Seriously, with all the niche options in the packout lineup why is there still no rolling drawer option? It makes no sense to have the bottom box of a stack only accessible from the top so that you have to take everything else in the stack off of it for access. 😒 That bottom box is the perfect piece to feature front-access drawers. It seems to me like that should be the literal foundation of the standard 3-piece stack
@@hopkinstreeexperts759 yeah, they do make a separate 4-castor dolly for rolling things around the shop, but I'm guessing it can't handle much in terms of uneven terrain compared to the standard hand-truck style rolling box. I was just saying: wouldn't it be great if that rolling box had front-access drawers instead of a top-loading box lid - that way we wouldn't have to move several boxes off the top of it just to gain access 👍
@@skygreen5939 yeah the dolly they make works like a traditional one. You can put whatever boxes you want on it. They have both the 4 wheel cart and the dolly system.
@@hopkinstreeexperts759 ah, you're talking about the hand truck they call a "2-Wheel Utility Cart", yeah? I ALMOST picked that up, but was dissuaded by some negative reviews. Also, that hand truck plus just one drawer box at list price would be ~$400 😳... i dunno, i feel like they are missing an opportunity not just making a drawer version of that rolling tool box - i expect it would outsell the hand truck, and maybe even the rolling box itself.
I use the rigid boxes but there is a reason packout is considered top of the line. An awesome system, if I was in the trades that is what I would use. I am a mechanic so I went with the best made, cheapest ones at the time. I only use them occasionally for roadside assistance and small jobs.
Definitely love the Packout! Was previously considering Dewalt since they had the drawers that would fit my needs more or Flex because of the customizability. But this year alone between the new stuff they came out with, with the smaller storage boxes that you can stack and the fan support with customization and inserts, I cannot resist. The smaller stackable storage units make it so much easier to store my power tools and their parts/accs/blades and be able to switch between trucks.
When I purchased the packout system it was the only modular storage system that would stand up to the riggers of the environment that I was working in at the time (Ground up commercial construction). It had the largest wheels. This was a huge factor rolling through dirt and up and down steps. Overall, it was the toughest strongest system at the time. so yes, I paid 3x the price of the other systems and felt like it was worth every penny. However, that being said, as an electrician, if i was to purchase a system today I would go with the Klein system because it is geared specifically to to the electrical trade. It is tailored to electricians and communications installers. I won''t say that it is better, but it is specifically geared to our trade....If I didn't have so much money invested in the packout system ($700+) I would go with the new Klein system today!
I've made the transition out of most of my large Packouts and moved to the deep organizers. Much more comfortable to carry and it's impressive how many tools fit. The drawers are great in my trailer for all types of hardware. I have Ridgids for general storage and task specific grab and go boxes. They just lack in compact storage options. I highly recommend both.

I have a decent amount of Packout and I use it daily as a GC/Handyman. I is extremely durable and very expansive with more than just the storage pieces. I like how i can add te various tools or boxes to meet te needs of one or two specific jobs/tasks i am performing in a house, rather than lugging in everything, or a handful of separate tools. I can also clip my Packout vacuum on as well and don't have to drag in a larger one or search for a plug and extension cord. Now, if they only made a step stool that i could clip on to te side...
My plastic boxes that my tools came in are perfect for storage in the drawers. Yes you need to separate the tops from the bottoms depending on the size of your tool box, but it works, just like the boxes that screws and nails come in. No need to over think. Just think about it.

I got lucky and got a crap ton of like new pack out stuff for a fraction of the msrp it would have been. Every additional item I’ve picked up to expand was worth every penny. Gets me on and off job sites WAY more efficiently. Also, I’m a Ryobi/Milwaukee guy

you need the lock handles when driving. the draws are full of heavy tools and WILL fly open. if a competitor really wants to compete with Milwaukee they will make their large containers with front giant drawers that pull out because the stacking is the downside having to pull stacks apart to get to tools. Milwaukee has the little drawer units but not the meg drawer. And if you've ever hoisted these things around they are extremely heavy once filled with tools.
