Thanks for making the video
Great feel good video Mike! Hopefully Sam balls out all season
Bro it's crazy to think this is the same guy that gave us the infamous phrase "I'm seeing ghosts" (that was against a great Belichick defense). This is how you win in life, keep griding and don't give up on your dreams.
The irony is that Sam and KOC don't give a shit, but all the "expert" fans and analysts are the ones that believe in the ghosts, four year old ones.
Smart guy to recognize where the problem is. Some QB's keep doing the same ole thing and never get better.
Belicheck caused a lot of qb’s to see ghosts. Darnold was the only qb brave enough to say it out loud.
@@NoNameT2T4 Flores has made Purdy, Stroud and Love see ghosts these past three weeks, and Rodgers is old enough to be one.
I wanna say there was a black cat on the field that Thursday also
No one gave Sam darnold the memo that he was supposed to be the bridge QB. My man is fighting for his nfl career.
A QB fighting for his job with nothing to lose & everything to gain is a dangerous dangerous man
Only time will tell. Is he the next great qb or the next case keenum?
I respect it.
@@poaloguano5388Reminds me of 2016 at USC when he came in and changed their entire season.
finally the sam darnold video we all been asking for
I think you're the only one. Don't listen to Mike when he says everyone has been asking for a Darnold video.
Dude is dominating
Shouldn’t have to force someone to talk good abt somebody, it should come natural 😂. That’s like tryna force someone to be ur friend

Darnold was always going to be the starter. No matter how good JJ looked KOC always made it clear Darnold was QB1 this year so that they wouldn’t rush JJ into the starting role and he could really learn the offense
10:46 The narrative outside of the Vikings media/fanbase always seems to be “Darnold was never going to start if McCarthy stayed healthy” this isn’t the case and was never the case when Darnold was signed and JJ was drafted. Darnold would’ve remained the starter this season until his play made it impossible to keep him out there. KOC was never going to throw a rookie QB to the wolves on purpose, it wrecks their confidence.
Ikr it annoys me they signed darnold for a reason, I'm pretty sure they stated darnold would be the starting qb, McCarthy is not ready for the nfl
@@alextaylor8283 100%!! KOC knew before the season started
Thank you.
This is true, and I don't intend to argue with it, however, it is interesting to wonder if Darnold would be playing this well had McCarthy not gotten hurt. He walked into this season as the undisputed starter, he's not looking over his shoulder like he might have been had McCarthy not gotten hurt. Especially fora guy who's had issues with the mental part of his game, you can't help but wonder.
He definitely is the perfect bridge quarterback till JJ is ready
It’s nice to see darnold play well along with Baker and Geno. Hopefully those teams can go to the playoffs so we can have some fresh teams in the playoffs
Let eagles, cowboys and packers watch from the couch
It’s almost like being drafted to a shit team stunts your growth
Food for thought
He has always had potential but he played for the jets
Sam Darnold has always been good and as a Jets fan I was mad that the organization failed him. It’s amazing to see him make a rebound and ball out 💯
if the vikings make it to the NFC championship, they have to resign darnold! idc if JJ is the future, he gotta just sit and learn for 2-3 more years.
We have a VERY tough decision to make. Which is a good thing being how our QB history has been ASS lmao💜💛💜💛💜💛 life is great at a vikings fan rn. Our biggest super bowl window is right now. We have one of the DEEPEST rosters in the NFL and guess what, next year we will have 150 mil something in cap space to ABSOLUTLEY LOAD UP. We will have success no matter if JJ or Darnold is our starter long term. WE SET UP FOR DOMINANCE💛💛💜💛💜💛💜💛💜💜💜💛💜💜💜💜💜💛💛💛💛
@@RyanatorMusic honestly sucks that we had to let go Hunter though but we are still elite defensively I like the vanginkle addition 🔥🔥💎
@thecoolrich If the Vikings had paid Hunter, they wouldn't have had the money to sign all of their other defensive free agent acquisitions this season.
