  • Hey guys, Greetings from afar!
    I've been on the move recently and have been taking by two bags of Huel along for the ride.
    If you've ever wonder what Huel is made of or if it's good for you, this is definitely the video for you!
    It's an unsponsored review of what I noticed while drinking Huel everyday for several weeks… as well as my other thoughts of Huel products like the Huel bars and ready-to-drink shakes.
    Mich love and enjoy :)

    I love Huel too, and eat the white version mixed with (cow) milk as a supplement to my meals. I've never actually tried it with water.
    I noticed my nails changed colour along with getting stronger too. It started near the nail bed and moved to the tip over the course of a month or two.. was not expecting that.
    I also had a reduction in cravings, and after the first week or so began to love the taste. (not bad at first, but it took a bit of getting used to.)
    The flavours can be quite subtle, but they are all pretty nice. Berry and the Coffee are probably my favourites.
    My recent blood work showed a massive improvement in almost every respect, I credit Huel as a large factor in this. I went from ok/good to near ideal.
    Also you are far braver than I am taking bags of white powder through customs!

    I just tried my first Huel - made it with cold water- chocolate flavor 2 scoops. I tasted it - it was good and then blended in a banana and it was even better. Without milk I was surprised how thick it was and honestly I may just do 1/2 next time as it is quite filling. Glad you introduced me to this! ❤ - Jane

    I started using HUEL nearly three years ago during the COVID-19 Pandemic. They were selling it for an amazing deal. I normally mix mine with a banana 🍌, ice chips, strawberries, and some almond milk 😋

    I go through periods of living on the hot and savoury Huel, 2 meals a day, sometimes with rice or cheese on top depending on what flavour I’m having. Great for weight loss and just easy and tasty. I avoid the pasta ones as I’m not great with gluten but the others are great ❤

    I always liked drinking any kind of powdered drink with room temperature water. I know it probably isn't ideal for satisfying thirst if you're hot/been working out. But I usually am in an inside environment and found that it goes down SO much faster if it's room temperature. Also mixes better than with a cold drink

    Hmmmm this is very intriguing! Nice thorough review. I was thinking about having it for camping and then you mentioned backpacking. I looked at HUEL also but I found that nutritional yeast was a better and cheaper option to augment a regular diet. But I think in a situation like you traveling or you couldn't get a proper meal in for whatever reason, it could fill in nutritional gaps. So I think it's more of a niche product IMHO than actual meal replacement.

      Nice! I definitely plan to focus on other sources of nutrients when I’m back home. I think other uses cases could be: parents who need to feed their very picky children, people with jobs that don’t allow much time for food (like medical residents).
      Ps: nutritional yeast + garlic salt + hemp seeds is a favorite trio👌

      That sounds really good! I have been making various berry smoothies with the unflavored one, haven’t yet tried banana! Recently I’ve also been adding a scoop of the chocolate one to oatmeal; it’s also quite nice! Huel powder is much more versatile than marketed.

I've gone on crusade a dozen times trying to save the bananas.....banana bread, milkshakes day and night......mostly I put them out for the raccoons who refuse to pay rent. This could be a solution. tHanks for the tip!

    Great info. . . I make my own DRINK that i consume during the day. . . No breakfast. . . A hand full of nuts for lunch, walnuts or cashews.. . . And like you a like cooking my dinner myself. . . I'm a bio-hacker , and have been doing this for almost 25 years now. I hope you'll take my advice when I tell you, unless you live iin Antarctica, you NEED to get some sun. I've know women like you my whole life who are afraid of the sun. I know all the excuses by heart, so i won't list them here. If you take care of your skin from the inside out, you'll do just fine in the sun. STAY HYDRATED, drink half you body weight in ounce's a day. Never tap water, preferably glass bottled springs water, like a pelagrino.. . . Extra vitamin C, you can not make collagen (what your skin is made off) with out vitamin C. period. YOU NEED CHOLESTEROL. . . Your cell membranes are made of it. . . Successful mitosis is contingent on it, your brain is also half CHOLESTEROL and half water, relatively speaking. Grass fed dairy is a must for this. True free ranch chicken eggs as well. Also coconut oil, avocados and a good olive oil. Also add vitamin k2 with cod liver oil.. (see Dr Kate Rhume Bleue) . . Broccoli sprouts extract & apricot seeds. . . They 100 % mitigate cancer. . . IE, the sun doesn't cause cancer, your poor health does. . . So when you are unhealthy, yes the sun can hurt you. I've seen so many women who have gotten little to no sun, and are health nuts (the worst are vegans) and after 10 to 20 years they look so unhealthy, their skin is sickly looking, more wrinkled and splotchey.. . Granted, if they got a lot of sun and didn't follow the list I gave, their skin suffered as well. BUT those that got lots of sun, and followed these protocols, like myself, they looked so much more healthy, and looked 10 to 12 years younger than they actually were. Bottom line, you definitely are avoiding the sun. You not only look unhealthy. But you actually are.

    • @TheScienceofSelfCare
      @TheScienceofSelfCare  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey Frederick, thanks for this interesting take!! I could probably use a little more sun based on my Dutch paleness ;) Though I burn very easily and have already had to have a pre-cancerous mole removed from my back. So for now, I try to wear high SPF and stay in the shade while supplementing heavily with Vitamin D3.

    • @Martin_Edmondson
      @Martin_Edmondson 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The sun can absolutely give you cancer. There is a wealth of peer-reviewed scientific evidence to support this. It is highly irresponsible to suggest otherwise.
      Especially If you are pale skinned. Sun damage can happen quickly and can massively increase your risk of skin cancers and premature aging.
      There is absolutely nothing wrong with having pale skin, and the trend to change it by sunbathing to make it browner is idiotic.

    Any thoughts how Huel compares to 310 Nutrition?

    • @TheScienceofSelfCare
      @TheScienceofSelfCare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      310 Nutrition looks interesting with their fiber/superfood blend. I have food sensitivities for certain things in there (like goji berries) so I personally wouldn’t choose it over Huel Black. Sometimes less is more with powder mixes. But others might like that ingredient variety!
      I also prefer the Huel Black macro breakdown. Seems more balanced with a tad more fat (omega 3s from flax seeds are a plus in my book). If you’re going for more of a protein powder, 310 packs 15% more protein.
      All up to personal preference. ☺️
      Macro ratios:
      Huel Black Edition (Chocolate)
      21% fat 30% carbs 49% protein
      310 Nutrition (Vanilla Cake)
      10% fat 26% carbs 64% protein
