I have a tip for you. I learned many years ago that if you take the bird and lay it on it's back. Spread the wings open and put your feet on each side of the body on the wings and grab the legs and pull everything will come out with the legs and you are left with the breast attached to the wings. It works 90 percent of the time with any bird. The sooner you do it after you shoot it is better

Get in the habit of washing your hands everytime you touch uncooked meat, specially poultry, before you touch anything else in the kitchen. I'm a microbiologist and I can assure you that cross contamination Is real and can have catastrophic effects on the health of the people in your house hold. Or else wear a glove on one hand (meat hand) and keep the other hand clean to touch other surfaces. Keep on keeping on bro.
The good thing about doing videos is that he can (and probably did) edit out the 500 times he washed his hands in this video. Though it's hard to wash your hands during an active hunt so I understand that fear 😅

At 15:55 he handles the meat then immediately grabs the sauce bottle to pour some more in, one of many instances where having one clean hand would be ideal. I bet your answer is he edited out disinfecting the bottle before putting it back, but to that I say good on you for having that much faith in people. There is no "meat hand gate" conspiracy here, just a friendly reminder to a popular content creator.

Next time you clean birds, pick them completely, then filet the meat, skin and legs all in one piece. Season with salt and let sit for an hour to draw out moisture then finish seasoning with black pepper. Next, cold smoke on a tregar, then pull them off and crank the tregar to max. Once it's at 400 degrees, place the birds back on the grill and cook till medium rare. Do not cook past medium rare. They will be dry as sawdust and taste like liver.
I thought I was being tricky buying a Kukri to cut blind material and my man here pulls out the Black and Decker hedge trimmer. 🤪 Haven't gone duck hunting in a few years, even longer since I hunted that area. Unfortunately the guy I hunted with down there died in a car accident. He had the boat and the knowledge so haven't been back. Looks like a lot of fun!

You’re not wrong about wild game not having much fat. However, ducks have some of the most fat out of any game animals it’s in their skin. Next time pluck the feathers off the breast then cut out the breast when you cook the skin all the r fat renders out
