The fact that though Whitney's vocal range is totally different from that of Xtina it only goes to show how versatile and professional Xtina is, that she still nailed that extremely difficult song to the end.
She didn't nail that song. There is no doubt she can sing, but her voice isn't suited for that song. Constantly singing ballads for al lthose years and all those interviews has limited her flexiblity. "Dance with somebody" or HOw Will I know... something more pop/dance. is better for her wheel house now
I think their ranges are similar, xtina actually might have a wider range. But whitney has more power and better belting range and technique. Xtina is good, not many can cover whitney.

It's never been a question about Christina's vocals. She has an amazing voice! One of the very few pop stars who can blow like this!
When a legend like Whitney praises you for singing her song that says a lot! Who wants to touch a Whitney Houston song? Nobody. But when Christina and Kelly Clarkson do it, pay attention because they are some of the REALest talents out there today.

Yeah but was like 15 seconds and she also got bad news through a phone call just before she hit the stage so it want bad but it clearly wasn’t what she’s capable of now either. Her voice show one months before was an amazing tribute I will forever be sad it didn’t air after recording it. :(

She has a lot of blue-eyed & brown-eyed soul & hip-hop in herself. I’ve been a fan of hers since 1999, even though I first saw her in the Mickey Mouse Club in the early 90’s. Beautiful mezzo-soprano voice.
Christina is an icon in the music industry, comparable to Whitney and Mariah, Only thing I can see she needs to work on is calming down on the runs as she performs and let us see the softer side of her. Absolutely breathtaking song, great job.

Not really, she did her rendition great she sings more chesty and Whitney sings different style and does a lot more mix in her voice.