So this is a wide range subject as everyone has their own favorite platform. I chose Milwaukee as I wanted to invest into better tools. Pack out is definitely designed for mobility. Don’t get me wrong I see the value of it in a shop for organization. It’s definitely been out longer and lots of fans have found ways to make it better. I have a few pack out boxes which I use for things that a rarely use. I feel it’s definitely for the professional that is constantly mobile. I think I’d like to get a few with drawers on them. Now you can’t find the wall shelf system that was once offered. I do feel it’s a bit overpriced. If you have a shop I think investing in a decent toolbox and foam would better serve you as you grow in tools. Mobile professionals should invest in this to organize there truck, van to customize there needs for the job they are doing as opposed to carrying everything in and only needing certain things. However “MOST” not all professionals are a bit of slobs and don’t care about there equipment. Which usually means they don’t care about there work ethics.
Haha. You say you don’t do much electrical work so you bought the large organizer to keep your electrical tools and supplies? Having only wire strippers and wing nuts that couldn’t fill 1/3 of the small organizer in your largest organizer, bought specially for that, makes perfect sense. It seems more like you bought to boost your 86 Packout video in an attempt to stay relevant. You are a lot more enjoyable and informative if you stick to what you know based on your personal experience. Love several of tour woodworking related videos.
I have a ton of the Milwaukee Pack Out even the first aide kit. Wall mounts system. Even Have some Festool Systainers. I came across some Klien Tools stackable drawer boxes and the quality along with price is better imo than Milwaukee drawers. The high price of Milwaukee is getting outrageous. But that red wall of Milwaukee looks great next to my OmniWall System in my shop.
@the outlaw effect 2:14 hey Matt, love new channel, congrats btw-sorry late; & just saw this nice tad bit AND WANT ONE, of course….right lol. So, can help fellow tool lover & tradesman, etc…. And let me know what 3D printer used to make yours. Want to get into 3d printers in my spare time, but I’ll probably source it till can get my own and learn h9w to use. Also, your Chan description reads similar to my resume and I got started around than too. Keep up the great fun work doin’👍🏻 and imo, no such thing as boring vid, as ppl can ⏩ what [They] find dull, but others might not! Ex. Thanks for your review Matt. I don't have a system but if I bought one I'd seriously consider Klein because I just love the color. I know, that's a terrible reason to buy organization products. But I do love the color. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Haven’t tried the others except older Dewalt, but being in a hot/cold work van for 4 years, no issues with Milwaukee getting brittle. Dewalt shattered after 1 year - but again this is their older boxes, not their newest.
Milwaukee Packout is the best I've seen. Don't own ANY because I can't justify the cost. Unfortunately your content has only reinforced my jealousy. I am well aware of what will happen if I buy 1 or 2 Packouts...I'll keep buying and end up spending $1k or more. The thought of the possible outcome makes me sick :). Thanks for sharing
Milwaukee has ALWAYS sought out the innovative option. They want to be the company that says “yes, we have something for that” Maybe their impact isn’t “as good as” the flex, but for the soul reason of their ingenuity and drive to make things that work in unison I will always go with them. Seriously, it’s like they look at a process done by hand and think “yeah we can make a tool for that” then drop it. Even if they’re 2nd or even 3rd in the line up I’ll still role with them for that reason alone.
@@TheOutlawEffectahh, I bought the saw and track separately when sale prices made it a good deal 🤷🏻♂️ I really didn’t need another packout case or battery. Thanks for the info though.✌️
The summer release that is coming from Toughbuilt is going to have people flocking. They are coming with the heat in 2024. Also, the following is growing rapidly with many custom mods already being produced by the community.

A word of warning the wall mount packout battery holders only work on the wall mounts they will not lock on packout cases. This annoyed me as I was looking for a fast and convenient way to transport batteries from my wall and on the packout cases
After getting let down with the Ridgid modular system has made me very hesitant on jumping into the PackOut system. Also the ToughBuilt system looks really nice and with what is going to be released in the coming years I might jump on that ship. Oh the decisions…lol!