Highly doubt they will make it to NFC ship game. Still early in the season.
@@cancel.lgbtq.6892 I don’t think there’s a team in the nfc right now that can beat them, atleast through the first 3 games
When Hockenson comes back the Vikings might have an even greater cast to throw to then the 1998 Vikes who had two HOF wide receivers in Chris Carter and Randy Moss, a great third wideout in Jake Reed and a great receiving back in Robert Smith. Darnold has future HOFer in Justin Jefferson, Jordan. Addison, and Jalen Nailor with Aaron Jones in the backfield and TJ Hockenson who already holds season records for Vikings tight ends.
Same Darnold happy to see his talents finally get to be shown on film display
Him being with the niners was an eye opening experience! Imagine you go from first level to the last level and seeing both difference’s! With that info he leaned in for another opinion and that was most likely Brock! Happy for Sammy D! ⚡️
Correction. Darnold was set to start regardless of Mccarthy health.
1 mill on each channel is happening the last weekend of Sept 2024. Congrats to our boy Mike!!
I've been watching since less than 10k subs and you deserve both channels to hit this huge milestone.
I love when a guy a team gave up on has a comeback story for a different team. It really puts it into perspective when we think of "busts" and "stars".
Even as a Packers fan I'm happy for Darnold .....he never stood a chance to reach his full potential with situations he was put in with the Jets and Panthers
I kept trying to tell people Sam wasn't a bust just wasn't given the pieces needed to succeed. Jets sucked with him, Panthers were the Panthers, and being benched behind other people doesn't help, he went from one poor situation to another. Sam was never being given any weapons or good offensive lines or good coaches, very few quarterbacks could win without those, if any. A quarterback cant save a team 95% of the time, its called a team for a reason. People called me crazy for saying this up until this year, look who's laughing now
The only team I’d say that it helped him being the backup was last season and experiencing everything it takes to make a SB appearance
@@smnbrgss He actually played ok at the Panthers, but no one was watching (he went 8-9 over 2 seasons). The 49ers stint just added another layer, and KOC, and the Vikes OL, and weapons just raised that another level.
None of these analysts are aware that in 2022 Darnold's throws on target were 77% because this was hidden by his completion rate of only 58% - because of drops, tips, throwaways etc.
Kirk's accuracy rate in 2022 was 76.5% but he went 13-4 with a 66% completion rate.
So Sam has been throwing just fine for 3 or 4 years - just no-one noticed.
you're crazy! HAHAHA!
@robe2504 i mean I get what your saying about accuracy but is the way the judge the accuracy vs drop rate correct and really hiding what you say or was Kirk's accuracy actually better and darn old was throwing drops in ways the accuracy metric cannot fully explain.
@@hickstylez Unless we do the data collection ourselves I guess we have to trust that the agencies judge every player the same. I guess there is also a point that some players potentially throw a more catchable ball than others, but that seems pretty subjective, and situational. For example, Sam had to rocket that short TD into Mundt in triple coverage, but he flighted the Addison TD vs the Packers beautifully, and there didn't seem to be anything wrong with the two throws that Jettas dropped vs the Packers.
Then there is the eye test, and after watching all of Darnold's games at the Panthers, the thing I noticed consistently was how well he threw the ball, and how many great throws he made. If anything he was forcing balls into tighter windows because his WRs like Terrace Marshall, and TEs like Ian Thomas weren't getting as open as the Vikes WRs, and DJ Moore was nearly always doubled.
So, a valid question, but the opposite might even be true.
Also, drops were only one metric, the batted balls, spikes and throwaways also contaminate the completion rates but are excluded in accuracy. Once all of those are discarded, the remaining throws are categorised as on target or bad throws. Sam's bad throw percentage is almost identical to Kirk and Rodgers, and they're both way better than Rodgers this season.
