Two things - The clear overlay is the way to go. Very clever. Clearly illustrates your explanation as you go. Much better than a through the scope view or pointing at a web page. It's unfathomable, only a couple of thousand views? WTH? Perhaps a reticle comparison video? Maybe add a large piece of paper with bold print or add graphics at the end to illustrate each key point, like the aim points are a bit sparse around areas of the Xmas tree, the .25 divisions instead of .20 etc... Very well done video, others would have taken triple the time and given less info. PLUS, you didn't make us look at your face for most of the video, no talking head, that's nice to see. The second thing is kudos on taking the time to respond to comments & questions, most don't bother.

Oh gosh, guys who make you stare at their face for .5 hours kills me, lol. Thanks for the feedback - I'm just getting started with content, so I'm hoping to eventually get there with graphics, text, etc. Thanks for watching, and thanks for taking time to comment with feedback! It helps a lot to know what people want in the future!

@@rothgyr4360 what do you think about the primary arms reticle like the HUD or the Griffin in particular for hunting. They’re in my $ range right now.

    • @rothgyr4360

Oof. I'm not a hunter, so I can't really give you good advice there. I know what I like for PRS, but for hunting, I have no experience to add there.

Forgot to mention, I responded to the huge clear reticle overlay in the thumbnail. I saw the hands in the picture for scale, that's why I clicked on it to check out the video.

I can see the benefit of the PR2 reticle for making quick shots to get hits on sizable targets, which is often the case in timed, competitive shooting. However, reticles with 2/10 mil holds would appear to allow a greater degree of precision when the targets are smaller and/or farther away and you have the benefit of more time to make the shot the best you possibly can. Every tool has it's use.

Well thank you for the information. I am not a long range shooter. I do have guns that will shoot long range. But I am into pcp's for a while. Day state red wolves and alfa wolf 25 to 100 yards. Would this scope work for me? Would I be able to see the small dot in the center at close range? I really want a scope with an electronic anti cant built into the scope. Thank you.

Hi thanks for demonstration.I want to get into prs but not sure what scope to get? I have tikkas and they are super accurate!.I just bought a tikka t3x tac a1 in 6.5. I will probably go production I guess.I am new to long range and would like to know if you would recommend the pr2 or tremor for prs and if one has an advantage over the other? The tremor seems complex as I am not sure yet how to use these reticles.I am watching you tube now to learn.Thank you very much!. I will send people your way.Great content so far.

Mk5 with the PR2 is a fantastic choice. Most of my shooting buddies use it and shoot better than I do. Used razor IIs are in that 1550 price range too. Mk5 is just about the perfect PRS scope. Most of the top shooters in the west are using it.
Thanks for watching, and I'm glad to help!

@@rothgyr4360 Thanks I really appreciate it!.A guy that I talked to who shoots prs mentioned a 7×35×56, but I don't know if that was the pr2 or not? The one I saw on line was a tremor I think and that reticle looked crazy busy! Do you think 5×25 is sufficient?I have shot tons of idpa all over east coast but never rifle competition.Looking forward to it.Thank you again.

    • @rothgyr4360

As far as reticles for PRS go, I strongly recommend the PR2 over the Tremor3, especially if you're beginning. The windage stadia are way easier to read on the PR2. I have a video on the Tremor3 if you want to learn how the wind dots work. For reference, my main scope is a USO FDN 25x with the JVCR reticle, which you could say the PR2 is a knock off of, lol. It's amazing for PRS.
Between 7-35x56 vs the 5-25x56, it doesn't matter too much. The 7-35 is longer, but realistically, most PRS shooters don't shoot any higher power than 18x. If you can get one cheaper than the other, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

@@rothgyr4360 does it make it harder to learn on the pr2 because I read it's in .25 mils instead of .2 mils like most other scopes I think? Can you range distances with this scope?I originally wanted to just learn the art of long range shooting by laying prone or over a bench etc..but being timed Like I did in idpa is where it becomes addicting and really fun.I will definitely learn much faster being around other shooters who do it all the time as opposed to learning it on my own.I am from pa on the east coast.I wonder if they have a prs course somewhere here?Anyway if you can help me in anyway to get started that would be awsome. You already helped me with a scope so if you can answer any more of my questions that would be great!.

Would you go with the 6x24 or the 8x32 for PRS? Really appreciate the feedback!!!

    • @rothgyr4360
      @rothgyr4360  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Most shooting in PRS is at 10-20x. The 8x32 would probably have the best eye box in that range. Theoretically. I think either ought to be good, but I'd check with someone who shoots Leupold scopes if you can

How do you feel about this reticle in their 3.6-18 lineup? I'm considering putting it on my MK12. I don't need super precise holds nor will I be dialing out to distances where I would need more wind holds in the early stages of the Xmas tree. I'd love to get your thoughts on this

I’ve got a 2-10 MK5 with the Illuminated TMR on a MK12 and I’m considering moving that scope to my 14.5 and getting the 3.6 with the PR2. I think it’s a winning idea