I’m in Ridgid box line and seems like they are always behind in regards to coming out with more features and options. Just barely came out with a drawer system. Crazy that they were one of the first companies to jump into these stackable mobile box systems is so behind everyone else
I just sold my rolling base because I couldn't stand not being able to have front access. I absolutely hate that I have to take stuff off to get to it. So I'm ordering the 2 wheel cart, i have a 3 drawer but I'm going to pick up a multi depth drawer box, I have the packout vacuum, xl box, backpack, a low profile (the one you have your electrical stuff in, i do the same lol and i have the shockwave 100pc bit set with half packout. The rolling base is junk in my opinion. .
you need, but they dont. what for they will do it? for you go and buy cheaper roller and stack packout boxes on it? they need you to buy all the stuff from one brand, that the patent is for. if i were them i would definitely did some things to prevent mixing and matching. nothing personal, just business))
UK Based. Used Packout for a long time and do love it but several gripes. 1) You shouldn’t have to buy 3rd party 3D printed inserts for their own tools. Even blown moulded inserts like Makita used to do would be a workable compromise. 2) all the wall-mounted stuff is overpriced and unnecessary - lots more focus is needed on getting the packout options nailed. for example… 3) too much-wasted space in packout. When you look at the volume of storage space. Feels like they could be way more efficient. I do love ‘em, though, and certainly spent my hard-earned money getting a van load! Great videos - keep em coming.
Great video! Just a random question, you mentioned your 3d printer.. what brand/ model of 3d printer do you have, I'm in the market for one... thanks from 🇨🇦 !
please let me know what 3D printer you have - didnt get a chance to watch the whole video had to go to work. Might watch later... perhaps you say in the video.
I own 18 packout drawers, as well as other bits, the wheels suck as if you hit a minor crack, pebble on the floor or a small pile of wood shavings they just stop dead, going up high gradients in to customer properties the wheels just get stuck at the bottom and refuse to roll upwards. Pneumatic wheels world be better. . The dividers in the drawers need to be hot glued in pace to make them stay if you move your drawers frequently all my screws, waggos, dril bit accessories got mixed up in the first week due to this issue. The amount of nooks, gaps, and just the general overall lack of smooth monolithic surfaces make these a nightmare to clean after real dusty jobs. And I hate how the drawers are not dust or water resistant. If you are doing dusty work cover them up or move them far away. The bottom roller is a box not a drawer,so you'll never use it due to awful accessability. Although the latest version coming out is a drawer, the only downside being it has solid tiny wheels which will also get stuck only tiny washers, pebbles, dust, etc. Pneumatic tyres on these things please!! Overall...still one of the better ones on the market but still absolutely shit. They always start of really bad so they can drip feed this stuff to the market and pay people like this guy to say nothing but positive things about there products.
I don’t understand the foam and all the packout if your tools don’t leave the shop. Doesn’t seem like you have truly put it to the test. It was made for mobility organization. That being said I’m a mobile tech and I love the packout. The foam is nice and all I’ve thought about it but didn’t make sense to me when my tools take a beating in the field more than they do in my van. I’m not hating. your videos are great I’ve watched many and many of them are awesome I’m just more about seeing true durability testing. Any mobile storage would work sitting in a shop. 👍🏼
It’s fan boy plastic , I use Milwaukee tool for twenty 5+ years , I use ZARGES to store as plastic won’t last long in the environments, PELI CASE. Are ok but not long
Packout's locking/mounting system is the only one that is easy build your own with wood and metal.. I wanted a cheaper set for personal use so I could not get my Packouts muddy,, I got the Ridgid.. NO ONE takes responsibilty for the Ridgid,, NOT home Depot, NOT Ridgid and Keter (the actual mfg.) is HORRIBLE to deal with.. I wish I would have just bought a second Packout roller to take to the junkyards and get muddy..
I don´t doubt their stuff is quality made. I am sure they use good quality plastic as well but the problem is just like with any type of plastic this stuff will get brittle in ca. 10 years and it will fall apart in 30 years. I know that 30 years is a long time but there are still tools boxes and stuff from over 30 years ago which you can use today. Like the great collapsible Zarges alu boxes from the 70´s. Maybe in 10 years we will have 3D printers who can print those sizes and in the quality needed.
I will never understand why shop people buy packout. Spending thousands of dollars to not even get the full benefit out of something will never make sense to me
I wish I would buy this overpriced plastic. I bought a set like this from a retired guy who was moving down south for $175 bucks and I got 6 pieces to. They are well built but still plastic which is overpriced just because Milwaukee is printed on it.