Skol!
that throw to jettas was different the air and location of the throw was perfect literally couldn’t have been a better ball not many NFL QBs can make that pass
Sam Darnold found his home. He has been playing lights out for our Vikings. KOC knew him since he was still playing in High School. KOC is from Carlsbad City in San Diego County and Sam was from San Clemente Island, Orange County, is just few miles away. Being living in San Diego Country myself, I'm very proud to see both of them in the same team. This is been the best year ever so far for our team. Thanks to KOC, B-Flo and the rest of the Coaching staff and Kwesi. Kwesi put together an elite team players. GO VIKINGS...
Vikings fans did not expect McCarthy to play before November. Our coach and his staff made it clear Darnold would be the starter this SEASON barring injury, and Nick Mullens was always the primary backup. KOC stated in the summer JJ had plenty of checks to mark before moving up the depth chart.
Many MN fans were prepared for Darnold to legit succeed here. He is exceeding everyone’s expectations no doubt, but we had a lot of hope for him to turn things around here. The only people truly caught off guard by his ascension is the major media pundits, and the tier of content creators making videos like these.
Super happy for Sam and the Vikings.
Anyone paying attention to the Vikings knew Sam was going to start no matter what.. JJ was always going to sit for atleast half the season
Thank you. I keep posting this same statement on all videos that state otherwise
Jets , Browns , Jags , Bears and Panthers are where QB career go to die.
And vikings
From a Vikings fan, Sam Darnold was going to start this season even if JJ McCarthy was healthy. KOC wasn’t going to rush him, he wants to build him. SKOL
Sam Darnold leading the Vikings to an undefeated season so far is wild! But is it sustainable long-term, or will teams start figuring him out as the season progresses? Could Darnold be the real deal, or is this just a lucky stretch?
The only thing that I didn't like was how you mentioned that McCarthy being hurt is why Darnold got the starting job. O'Connell made it clear that Sam would be our starting QB to start the season. At most, it just took away any pressure of people cheering for McCarthy to come in if Sam underperformed.
The man is finally on a competent team, and balling out like it’s usc
Darnold was never trash, but this league isn't patient. Wilson was trash and they were too patient with him 😅
Ehh he played for the jets brother
I'm a Bears fan, but happy to see these comeback players like Sam Darnold and Geno Smith.
That’s right a little respect and love for the USC Alumni . 👍
As a Vikings fan I couldn’t be happier that we got Sam Darnold at the time. Didn’t have to pay Kirk all that money and Darnold was the best FA option out there especially since he spent a whole season with the Niners. I didn’t expect this from him at all but I said before the season he just needs to be a good qb making smart plays, no turnovers and we’d win games.
As a Vikings fan, let’s go baby
I’m a Vikes fan and I don’t think anyone was dogging on Darnold. At least not the levels you are insinuating. We are excited about JJ McCarthy, but we knew we had a potential solid filler at the QB spot.
So glad its my team and coach who is saving sam’s career!!!
Darnold finally has someone to throw to and amazing hes actually pretty good lmfao
As a lifetime 58 year old Minnesotan. We have something special I believe here. Might not be this year, but the window is extremely open for the next several years. I want one before I die.
I’d say comfortably 5-10 year window, seeing that there’s now been several 35-40 year old QBs, optimistically close to 15-20. Either way the NFC North is shaping up to be a gauntlet for the rest of the league this upcoming decade.
I’m happy for him. Everyone wrote him off and now he’s doing great. Such an awesome story
Actual Vikings fans aren't nearly as surprised as wider media and pundits.
Elite tackles, the best receiver in football, a top running back, one of the best offensive playcallers who's also a QBs best friend, these were all things we knew. The only unknown was Darnold himself but even then, we all felt he'd have had to be really bad if he doesn't succeed.
He was also always expected to start week 1 for what it's worth, and it was 50:50 among the fanbase about whether we thought he'd start the whole season regardless of results or if McCarthy would take over after the bye.
