Some people don't like the width of bar-style handguards. Personally, I have med-longer fingers so it doesn't bother me. I have all sizes and the BCM is really small for me.

It’s either this or the Midwest handguard SP version. It’ll take a 1.5 suppressor as well. I have it on a 5.56 build.
Is this worth double the price of the regular Aero?
The Aero enhanced upper and handguard are my goto for most all my builds it's a bomb proof design and the fact you can tuck a suppressor under it is a winner in my book, but that's just my preference. Will the enhanced hand guard accommodate a gas piston system? Love the kitty.
I don't think the enhancing guard can be used with a piston style system. But for a better direct answer to that question I would recommend that you call Aero Precision themselves their technical support will help you answer this question more completely than I can. Rumor Has It Aero Precision is coming out with some AR-15 piston system complete upper receivers I'm hoping that will be true 😁. You can use it with a Superlative arms piston.

Maybe the cat can help me figure out all of the m4E1 configurations. I'm stuck in the rabbit hole right now between the handguard options and the upper options.
My personal preference is the M4E1 Enhanced. With that being said I also use the M4E1 threaded version of the upper as well. The threaded version gives you more options for using other manufacturers handguards. How do you torque the barrel nut without damaging the upper receiver?

Maybe I ordered the wrong one but my screws aren’t lining up and offset. The hand guard is lower than the receiver rail

Do you think the gen one is better or the gen two?

Can that receiver be lapped like a standard receiver?
It can be lapped but requires a specialized machined lapping tool. A lapping tool for a threaded upper has a larger "OD/outside dimension" that will not fit into the enhanced M4E1 or M5E1 receiver. Just ordered a upper/hand guard combo.Does the kit come with the barrel nut? Or do I have to go find a enhanced specific nut?
Sorry for the delay in my response. Your upper receiver for the M4E1 enhanced will come with the barrel nut.
What did you torque the screws at ?
25 inch pounds with my Wheeler Fat Wrench and those torque specs are what I got from Aero Precision Tech Support. Thanks for stopping by Brother 👊
I have a AP Quantum handguard sitting ready to be used. Anyone know by chance will that guard fit on this upper??

Hey man I just got mine in and neither the receiver or handguard had the screws to attach the upper to handguard which did ur screws come in?
They will be in the box with the handguard. Pull all the packing materials out of the box, screws should be located inside the cardboard insert in a blue zip lock type littlebag, If they are missing call Aero Precision on Monday and they will send you new ones at no charge.
I build my first AR 15 pistol with the M4E1 lower and M4E1 enhance upper and not liking it so much now. I wanted to replace the upper with the Atlas One-R handguard, but apparently they're not compatible. Anyone know of a handguard out there that will fit the M4E1 enhanced upper?
I went the same route and ended up getting the m4e1 threaded upper because I liked the Atlas series so much and I wanted a thinner rail. I couldn’t find a Handguard that was compatible with the enhanced upper
@@bpetter7 That's what I want to do. Don't think the Quantum rails did well with Aero. I was new to ARs then.. didn't consider or know about limitations of the enhanced.
@@bpetter7 I just went to Aero's site and they have the M4E1 Gen 2 enhanced handguards. I have the 9" Quantum hg and it weights 8.8 oz, the same 9" Gen 2 enhanced hg weighs 7.2 oz selling for $115. Debating if it's worth it to swap out?
Why don't you like it and why do you want the atlas? I like the clean line of the rail going all way across.
The enhanced handguard with the M4E1 upper receiver is essentially a polylithic design (Similar to the VLTOR VIS and Seekins IRMT), where the handguard is attached to the upper receiver as opposed to the barrel nut. These designs are the strongest methods of attaching a handguard to your AR. If you want stronger, then you'd have to go monolithic (e.g. Colt Canada MRR/IUR, LMT MRP).

It's a black anodized finish. And the handguard is a 12in. in length ... The M4E1 Lower Receiver delivers billet aesthetics in a forged package. This custom designed enhanced forging is machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum and compatible with all mil-spec AR15 parts. Aside from the visual upgrades this custom engineered design provides that challenge much more expensive billet options, Aero Precision have added several functional features to the lower receiver to simplify the assembly process for the at home builder.
M4E1 Lower Receiver Improvements:
Threaded Bolt Catch Roll Pin - Allows for simple installation of the bolt catch and virtually eliminates the chance to damage the finish during installation (pin included). 1/16" Hex Key required for assembly.
Integrated Trigger Guard - Eliminates the possibility of breaking the trigger guard tabs by integrating the trigger guard into the lower, creating a stronger more rigid platform to build upon.
Upper Tension Screw - Allows users to fine tune the fit of the upper and lower receiver using a nylon tipped tensioning set screw inserted in the grip tang of the lower receiver. This provides a tight fit with any standard AR15 upper receiver.
Threaded Takedown Pin Detent Recess - Allows user to easily install the Takedown Pin detent and spring with the use of a 4-40 set screw (no more launching detents across the room).
Increased Magwell Flare - Increased the flare of the magwell to aid in quick and efficient magazine changes.
Marked and milled to accept short-throw safety selectors, but will work with standard selectors as well.

Things like, when you hold that upper you can tell it is made better than other uppers. Or it may look better but in reality it’s just an upper. Or a lower..the things I can’t read or convey because I am not holding one yet

The M4E1 enhanced upper receiver in this video works with that handguard only. They do make an Aero Precision M4E1 threaded upper receiver that will take any handguard that comes with a threaded barrel nut. Hope this helps.

Is the lug for the handguard removal?
The answer would be no. The M4E1 enhanced upper receiver is a one-piece design combining the handguard mounting platform with the upper itself. Through superior engineering, Aero Precision has condensed the parts needed to mount a free-floated handguard to a mere 8 screws. Since the handguard mounting surface and upper are of the same forging. However they do make a M4E1 Threaded Upper Receiver. I do believe that is what you're looking for.
