Steelers are the best fit. Stable, long term head coach who's system closely resembles what Wilson had in Seattle. A run first ball control offense along with a great defense. Last season the Steelers QB's combined for a whopping 9 TD passes and STILL MADE THE PLAYOFFS.!!!! Russ had 26 in Denver. If the Steelers could get that they could probably win the Super Bowl.

I think the Broncos are saying they made a mistake so bad that they have to take a year off from even trying to be competitive. Take the huge penalty and try to move and compete in 2-3 years. Hopefully.
Because of this the next CBA will have a cap percentage wise on guarantees as the owners will want to push for it. They will use this example as to why it's important! Ultimately, the players will want something in return if they agree to it!
I don't like Sean Payton, but he didn't make it sound like it was Russell Wilson's play. He just said the whole offense sucked and it was easier to get rid of Wilson. On the other hand, a new O-line may be cheaper!
Payton is going to be an absolute disaster in Denver. Reid still in the west and Harbaugh should have the Chargers competitive in a couple of seasons. Raiders might be mediocre but I do like Pierce. Denver KILLED their draft for years with these past two trades.
Best scenario, bears trade fields to the falcons for a second, trade back from 1 to 3 and get the patriots second too, draft mhj and Dallas turner in the first, Xavier from South Carolina or Coleman in the second and a safety and o lineman, and lastly sign Russell Wilson, instant Super Bowl contenders
Not A Russell Wilson fan, nor a Denver Bronco fan, but I'll be rooting for him to find a new team and have an MVP year. Don't think that all will happen, but I'll be rootin.
Looking back at the details of this trade, I think the Broncos made it worse for themselves by not just overpaying the Seahawks, but by also signing Wilson to that ludicrous contract before playing a single snap. Remember, when Wilson was traded to the Broncos, he was still playing under the $140M contract the Seahawks paid him back in 2019. The Broncos literally had 1-2 years to assess if Wilson was the right fit for them before deciding if they want to pay him. Instead, before Wilson even played a snap, the Broncos inked him to that ridiculous 5 years, $242.5M contract (probably out of desperation, since the Broncos has their own QB carousel problem) that kicks in TWO YEARS LATER. Yes, you read that right: Wilson's new deal takes effect this coming season, and the Broncos are already suffering major buyer's remorse. Honestly, this point is what stings the most for Broncos fans, cause with so much dead cap money in their books, they inevitably will have to move out core pieces just to get under the cap, which will affect their team cohesion for years to come. Losing the chance to draft Charles Cross, Devon Witherspoon and Boye Mafe was already bad enough, but not having the cap space to sign replacement pieces is the equivalent of getting a low blow after being knocked down hard.
The trade was not good, but the extension was a fireable offense. Then again, Paton would not have traded that much if he did not view Russ as a long term option. I still think the extension was worse than the trade itself.
@@snowman9642You are clearly not the brightest if you think that Paying a qb $40million dollars to NOT play for you is smart. They are literally paying him to play for another team, after giving up 5 picks for him, and deciding to start Jarrett Stidham 😂 As the video Implies, stupid move. Use your head kid.
Listen, as a Hawks fan I wasn't liking Russell in the way he was handling himself near the end of his stint in Seattle. But the way Denver did this was extremely stupid all the way around. You try to strongarm him out of money in a contract that you gave him while they were still in a good position to make the playoffs, when he has almost never missed playing time his entire career. Its dirty as hell and Russell didn't deserve that. Maybe now a team will get him really cheap and appreciate him a lot better than Denver did. They deserve their impending failure. Feel bad that Broncos fans have to be the ones to suffer the most from it considering now they have $84 million in dead cap. This is probably the worst way I've ever seen an organization handle a player considering how much they gave up for him.
Now, if Jerry and Stephen Jones were smart, they would sign Russell Wilson and let Dak stay as a backup this year and then let Dak test free agency next season
Patriots Raiders Vikings Falcons Saints Redskins Titans Steelers Are the teams where he would definitely be an upgrade over their current starter. But I see Patriots & Redskins drafting a QB. I like him going to either Vegas or Tenn
Your logic is wrong. Doesn't matter how much money he can save. Russell Wilson is playing horrible. You can't go to Super Bowl with him playing that bad! He said he won from Kansas City Chiefs, but the Chiefs went to playoffs and he didn't. Wilson is a problem not an answer. If you want to win, you need a good QB. Not save money getting a bad QB.
Making the assumption that cutting ol' Russ there is somehow an automatic benefit for any other team is idiotic. Ol' Russ there came across to me as a cringe machine the minute he showed up in Denver, and the whole "I have my own staff" thing just tells me that there is no real getting him on the same page as the rest of the team. This was like Chernobyl: A disaster waiting to go off.