I came across some Klien Tools stackable drawer boxes and the quality along with price is better imo than Milwaukee drawers. The high price of Milwaukee is getting outrageous. But that red wall of Milwaukee looks great next to my OmniWall System in my shop.

2:14 hey Matt, love new channel, congrats btw-sorry late; & just saw this nice tad bit AND WANT ONE, of course….right lol.
Ex. Watching a good vid on 3d printers and setting up for ppl in trades to mod our tools etc….and that a rabbit hole lt me tell you sir! Ugh…..after 3 hrs and many vids in, I still lost on what to do 🤦🏼 😂
Ok, thx for this vid, great info and w/ your energetic “energy” you give us all.
Cheers✌🏻
Hello. Where can I buy these inserts? Especially for Milwaukee 5in1 ty so much
Nice review Matt👍
Thanks! 👍
I’d LOVE the insert for the installation driver and detail sander. Is there any where to buy them if I don’t have a 3D printer?
Yes, you can find them on Etsy.
@@TheOutlawEffect yeah. But for $75 just for one insert (not with the pack out) I may as will just buy my own 3D printer.
@@Wqiuyr1235and that will be a good picking)
Milwaukee Packout is the best I've seen. Don't own ANY because I can't justify the cost. Unfortunately your content has only reinforced my jealousy. I am well aware of what will happen if I buy 1 or 2 Packouts...I'll keep buying and end up spending $1k or more. The thought of the possible outcome makes me sick :). Thanks for sharing
What name toolbox set up is that behind you
Husky from Home Depot. It's their Hutch. But I think that it's no longer available online.
Milwaukee has ALWAYS sought out the innovative option. They want to be the company that says “yes, we have something for that”
Maybe their impact isn’t “as good as” the flex, but for the soul reason of their ingenuity and drive to make things that work in unison I will always go with them.
Seriously, it’s like they look at a process done by hand and think “yeah we can make a tool for that” then drop it. Even if they’re 2nd or even 3rd in the line up I’ll still role with them for that reason alone.
Spending extra money for quality stuff is never overpriced. If you think its overpriced you dont understand quality over just like everything else
Didn’t know you had a second channel .
I don’t see a link for the m18 track saw holder foam insert…where can I get that? It looks like a paerfect option for the XL packout tool box.
That insert comes with the track saw if you purchase it with the kit.
Very helpful , thank you.
Sadly the 3d printed insterts don't hold up to summer heat in a truck bed, even with a good bed cover i've had every one i've tried deform
Packout is not cheap, but it's the best out and it works....and Red has a ton of options for all kinds of applications....and no I'm not a fanboy sellout.....I use what WORKS
I have packouts for tools that often get thrown in to truck but for stuff that mostly stays in shop Dewalt tstak is like half price and way lighter.
I tried 3d, however it got soft when I put it in my vehicle summer time😂
Where did you get the Arkansas State Police plate?
It was mine when I was a trooper. Was a trooper for 13 years before leaving to go full time on TH-cam in 2021.
@TheOutlawEffect what troop where you with? And you known it already, but ASP are head and shoulders above the rest. Have a friend who is the commander of Troop J. Thanks for your service.
@@thepitpatrol I was in Troop F my whole career. Started as a dispatcher there in 2006. Went to Troop School in 2008 and was stationed there until I left in 2021. Loved it! It was very difficult leaving but felt God was calling me to do other things.
The rolling base is junk in my opinion.
.
If possible, think we need some type of adapter that allows mixing and matching of the various box systems.
That would be awesome, maybe a Milwaukee PackOut/ToughBuilt StackTech collaboration maybe? A boy can dream…lol!
you need, but they dont. what for they will do it? for you go and buy cheaper roller and stack packout boxes on it? they need you to buy all the stuff from one brand, that the patent is for.
if i were them i would definitely did some things to prevent mixing and matching. nothing personal, just business))
I am waiting for tough built.
milwaukee all the way nice review
Thanks 👍
Ahem, Stanley enters te chat, rolling in their modular stack system from the year 2000.
