is Being a Swedish man black man or korean woman working for all sides in a war to make a buck where your mission choices affect the war up your alley?
God, I love Battle Brothers so much. There's not much more satisfying than walking into a necrosavant camp with a bunch of battleforged armor heavy tanks and watching their cleavers bounce off of you. It's so rewarding after having to run like hell from them in the early game
I foolishly accepting a contract to do Immortal Sun/Ring quest as my second contract for the company....to kill 7 Necrosavant. Now there's no more company.
I've played this game few dozen times and i want to share few tips: 1. Shield and spear are extremely strong early game 2. always equip your guys (or brothers as they're called in game) head protection, even a piece of cloth is useful as they will stop one shot decapitation 3. always bring a dagger to each of your brothers, as they have an attack mode where you can stab your enemies without damaging and broke your adversaries's armours and hopefully you can loot the armour after battle as armour cost a fortune to buy 4. quicksave a lot, trust me (edit) 5. High ground is good
Also expect the unexpected sometimes I doing escort merchant of 2 star difficulty got ambush by 3 Necrosavant and pretty much lost the all or again 3 geist is mostly anoyying if you don't have morale or sergeant guy
@@dukeakram9186if there’s a fight I don’t think I can win or one I don’t think I can win without losing half of my guys, I retreat. Discretion is the better part of valor.
I have played this game on and off over the years and can highly recommend it, but I will say that it can be very merciless and it does not give a single shit about your survival. So, through trial and error, you can adapt and overcome the odds and become a legend. Or fail horribly and die a terrible death.
I love how much as of a real mercenary experience it has, you can do everything right, every right decision and still be unlucky and die just like that, a couple of bad roll from the dice and you are gone.
I totally understand your love of the immersive Mercenary experience. I'm the same way with playing as a farmer or hunter living off the land. For some reason in RPGs where you can be anything and everything I like to focus and get really deep into one role. Luckily for me, there are quite a few farming-based games but it's rough out there for quality bounty hunter experiences. I think you've already got it with heavily modding Skyrim to turn it into a bounty hunter experience; other than that red dead online is the only other game that has fun radiant bounty hunting.
Shadow of the Horned Rat is one of the first Mercenary Company simulators that I can think of. Being that it's a game released in the early 90's it is limited in graphical fidelity but it does let you roam the warhammer world, take contracts, build up your army and choose to ignore the main story so you can do the whole wandering mercenary band thing.
I actually just played the legacy mod for the first time yesterday for Battle Brothers and went as a Seer. My character is called Palpatine and I just spam chain lightning. Love to see a video on this game!
very comfy battle brothers is such a great game... sometimes very frustrating though but thats kinda the charme also what really helped me is using retreat as an option is not always that bad. keeps me from either loosing too many of my brothers or safescamming
I have played more hours of Battle Brothers then any other game in my life. Literally my favorite game of all time. All I want is more DLCs or a sequel.
I discovered this game about two years ago and I was instantly addicted. Please make more videos playing this game! There aren't enough entertaining people posting playthroughs of this game!
As someone who’s thinking of buying the game, should I buy now or wait for a discount and get it with all the DLC’s for cheaper? Are the DLC’s a game changer and a must?
@Bruno Santos game is more than worth it full price, dlcs are as well, but if money is tight wait for a sale. I got this game on sale a few years back not sure if I'd like it, and it ended up being my favorite game ever. If you can only have one DLC take blazing deserts or warriors of the North. Both change the game in big ways but blazing deserts is like an entire expansion. This game has an insane degree of storytelling, random events and replayability. Highly recommend
I think you could say that games like Kenshi could be easily played with the mercenary playstyle, due to the fact that it is your own story and character that drives what you do in the game and so bounty hunting could become a big part of your game in Kenshi. Bastard Bonds could also be a game that you can play as a Mercenary. And also in Stellaris I believe you could technically be a mercenary race of aliens basically the way you help defend the galaxy is through mercenary enclaves
In Harebrained Schemes BATTLETECH, you lead a mercenary company during a intersterllar civil war - there is a plot and your characters has stakes in it, but during (or even after!) the main campaign you can take up contracts for whoever pays you to fight their wars.
IMHO I like MW5 better for its first person view, but I always played it in 3rd person for better situation awareness. Never loaded up Battletech once MW5 came out.
I agree! Battle brothers is an amazing mercenary company game. I also want to mention 'Kenshi'. Man kenshi is also very punishing if you play as intended (no exploit). It does have battle brothers feeling into it.
[0:20] another good mercenary game is Wartales! I think it's similar to battle brothers, but I haven't actually played battle brothers so take that with a grain of salt. It's also a mercenary management sim in a massive open world map with turn based combat and boss fights. You can take up jobs to hunt down outlaws and war refugees or side up with them and fight against the law enforcers
I played both games. Both are great but battlebrother is more hardcore snd unforgiving. In wartales after 3 months your merc are already pretty good. In battlebrother after a year still everything can kill you horribly if you do 1 mistake.
ive had that game since it first dropped on early access all those years ago, never regretted the purchase. Definitely recommend it to anyone that doesnt have it and likes this genre!
Speaking of mercenaries and bounty hunters, WHEN ARE WE GETTING THE SKYRIM BOUNTY HUNTER SERIES BACK, the silver hand must be brought down by the GOLDEN FIST
I see a lot of similarities between this game and Mount and Blade, of course the 2D and turn-based combat are the biggest differences, but noneless i think i'll give it a try after seeing this video!!!
I badly want Battle Brothers. But I seem to never have the spare budget for it. I'd be happy to see more videos of it from you. Your characterization series are some of my faves to sit down and actually watch.
I think the thing I love most about this game is it mixes both medieval and high fantasy in just a nice balanced blind and make it very clear that you are just a group of guys
ayyyy like 30 seconds after I saw this in my notifications feed, before reading the vid's description, I told myself "huh I bet he'd like Battle Brothers"
It was wild if you were there for the older versions of legends. You could make a berserker that could punch an orc warlord to death. Legends is amazing. Also personally like to use PTR for more build variety, but it makes some late game fights more difficult lol
Huge fan of BB and glad to see coverage. On the permanent destruction option at the start its most def better to turn it off but turning it on is the only way to access a secretive legendary site: the undead necropolis. Only occurs if a town falls to the undead endgame crisis
Great tip to leveling new bros when you are high level: find a big group of barbarian thralls and go in with 1 or 2 frontline with the new guy and either have the noob run away or hang back to handle stragglers while the frontline clean up. Bros placed into reserves do not get any experience, so this increases to percent going to the noob
There's one game like this I played recently called war tales where you mostly hunt troublesome parties of warriors, but you can also raid caravans and explore ruins an fight the black plauge
This is the only game I have 1000 hrs in. A masterpiece. Do yourself a favor and by all dlc and get the legends mod. You will get a playthrough that will 100% blow up.
Mercenary fashion is just amazing. I saw a kettle helmet with a klappvisor which would he used my mercenaries since they wouldn’t want to buy a full helmet. Also they also wear a kettle helmet with a Bevor. So it has basically the same protection as a full helmet, but allowing you to hear and see the battlefield better. Something vital for foot combat. Plus both of these helmet combinations looks so much cooler than a Armet. I always found a brigandine and Gambeson looking so much better then full plate.
Heard the intro like yeah i am really into such things with mercs and preparing my chars. Saw the Battle Brothers thingy on the thumbnail before and thought uhh brother thats a dangerous path.
Can’t wait for the Starfield mercenary/bounty hunter playthroughs. Besides being a pirate or smuggler being a bounty hunter or mercenary is on top of my list when Starfield finally comes out