The dishonesty, the lack of transparency, and the levels of nepotism from the Denver Broncos front office just surprises me, they completely mishandled this entire situation. I can’t believe they’re doing this to Russell Wilson, they shouldn’t have let go of Wilson’s own trainer or telling him to change his injury clause on his contract, they also shouldn’t have threatened to bench him if he dose’nt changed it. All of this is just wrong
As a Denver Broncos fan and resident I’m so sick and tired of watching my team rebuild and rebuild and rebuild only so the can start another rebuild yay
As a broncos fan this made me mad i liked russ the team as a whole needs work and the broncos say oh were looking for the future but your still paying russ contract like who replacing russ thats going to be an upgrade like your paying for him why not just go for round 3 im a life long broncos fan and im getting sick of these dumb decisons. At the end of the day its bc sean didnt like russ and was being petty cant wait to win zero games this season
The Only Mistake was that ridiculous '5 Year Contract Extension'. Wilson simply did not mesh with the Broncos. Now he 'might' mesh with some other team, but there's no guarantee. Personally I think Wilson over-rated and has an enormous ego, so he's unlikely to fit with Any Team. Now I could be Wrong about the last part, time will tell. But I'd give you 100:1 odds that he goes to some team, like the Raiders, and his performance is the same as it was for the Broncos. Which is to say he'll make some good plays but he won't win games consistently.
I dont think the Bronco need all new recievers or a completely different OL. Sad to see players getting scapegoated when Nathaniel the Hack or Matt Patricia is your offensive coordinator in the case of Mac Jones. Jacoby Brissett or a bridge QB isnt going to be better than Wilson. No chance to get passed Mahomes, Payton or not
I usually agree with your takes but I can't on this one. I know it's alot of money to eat but it's better to move on now then wait. Because you're not winning a superbowl with russ on that contract. Maybe somebody else can when he takes a vet minimum but you can't with the amount they paid. Denver screwed up. But better for them to rip the band aid off now
I’m not sure about this but I think what’s getting lost In bashing Denver for the extension is I think Russ had a no trade clause. He wasn’t going to a team that didn’t offer an extension. Again, I’m not 100% sure about the no trade clause.
Not even close. The most idiotic trade was the panthers giving the bears 2 first and 2 second round picks plus their best receiver they have had in many years for a rookie who was in last place in passing rating this past year and will most likely not get much better unfortunately.
This offseason is gonna be wild.

Pittsburgh is the best fit for Wilson. I don’t think the Steelers need to shop but that would be a good move😊
And maybe, the Jones' are maneuvering to sign Wilson, since they are not so quick to extend Dak...
Does Sean Payton have CTE? Cause he’s killing his legacy…
Dumb comment, Broncos were garbage last year. Payton is saving the broncos. Very dumb and unnecessary extension for Wilson.
Worse than that.
DNVR fans don't deserve that.
@@snowman9642You are clearly not the brightest if you think that Paying a qb $40million dollars to NOT play for you is smart. They are literally paying him to play for another team, after giving up 5 picks for him, and deciding to start Jarrett Stidham 😂
As the video Implies, stupid move.
Use your head kid.
@@78townand that trade had nothing to do with the extension they gave him.
Patriots
Raiders
Vikings
Falcons
Saints
Redskins
Titans
Steelers
Are the teams where he would definitely be an upgrade over their current starter.
To me there’s only 2 Teams that have a real chance of signing Russell Wilson Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Atlanta Falcons
Yup ... ugly, nasty, unprofessional, completely unacceptable. Dark. DNVR fans don't deserve this horror.
Denver ready to tank next year or two.. use draft to build young talented core, and then be in position to draft the next Manning in a couple years
As a Denver Broncos fan and resident I’m so sick and tired of watching my team rebuild and rebuild and rebuild only so the can start another rebuild yay
Looks like the Patriots are taking Drake Maye. And Cousins is expected to go to ATL.
Can’t wait to see what PERNA has to say about this.
Vikings’ Country: Let’s Skol!?
😝😜😁lololol!
RG3 was hall of fame material if the redskins management didnt mismanage his career
As a Chiefs fan, I'm glad Russ is out of Denver.. he got downgraded with them... Time to upgrade.
Wilson exit statement is pure cheese.
But better for them to rip the band aid off now
It doesn't matter what Denver does they almost always screw it up. Not Russel's Fault at all.
I want to see wilson go back to seattle for veteran minimum just for the laughs
I disagree with you about the Raiders situation. They only have one qb. They need to get a couple more. That’s their big need
I hope the steelers picking him up
I’m not sure about this but I think what’s getting lost In bashing Denver for the extension is I think Russ had a no trade clause. He wasn’t going to a team that didn’t offer an extension. Again, I’m not 100% sure about the no trade clause.
Mike in the suit looking good🤝🏾 amazing color
Not even close. The most idiotic trade was the panthers giving the bears 2 first and 2 second round picks plus their best receiver they have had in many years for a rookie who was in last place in passing rating this past year and will most likely not get much better unfortunately.