I love seeing this I wasn’t a fan of darnold he’s 27 and in his prime and he’s found it. Some guys do some don’t when he starts to screw up that’s when we’ll see how good he is, how he can overcome that?
Darnold is the most Viking looking qb I have seen in my lifetime.
I hope he suceed, I do not like Vikings but man it is good to see him play the way he is 💪
This is a trend that happens quite a bit across the league
Im rooting for this guy and geno Smith.
Hopefully they have succes and teams around the NFL start thinking outside the box instead of feel hostage of a medium table QB because of the fear of not having " anything better".
All this middle row QBs getting paid as top players is insane and hinders teams to really contruct and compete.
Salary for this dudes is crazy this days.
Darnold is doing all this for 10 mil.
He never gave up. Played on crappy jets and panthers teams. Learned a year in SF. 😅Good for Sam.
As a Viking fan I'm so glad you called out many FRAUDS in our fanbase. They were calling Sam this and that now they are all on his Johnson. Now the same fanbase crying for Media attention and respect when they had none all off season, Thank You for saying what I been saying all season our fanbase so FAKE!!!
This shows that the league is impatient and they need to get some patience back ASAP! The fans as well!
Darnold was never terrible but he’s been in terrible situations from an organization standpoint and never really developed properly given he’s younger than Joe!
I think this goes to show just how good of a coach KOC is. I’d say he’s definitely a top 5 coach in the league
Came here from the Mikerophone short teasing the idea that TB 12 was going to swoop in and 'save' MN - now they're 4-0.
I’m a huge Jets fan and I got my Christmas in April when they drafted Sam Darnold. I don’t remember the last time I was so ecstatic about a player the Jets drafted. It ended for me in bitter disappointment but the organization around him was a dumpster fire. Teams like the Bears should take note: it is the skill people, offensive linemen and the coaches whom surround the QB and put him and the team in the best position to succeed as long as the QB has the talent and work ethic to succeed. Jim Finks who was GM for the Vikings, Bears, Saints believed in building the team around the QB. That’s what they did in Minnesota. It doesn’t hurt that Darnold can be deadly accurate given time to throw. I hope he has great success going forward. I just wish it could’ve been with my Jets
Been waiting for this one, I’m a jets fan raised between minnesota and WI so I’m j blown away by darnold and us having Rodgers
4-0 LETS GO VIKINGS!! EVERYONE IS SLEEPING ON THE VIKINGS!!!
4-0 BABYYYYYYY🤘🏽😈🔥🙌🏽
As a Jets fan, I truly never believed Sam was the problem. I'm rooting for him. He's a great player, always has been.
Kevin O Connell is just a great QB whisperer
We have a good head coach and he’s in a good situation now
The Jets have been “a quarterback away” for decades, or so the saying goes.
Nah McCarthy getting injured didn’t give darnold his chance. KOC had come out and said that darnold was starting week 1. It was always gonna be darnold for atleast the first few weeks
Wouldn’t be surprised if Vikings finished ahead of GreenBay & Detroit
I love a good comeback story! 🏈
It’s only a couple of good games, it’s not even a story yet. Let him have one full successful season before we start talking about a comeback story. 🤦🏾♂️
@@cjjohnson3827 come on, man!
@1:40 skip the fluff
The Panthers should have slotted him back in when he returned. I'm a Panthers fan who is happy for him that he found success
Finally a usc qb that's shinning in the nfl
i saw this coming. i said this was a 12 win team
Darnold deserves this tbh if he keeps this up he is definitely getting comeback player of the year
I don’t know why the Vikings would move on from Darnold tbh especially if they keep up all the winning
As a Jets head even I'll say I'm happy for Sam, his time with some legit offensive masterminds and "qb whisperers" in SF and now Minne finally got him to show consistently what I knew he had here but even I can admit it's a Jets-ism to fail young QBs and i hate it lol.
