nylonia, album "Meet in the Arcade"
I have 3 electric giutar and 1 acoustic. I decide to make a DIY giutar stand. Thanks for you video.

Great video. The pace of the video is good with no unnecessary long shot of each action.
Yes that is a shining example of a video with nearly zero wasted time.
Cool design! Simple, repeatable, and low cost/skill barrier to entry. Thanks for making this video. Even a hack like me can make one.
God bless you brother.. God bless you
Ahh...I love pvc. Such a cool material to work with. Turned out great!

I really like your design...trying to decide how to modify for a cello rack for 4 cellos (soft cases). Wish there was someone like you to direct me!
Pm me if you need any assistance figuring something out!
awesome! simple, needs only a few tools, short materials list... and it works!!! well done mate!
irwinfc Cheers man! Hope this helps out if you were looking to build a rack for yourself

That's really cool, I need to puzzle out one to hold odd shaped guitars like Flying V's or BC Rich Warlocks...
The only thing that I have found works for the Warlock is a wall hanger lol. Same with my Mockingbird
Hi rick, i built my own stand the last weekend follow your steps on the video and looks awesome thanks forma ShareThis see ya
I just made one and it turned out great!!! Thanks for the video, was very helpful!!!
Hey that's great news! Very glad to help you out
Love that soundtrack!
what is that, its bloody awesome
Awesome Job!
You're a MacGyver among Men!
That’s cool, dude. Thanks for posting.
use PVC cement instead of super glue, use a PVC pipe cutter (a hand tool) instead of a huge saw.
Great idea! Only one question: Is PVC safe to use with nitrocellulose finishes?
Very cool, if you added 4 angled PVC fittings and 2 more short straight pieces, you could do away with the wire and whatnot, and it would be stiffer. but thumbs up for a cheap and easy stand.
Tuco Pacifico definitely another option! These were just some of the things I had on hand at the time
It might add a couple of extra cuts and maybe a couple of bucks, but no drilling or eyehooks, etc.
Plus it would be much stiffer...
Maaan this was extremely useful for me, thank you from the bottom of my heart man! I created a 10 rack electric guitar stand using your same tools and your dimesions, wish i could send you a picture tho.. hahahhha thank you man!!
Hey, gracias por el vídeo, es muy funcional cuando tienes más de dos guitarras saludos 🇩🇴
The video is cool but loved the music!
Good video and amazing soundtrack!
thanks men for this idea, i was make my rack is awesome!
Hey, might be a long shot but can you send me the cuts and measurements for a 2 guitar rack. Cannot figure out the measurements . Sorry.
Nice video! I don’t know if this would help but you could possibly fill the pipes with something for added support and strength like maybe that expanding spray foam? Just a thought. Thanks again for taking the time to make and share this helpful video!!
Definitely gonna make it, great one !!!
Dude I love the video. But wouldn't the base be a problem since it's so low to the ground? I feel like the guitar would be banging on the ground
Good point, but the two base pieces are close enough that the curve of *most* guitars won't dip below the 1/2" pvc and insulation. I say most because my guitarlele does encounter this problem
Gotcha. Thanks!
Just add more foam
I would use a bigger PVC on the bottom with bigger insolation 🤔 I was thinking the same thing and changing the design in my mind xD
Will this work for guitars that are in gig bags? I dont want strings exposed to the air for long periods of time
Yup!
Just take some measurements. Good luck!
Nice Dude!
Thank you!!
Hay una parte en el vídeo q no se ve la medida del tubo pvc.x fa.
Awesome

ขอบคุณมากครับ สำหรับความรู้ จะลองทำตามนะครับ
nsemble ça me parait un peu léger comme matériaux pour supporter des solid body et pour la stabilité de l’e
Thanks for video.
GREAT VIDEO NICK, whats the depth and width on the one you built in the video ?
Thanks Derek, the total footprint came out to be 13.5" x 22"
Any other way to attach the pipe insulation to the PVC other than hot glue? could i just use super glue?
x a n a x Super glue will melt the foam unfortunately. Any thicker glue like epoxy or silicone glue could work
Nice!! Is it necessary to add the braded cable??
I doubt it, It's probably just to keep the pipe from bending over time, but its I assume you could just screw the foot part into the neck holder for the same affect if you wanted to give up easy transportation

You can't solder PVC you use PVC cement if you want it to be permanent
Loved it
Awesome !!!
brilliant!
Isn't this construction too light to support 3 guitars? It feels like it will fall or break.
Be sure to go over all the joints with pvc or super glue, and add the cable support toward the end of the video and it'll be plenty sturdy. This build has been in use since the video was made and no issues!
Can you store your guitars with their soft cases on, on that?
Just checked and works just fine
Owwwwww obg mano
Amazing, thanks!
nice
I dont think the measurements you gave match what you did I ln the video 🤔
Who's doing the guitar playing heard in the video ?
OnfloorAudio I got the music from a royalty free service offered through my TH-cam partner. Artist wasn't listed unfortunately...wish it was me!!
I like your stand too BTW !!!
Thumbs Up !!

1/2" in mm?
1/2" is 12.7 mm (That's what I found about it, hope the info is right and You still need it and )
3-0 Go Pack!
What measure is that?
Meters? Or Inch? Or feet?
Inch! Sorry about that
That insulation is probably not safe for nitrocellulose finishes.

Quais as medidas em português
1" = 2.54cm
For anyone that wants to know how to tie the picture frame wire: th-cam.com/video/DjZxYRMxVDg/w-d-xo.html
what size pipe?
John Sadowski I used half inch but 3/4" could work as well
Can you tell me thw height please
Cinpu Sukte the vertical pieces I cut were about 24", but the total height comes up to be an inch or so more than that
👍👍
Why are you using superglue instead of proper pvc piping glue, it's not that expensive... I'd be afraid the superglue couldn't handle the stress.
thenetimp It's all I had at the time and had proven to work in the past for simple projects like this. Cheers!
If the stand was going to be moved around I would have used PVC glue, but for something stationary in the corner of your room even the super glue isnt really necessary. The pipes fit tight enough on their own for this.
obrigado, copiado .
Sell these on amazon.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
In India, we get guitar Rack at 20$ (1500rupees)😂
Gotta be more than $20. The fittings alone is about $20.
I just bought the materials for mine and it came at less than $10 at Home Depot (without the paint)
😱👌👌👌👌👌
I heard very good opinions about the Woodglut plans.
To cut a pvc you need such a machine? Blame on you, man.
Hacksaw works fine, chop saw works faster if you have one