Good video 🤛
Thanks
Wish 3D printing would be fast cheap and big enough to just print those.
Great video! Just a random question, you mentioned your 3d printer.. what brand/ model of 3d printer do you have, I'm in the market for one... thanks from 🇨🇦 !
It's the Bambu Lab X1C. I got a review of it here th-cam.com/video/TmrF7RNLNCs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1ITK5Gvw6-SfQtaq

Great video, subd
Thanks for the sub!
Why would you print the bins in red...red on red with red tool in them ....clever....
because I can and wanted to.
@@TheOutlawEffect This is the dumbest answer ever ...
Where do you get your shirts?
most come from Kerusso.com
Kerusso is right up the street from me. Good company, good people, GREAT message.
Hmm, now you have me thinking...
Milwaukee needs to make a small dolly for the single packout
please let me know what 3D printer you have - didnt get a chance to watch the whole video had to go to work. Might watch later... perhaps you say in the video.
Bambu Lab X1 Carbon (review on the channel)
I like the dolly but figure I could build something much nicer and more customized for cheaper.
I dam did the same thing wish i wouldn't have Klein is better im a electrician 😂
It’s fan boy plastic , I use Milwaukee tool for twenty 5+ years , I use ZARGES to store as plastic won’t last long in the environments, PELI CASE. Are ok but not long
I soof all my packout and went Klien mod box
Does this man work or just collect tools
Prob the latter
Packout's locking/mounting system is the only one that is easy build your own with wood and metal.. I wanted a cheaper set for personal use so I could not get my Packouts muddy,, I got the Ridgid.. NO ONE takes responsibilty for the Ridgid,, NOT home Depot, NOT Ridgid and Keter (the actual mfg.) is HORRIBLE to deal with.. I wish I would have just bought a second Packout roller to take to the junkyards and get muddy..
Fanboy !
😂👍
I don´t doubt their stuff is quality made. I am sure they use good quality plastic as well but the problem is just like with any type of plastic this stuff will get brittle in ca. 10 years and it will fall apart in 30 years. I know that 30 years is a long time but there are still tools boxes and stuff from over 30 years ago which you can use today. Like the great collapsible Zarges alu boxes from the 70´s.
Maybe in 10 years we will have 3D printers who can print those sizes and in the quality needed.
My wife hates when I say Packout.
Actually rigid was first.
Tough built ain’t built for zero temps
the damn inserts cost as much or more than the actual packout box
🤷♂️
Milwaukee is the Toyota of this game! There will only be runner ups.
I will never understand why shop people buy packout. Spending thousands of dollars to not even get the full benefit out of something will never make sense to me
I have money to buy tools or money to buy packout type storage. Not both. Therefore, my tools are transported in 5 gal buckets
Because of wall storage, rolling drawers, tool organization. Everything I talked about in this video. Also, my shop my rules 😂
@@TheOutlawEffect not saying you can’t buy it, I just don’t understand it myself.
I wish I would buy this overpriced plastic. I bought a set like this from a retired guy who was moving down south for $175 bucks and I got 6 pieces to. They are well built but still plastic which is overpriced just because Milwaukee is printed on it.
Nicely paid commercial from Milwaukee.
😂 I wish they'd pay me!
It is literally a crime to not disclose that you're being paid or were given the product for a review.
I generally like your videos but those ridiculous bug eyed thumbnails are really annoying
Hard to take anything seriously with that sky daddy shirt on 🤦
Have you ever done your own research to find out the truth? This guy did: th-cam.com/video/67uj2qvQi_k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qwNeoc1Rrfwq-DuA&t=610
“walk by faith and not by sight”. yes, because belief systems are so much better than science and reality. ridiculous.
You came here to insult his beliefs and somehow try to disassociate the Christian faith from the pursuit of truth via science? You do realize the man is reviewing tool storage systems? Did you have a comment to share about the video’s content or are you a simple knit picker?
@@chrism5859 Christian faith IS the disassociation from the pursuit of science - that's kinda the whole point. but i'm sorry, snowflake, is the first amendment only a right when it's something you subjectively apply it to?
I hope you change your heart before it’s too late.
