Mazda CX-30 Skyactiv X 2.0 M Hybrid from 2021 with 180 PS and 224 Nm Top Speed on an unlimited strip of Autobahn being pushed to its limit.
This Mazda CX30 has a 2.0 (1998 cc (121.9 cu in)) 4 Cylinder Skyactive X Engine with 180PS (132 kW; 177 hp) at 6000 rpm and 224Nm (165 lbf⋅ft) at 3000rpm.
It is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox driving the front wheels.

A few more things
1) mileage at 200 Km/h with speed cruiser: 20L/ 100km (according to the computer). I could test it while driving back from Karlsruhe (Germany) to Strasbourg (France).
2) At 5500 all the way to 6500 you get a kick (gears 1 to 4). Possible explanation. until 5500 the power is fully controlled by the computer and delivered in a very linear way. I saw a video a while back showing that strange power curve from a bench they did.
3) 208 km/h at 6000 in gear 5. The Mazda 3 does not have that limitation. However the tires of the CX-30 are only validate for 210 km/h
4) The car doesn't hold 200 km/h in gear 6 most of the time. The new version of the engine should help with that.
5) at high speed (> 170km/h?) on German highway, Autobahn, the Mild-hybrid seems to be deactivated because each time I drive out of the highway, the battery is at max of its capacity. Yes there is a lithium battery below the passenger seat.
by the way, the new DS4 2021 will give a run for its money to the CX-30. Gorgeous and if the engines are good that will be the day. DS are the premium car for Peugeot-Citroen
great observation.
1. fuel consumption was high on the autobahn but not unusual for a petrol-powered car.

3. it felt good at 200 plus but it didn't have enough power to go much faster
4.yes every little hill will slow you down and you need to shift which is a bit annoying
5.I am not sure what the mild hybrid is doing in this car it might just be to run the internal electronics and not boost the power
I have been seeing more and more ds on german roads and I'm quite intrigued the designs are bold and exciting
DS4 is noticeably more expensive than Mazda.

How quiet/noisy would you say the car is? Was it mainly road noise/wind noise/engine noise?

They're actually very quiet, not much road noise.

No sadly we have not and will not get it. its a real shame, but all the new environmental laws make it not viable anymore for many manufacturers to bring their models to Europe. we are missing out on some cool cars

No, this was the FWD version.
The wet road clearly didn't help the 0-100 time, but sadly there was no dry road available that day.

That interior is impressively quiet according to the db-A values, which is a really nice touch by the way.
I just drove this car yesterday at the autobahn in Germany for the first time. It was smooth and smooth can be but (as expected because of physics...), at great speeds the mileage becomes horrible. I did a small experiment drove one way on the right lane only at 90ish km/h for about 400 km and the car used less than 5L/100km! Then I did a few hundred km and whenever possible pressed it to 180 km/h ish. It used a good 3x more gas for the same distance 😅😅

If is 2021 the Skyactiv-x should be 186 hp
It looks like in America you get the 2.5 l engine with 186hp in Europe we only get 2.0 engines and the highest hp version has 180

I live in Canada, if i were to drive this car or any vehicle over 150 km i would lose my license and my car would be impounded.
German drivers are excellent drivers once they pass the driver schooling and training system. But it is not easy, the combined failure rate for theory and practical tests could be up to 75%. That filters out a lot of idiots on the road.
To bad it's not a "real" 2021 skyactive x with 186HP and 240Nm :(

@@TopSpeedBrothers Belgium was the first in EU to offer new Skyactive-X. Now it's avaliable anywhere, even here in PL. Go to mazda website and check it out. Also there is a rumor that old generation of Skyactive-X will receive SPIRIT 1.1 update which will increese HP and Nm. There are even comparsion videos on YT but only in JP. It's not confirmed yet if it will be avaliable for EU customers.

I read about it on one of forums and You can find some info using google and typing "SPIRIT 1.1" (only in japanese but can use translation feature to understand the common sense). Can't find anywhere any review of new skyactive-x engine, they are avaliable on mazdaz online configurator thou... It's not much but it would be nice to have 6HP and 16Nm extra...

The top speed I limited you can really feel how the car hits the limiter. Also this isn’t a turbo engine.
Yea this engine for sure does not have 180 hp in reality, it seems way slower than the 150 TSI for example.