Younger than Joe burrow 🤯
Bro I had the same reaction when I heard that fact 💀
Who doesn’t know that?
I think after what Kevin O’Connell did last year with Nick Mullins, Josh Dobbs, and Kirk Cousins he needs more respect. He’s a offensive mastermind on the level of a lot of elite head coaches yet he never really gets brought up. He’s made it work no matter who is on his team. At the same time, love seeing Sam do well, so much time left on the clock for him.
Sam Darnold Americas QB
What's goin' on, Jeromes?
Over hyping a qb only leads too disappointment. Let him prove himself first.
SKOL TO THE BOWL BABYYYYY
The Super SKOL!
The problem was Darnold the problem was the Jets and the panthers. I hope a team sees this and gives him a shot once he leaves the Vikings
This is why I love the NFL. That saying "Any Given Sunday" is so true and alive in today's American football league.
It shows the Jets and Panthers are cursed franchises 😂
Colin Cowherd be like "I told you Sam Darnold was trunky, arms, feet, coachable, coastal kid, blue collar work ethic, has a midwest ethos, Bear Grills goes to him for survival tips, animals go to Sam Darnold for survival tips, he tougher than a 2 dollar steak and most of all he's THICC" (PAUSE)
wait darnold had the starting spot b4 jj so u messed that up
And basically all of national media
hey i was a vikes fan that beilved in him! just made 200 bucks on a darnold card 👍
When I saw we signed him, I had the mentality of if he does amazing and gets us a chip then great, and if he was somehow truly horrible then great and it would be a top 1-5 pick next draft
All I can say is good for him.
This man actually made of something positive for once
Many of the high-round QB picks aren't ready to start on opening day. They need development and can perform if allowed to learn instead of being thrown to the wolves on a dumpster fire team. Those teams don't get high-round picks for being models of functionality.
Also from what I’ve heard the gap between play styles of college & NFL is growing
Why not put Darnold's name in title so easy to search... wouldn't that get more views?
Gotta also give some credit to the Vikings defense for making the opposing qb see ghosts.
Love your video Mike and keep up the great work you are awesome
Imagine the New York Jets bring Sammy back ❤
Perna calls him, The Darnold! I love the sound of it! He really is making Football Great Again!!!! 😂
I like the nicknames Sam I Am and Ghostbuster
He looks slim and fit, no more puppy fat
I noticed that too. Hes Looks good and healthy. Hope he can keep balling out
Do a video on Sam Darnold…..oh
All hail the GEQBUS!
come on it’s been three games, if he makes the playoffs then we can start talking about a career resurrection
Even Geno struggled in jets offense
Darnold was signed and brought on as a day one starter. JJ was third on the depth chart all offseason and was only starting to look line a *potential* day one starter. But Darnold from the start, had the starting job in his hands. Y’all have got to stop with this narrative 😭 He wasn’t supposed to be this good, sure (but he was always gonna be this good, yall just didn’t know..) but JJ McCarthy was NOT DRAFTED TO BE STARTING HIS FIRST SEASON
Bruh the cheerleaders in the intro go crazy to that beat
Especially at the quarterback position whoever you get drafted by is usually your make or break for the NFL
Love your videos. Can you please make a video on the afc north and the Steelers killing it right now?
ONE BEFORE I DIE!!! #SKOL

@@BraddahKoa BLOW PACK BLOW
5-0 BABY!
It’s almost kinda sad though that even if Darnold won the Super Bowl with the Vikings he won’t be there next year. I know he will set himself up well but no matter what he’s still on a journey for a permanent situation.
I know, it hurts my heart to think no matter what he does, it still won’t be “good” enough to stay. He deserves some stability.
Lets just hope he keeps it up 🙏
He was always going to be the starter
Certainly it’s because the Vikings have the best helmet in the NFL. Well, after the Raiders, but still.
