Jay says "people gravitate towards negativity - like terrorism or Manson". Yet Bad Religion's lyrics are 100% negative, pointing out the flaws in society, politics, religion, economy. Its good negativity, but both include a sense of fear. I tend to disagree with everything Jay says, and agree with Greg and Brett on everything.
Humans thrive on "Macabre" the worst people thrive in history; there's a song on a Propaghandi Album "Supporting Caste" one of those songs Chris Hannah referencing the Pornography of Force and The Worst of Humanity throughout the last 2k years. Those people the tyrants and sycophants are remembered everyone else mostly forgotten; I remember being in a band room it was suggested we write a dark twisted song ; jamming through it went totally the other way some nice piece of jam music; with influences like The Beatles Stones there's a mix of Love but cultural push back Sympathy for the devil is talking about historical events with a hint of cynical regard but ego driven Bad Religion didn't write love songs but for the sake of society and the world wrote tragedies about tragedies Hannah too the love of the world balanced with the understanding of terrible things; 10k chick's obsessed with slasher flicks horror movies like why well because their probably secretly fucking psychopaths
