Hello sir. Adjusting the grade allows you to set the Mainfall slope (front to back) to whatever you desire. Once you establish an a to b heading (A being the hinge point) you can then tell the software what mainfall slope you want. The number that populates is the value of mainfall that calculates between the two elevations you shot with the machine. Once you have your heading set front to back with a mainfall slope set, the cross fall value (left and right) then allows you to create a dual plane surface. Hope that helps.
It will create a grid across the flat plane starting from where you take a shot on the blade. You can set the size of each grid to any dimension. So if you make it 50' you'll have a 50' mark in each direction from origin point. Not a great explanation but hope that makes a little sense.
Yes, you will need a correction source such as a base station, or NTrip corrections (most all Komatsu machines have a modem installed you can utilize). Currently there is no 2D option that allows for slope control without a fixed GPS position. If you are using an aftermarket Topcon system it should have the ability for 2D autos.
